Not as under-prepared as us! Although Mum did email yesterday to say that their neighbours have finally laid out all the stuff they had been offering, and she's been round and picked out a whole load - in fact, bags of clothes from newborn to 12 months +, bags of blankets and all sorts of newborn bits, plus stuff for toddler age, which is awesome. So now I don't feel so bad for not buying all this stuff :rotfl:
Should probably try and get my hospital bag finished off this week though - 34 weeks tomorrow!0 -

Do you want me to ask SIL for the name/number of the person who did a few bits to their roof in their old house? They're local to you so might be worth a try?
Anything is worth a try at this point. I'm working my way through all the local lot, none of whom actually seem to want the work....0 -
Hi ladies, I've been reading but not posting for weeks - so exciting that we're heading into a baby boom!
Apologies in advance for this is sure to be a bit of a ramble
Really great to hear how you're all doing and sending lots of sympathy to those suffering heartburn, pelvic pain, lack of sleep etc I've been fine up until the last few weeks when I've had really debilitating hip/lower back pain. I had a physio referral from my obstetrician, but no appointment as yet, so decided to see an osteopath on Friday and feeling positive that it will help.
I'm 35 weeks and definitely not as prepared as I'd like, but it's the first day of maternity leave today so about time to get shiz done! I really need my hospital bag packed this week as we're going away for the weekend, so will put it in the car with the car seat and my notes. That's a bit of a scary thought!
We had SUCH a nightmare with mothercare deliveries - too frustrating and long to go into, but in short I sent everything back and emailed them my complaint and they phoned me to offer me a £30 voucher. I told them I wouldn't use it as I'm never shopping there again. (I will, it's MSE after all :money:) Plus my cash back still came through which was another £40, so not a bad result financially...
Penguin, really nice idea to send your friend a care package - is she able to have baths? It might be nice to but in some Lush stuff or other nice bath stuff. But not the Lush sex bomb - apparently that has a labour-inducing ingredient! Save it for 40 weeks...
Enjoy your NCT course, Firebird! We had ours over the last two weekends and it was great, much better than I expected. It's so nice to have our WhatsApp groups set up and dates for our first meet ups - and a weekly tea & cake session for the mums
Arbrighton - well done you for enjoying the hen do, even if it did wipe you out a bit! I find baby is really active in the bath - so weird!
Anyway, better go - hope to be around more the next few weeks! Take care of yourselves xLBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

Thinking about baths actually....
We have a space saving one i.e. it gets narrower around the waist area. I now have to kind of roll over to kneel up since the abs aren't working. Not going to be able to do that much longer without getting stuck. So, will have to quit those or get OH on hand to help me get out. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH the glamour eh (he didn't hear me when I shouted last night so good job it was only a nearly not an actual STUCK!)0 -

poddle- enjoy maternity leave! I got so much sorted in the first week, it felt such a relief. I don't think my friend can do baths, but I like the idea of smellies, I might pop some hand creams or moisturiser in that she can use from bed.
arbirghton- I won't have a bath in the house alone anymore as scared of getting stuck. A colleague said she used to have her OH to lift her out.
Just had a lovely lunch with the NCT ladies, was amazing that all 9 of us were able to make it (with 3 babies). Although I am now frustrated as I popped into the station afterwards to pick up train tickets for OH and managed to smash my phone reading the reference number and now it is dead. Have had a rummage and have found an old phone I think does work, it's just on charge so *fingers crossed*, if not we'll be going to Tesco tonight for a new one as OH is not happy for me to be phone-less. Plus was that the ticket guy at the station was lovely and helped me pick by bits up off the floor and was telling me about his wife who is 28 weeks pregnant and was impressed I hadn't burst into tears! These things happen and all my photos and contacts are backed up so nothing lost :cool:0 -
Let's not even go into my phone killing abilities....0

Has anyone bought a sling/ carrier in advance? I'm sure I'm going to try to use one but while there is a local sling library it's yet another thing to put on hold if we do it that way and I am getting SERIOUSLY antsy about how unprepared we seem to be0
