Penguin - excellent that the ecv worked!! Nice to hear your experience as well incase any of us should also need to nake that decision.
Sweet - I definitely wouldn't be standing around at the carboot either, hope yepu and OH have managed to come to the same conclusion in the end. Sorry times are rough atm after FIL passing x
Snow - glad you enjoyed your massage. Hope the next couple weeks left at work go quick for you and the iron tablets keep helping.
I keep reading from my phone but don't always get chance to reply.
I'm planning to go to half days at work for the first two weeks of june until I finish for maternity. Thinking of booking my eyebrows in to be done just before due date so at least they look half decent haha. Might book another massage too as I have a £10 off voucher for when I went before and with the same girl, and it was really nice.
Think we are ready here, just a waiting game. DH goes abroad for 4nights next week so will be hoping baby doesn't decide to make a rather early arrival.
I've not been woken up with feet in ribs, feel for those of you who are doing, just sore hips/lower back and acid reflux!Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
Thanks ladies. I've felt pretty wiped today (as has OH) after the drama of the last few days, so just had a lazy day at home. Belly is feeling a bit tender, but hopefully worth it in the long term! It's very strange seeing my bump move so differently. Also, my back pain has continued to feel much better and I am a lot more comfortable, so that is an unexpected plus! Let's hope it lasts. I've felt a few twinges of cramp today and had a few tightenings that have felt a bit different to Braxton Hicks, so not sure if they're early signs of labour of just because of yesterday, so we shall see! OH has suddenly become very inpatient to meet baby as he had got it in his head we'd be having a c-section on Monday, and he also says that after the last few days he just wants us all home safely without any of the uncertainty about how labour will be.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend0 -
Back from our last pre-bean week away- I've had to not do some of the walks as the coast path was a bit narrow and steep so husband has taken dogs out and I've stayed at the cottage/ met them in the car on some days.
Lots of heartburn this week and some ankle swelling on the days when I've done less. I think bean has moved down a bit but we'll see at the growth scan on weds. Can sometimes feel a 'foot' (I think) now from outside of bump which usually prompts some movement.
Did lots of reading, lots of sitting in the cottage garden (thank you Wales for the sunshine!) and some hypnobirthing reading/ practice.
Stayed in a separate room to OH mostly but at least that meant I got sleep and didn't have to negotiate a step to the bathroom in the night, multiple times.
Don't think I've missed any new arrivals in my scan of a week's threads have I?
Agree re carboot etc Sweetbabu and glad ECV worked penguin!0 -
Thank you all for your replies. I was actually getting to the point where I wasn't sure if I WAS being unreasonable - you know how hormones can be! We wouldn't have been able to do the later one as we had lunch booked for 2pm so he suggested the earlier one to his mother who said no, don't be silly.
She just wants everything out of the house, which is understandable. She's not really capable and will be quite housebound now, so he just wanted to make things easier for her. And he's normally amazing and really looks after me, so it was a bit out of character, but all sorted no.
For the past three days, I have had the most annoying pins and needles sensation at the top left-hand-side of my bump. I've never experienced anything like that before - I think baby is lying on a nerve. It's not painful, just very annoying! I found that the only thing that stops it is being on all fours(but then my left knee hurts!) or lying up the stairs - my knee doesn't hurt then. However, last night, this was accompanied by the horrible sensation of being itchy over my ENTIRE body. Dr Google helped convince me that I had cholestasis of pregnancy, of course
I ended up so fed up that I went to bed early. I'm back to only the pins and needles feeling today.
Penguin; I'm so, so happy for you that your ECV worked! One of my biggest worries is that I will have to have a section and, though I know it's best for baby and it's not the end of the world... I'm just too much of a wimpI wasn't actually sure what was involved in an ECV, but I've just watched a few videos on youtube and.. wow! My mind has been well and truly blown!
Boyo is head down at the moment, but still not engaged. I did read that some subsequent babies don't engage until labour actually begins though.
Snow, I'm glad you enjoyed your massage - I'm so jealous!! A year ago, before I was pregnant, I could not keep my eyes open; I was absolutely knackered. I was feeling sick and really grotty. I even had heart palpitations - I actually thought I was pregnant :rotfl: Turns out, I needed iron and it made me feel SO much better. I hope it does the same for you!
We're getting so close now to our little boom! :j 4 this month and five the next, so exciting!0 -
Ah sorry to hear about the early wake up calls Vanilla, I can see that being one of the few things that don't change when baby arrives.
Sounds like you managed to just have a bit of a chill Arbrighton. Glad the good weather stuck around for you.
Not sure about the pins and needles on the bump Sweet but definitely the itching! Drives me insane!
Penguin not surprised your feeling a bit wiped out. Just try get some rest, and I'm sure the little one will be here soon. You have no time left at all.
MW this afternoon for me, so hopefully baby is in the right position and all is well. Getting a bit anxious that baby is still on the small side and what that could mean as a few people have commented it could mean an induction and so on. But we shall see, trying not to get carried away. Weekend was lovely, didnt end up out for dinner as we had planned. Went out the road to see our friends and their 6 day old baby girl. She is just adorable. Mum looks so well, and it was nice to hear that her labour went really well. It was the first time the OH had been around a baby that small. I think he's starting to get a bit impatient now too after meeting her.
Hopefully everyone had a nice weekend, and got at least a peek in of the nice weather.0 -

I have only just been brave enough to watch a video! Although the women on youtube look much calmer than I did. OH said it was crazy at the point baby was transverse, especially as baby is so big and I'm not. I had no idea what it involve before Thursday, and I don't know anyone else who's had one. Basically it just felt like the consultant wrestled baby around. Strangely both OHs SILs had breech babies in their first pregnancies, despite only 3% of full term babies being breech, but they both had c sections. It is very weird to be thinking we were so close to a c-section this morning! I'm feeling much better today, and my back is also much better- I managed to walk into town and back yesterday which I haven't for weeks. I think it's because baby was also back to back.
arbrighton- glad you had a good trip away.
Sweet- hope that the pins and needles improve, the joys of obscure symptom!
April- fingers crossed for midwife this afternoon0 -
I'm just hoping that growth scan on weds shows bean is head down- I'm sure they've dropped down a bit and hopefully they've done so 'the right way up!'
Chiropractor appt today. Needed as starting to get more regular pain in my SI joint, which hasn't really been an issue for years.
Desperately encouraging OH to read the labour/ birth bit of the dad book although maybe NHS antenatal on saturday will prompt him to get on with that!0 -
So thrilled that the ECV worked penguingirl; brilliant news! Had big extended family barbecue on Saturday which was lovely, and as we were leaving everyone was hoping to see us with baby at next event (Grandma's 90th) which is 3 days after my due date...! So weird to think the next time I see them all I might be a mum! Really hoping for somewhat early arrival so baby is here and I'm feeling human enough to attend.
My bump feels like this weekend it's had another growth spurt and dropped further!! It's so low now that I'm actually amazed baby hasn't dropped out yet... midwife on Thursday and at this point expecting to be told baby fully engaged.
Think my joints are getting looser and looser as I am so creaky getting out of bed in the mornings now. I'm absolutely fine once I'm up and stretched a bit but I feel about 100 getting up (and turning over etc).
Penultimate full week of work this week. Starting to look forward to finishing now as I was knackered on the commute this morning (probably due to being awake since 5am - bladder called and I couldn't get back to sleep). Thankfully perked up since but I feel like it's probably time to start slowing down a bit.
Getting more and more giddy about impending arrival. DH and I also settled on a boy's name that we both are really happy with yesterday which I'm so chuffed about. Had a girl's name settled for a few weeks now but we had been struggling / disagreeing on boys' names so this is a breakthrough!
Down to see DH's cousin's 4 month old next weekend. Will be fascinating to see how he's changed since we met him at 5 weeks.Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.
Enjoying sending hundreds of pounds a month to savings rather than debt repayment!0 -
Fingers crossed arbrighton and snow!
Here's another thing. Normally I wax, and I do it myself, which is absolutely fine. However, right now, I can't even see down there, never mind wax it! :rotfl:
I'm trying to talk OH into helping/doing it for me. Otherwise, it's a trip to the salon for me to see if anyone is brave enough!
The reason I'm so keen is that when I had my daughter, the midwife had a look down there and she said "I can see hair.... oh, erm, you know... on the baby's head". As if it's not undignified enough!0 -
I can't reach or see there, i've been trimming a bit but it's certainly not on my to do list just now and wouldn't trust OH not to be cackhanded and shred me!
I do need to shave my legs though so probably need to have OH on hand to lever me out of the bath.
Chiro was useful, booked again for 4 weeks time which should be pre-bean unless they arrive early0
