Hi Ladies, I hope you don't mind me posting when I don't belong on this thread yet (fingers crossed as always!) but I've started metformin this week as I have PCOS and I am really struggling with the side effects - I was just wondering if there is anyone who took it and can tell me it gets better because the past 3 days have been awful?!

Hope everyone had a good weekend and radio silence is just people being elsewhere. Enjoyed the hen do a lot but quite a lot of braxton hicks and far too tired afterwards to do what I wanted on the sunday.
Watched bean apparently rolling around in bump while I was in the bath last night. Most strange
We've been to cinema again today while we still can.
Lots of heartburn this weekend :(

Busy weekend here, away with friends, and then busy in the garden since getting home. Glad the hen do went well arbrighton. I found it pretty exhausting being away from home, and definitely glad it was the last time pre-baby.

I still don't think I've had any braxton hicks, but then I've been late with everything else, so I goess that's just par for the course! I have been drinking occasional cups of raspberry leaf tea (smells amazing, tastes pretty bland!), but probably not enough to make any difference.

Our NCT course starts tomorrow, so quite looking forward to that. bath time and then bed I think...woke up at 6 this morning, so definitely need some sleep!

Firebird I never had any braxton hicks at all so you never know! Apparently you do have them though it's just whether you feel/notice them. Clearly I didn't which seems very lucky!

I keep stalking here in the early hours when feeding to see how you're all doing :-) Clara is 6 weeks tomorrow and we did our first night away this weekend...bot a great success but learnt a lot for next time!

I WILL make that <1 year thread tomrrow honest...baby brain keeps forgetting.

Arbrighton Glad you enjoyed the hen do, hope you find something to ease the heartburn. I'm not sure if I've had braxton hicks or not, I think I had a couple but not 100%.

    Enjoy your NCT course Firebird.

Cats glad your first night away with Clara went well :)

We have had a steady weekend. I went shopping with my mum Sat and got some last minute bits, ordered a couple of things online. Literally just a few small items left to get now I think. Me and DH had a good clean and tidy around the house yesterday so hopefully will help me with keeping on top of it. I've also finished packing the hospital bags and have put a note on top to remember phone charger and hospital notes!! I was going to put my basic makeup in a bag and then just grab it to throw in at the last minute but I haven't bothered at the mo.

Arbrighton, glad you enjoyed your hen do.

Firebird I quite like the raspberry tea, surprisingly. I tend to get a fair bit more 'tightenings' now then I did a few weeks ago. My bump tends to go rock solid for a bit before it softens again. Enjoy your NCT class.

Cats glad to hear your first night away with Clara went well. I hope she's doing good :)

Newthrift good idea. I need to put a note/checklist on top of the hospital bag for all the last minute things to pick up like a charger and my makeup bag.

Spent the long weekend not really doing much. I also picked up some last minute things, got the cot made since the mattress arrived Friday. Also got a cot mobile, a nice wee bargain at £5 since it was the one off the shop floor at Mamas & Papas and they had no more in stock. So I was fairly chuffed with that. Spent yesterday mostly lazing about bar a trip to the gym and a walk. Only 4 more days left at work now

Arbrighton- glad hen do went well. I've had Braxton Hicks since about 24 weeks, and they've definitely increased in the last couple of weeks. My bump also goes crazy in the bath, although actually this last week I've noticed that he is even more active than he was before and my belly makes lots of strange shapes. OH and I can just sit staring at it for ages. Heartburn has got progressively worse for me over the last month (I've never had it before). I found Rennie helps pretty quickly.

Firebird- hope you are more rested today. Enjoy your nct class.

Cats- hope you and Clara are doing well. Can't believe she is 6 weeks! Definitely looking forward to seeing you on a newborn thread. Any tips for night away? I think we'll do it quite early as my OH works away once a fortnight so I'll probably go to my mum's sometimes.

Newthrift- sounds like you've had a productive weekend.

37 weeks for me now so I was officially full term on Saturday. Also in my area they would want to induce by 31st may so looks like we are definitely having a may baby! It's hard now not to know when it will happen. OH is in London on Thursday so is feeling anxious about going for the day. We've had a quiet weekend- got some small jobs around the house done, got our baby monitor (went for the bt 400- the basic one) and I repacked hospital bags. OH thinks I have too many as I have a labour bag (mainly food etc), my overnight bag and baby's changing bag. I might change my bag to a smaller bag as it isn't very full. We had a nice picnic at a national Trust place on Sunday as it has been sunny here. I got a bit of pregnancy crazies on Sunday night, but feeling a bit better now. I'm doing some baby washing this morning (have been told to take a photo for the album of it on the line!) and then lunch with the nct girls, including 3 new babies.

I have a family friend who is about 29 weeks pregnant. Our mum's worked together, and we've met up a few times over the years, but aren't particularly close. But we have messaged quite a bit whilst pregnant. She is a few years younger than me, this is her 2nd baby, but most of her friends her age don't have children and she's moved since her first was born so I don't think she has many mummy friends so we've chatted about this like maternity leave etc as she was at uni when she had first. Anyway, she has weak joints and has managed to dislocate both her hips within about 10 days. They've said they can't do much to strengthen them while she is pregnant, so current plan is complete bedrest and a c section at 37 weeks. I'm thinking of sending her a parcel of goodies, but don't know what to put in. I don't want to go OTT, but at the same time she must be bored out of her mind. She seems really positive at the moment, but I'm presuming that she's having rubbishy moments too. I was thinking of sending her some silly bits like a colouring book (and pencils), maybe a sudoku book, some sweets etc. Maybe a little craft kit. Anyone got any other ideas? I'm sure she has a kindle and books, and Netflix or something already.

    Sorry, long post!

Im getting a lot more tightenings now, one one cup of raspberry leaf tea a day but Ive sent for some tablets and Im going to start taking 2 daily from 34 weeks.
April - That is a real bargain for the cot mobile, that is one thing I need to buy, but I don't suppose she will be in her cot much at first, so that could wait until after the baby is here. The only major thing I have left to buy is a car seat now, but doing all the research gives me a headache. May just leave it to OH to sort out!
My nights have been really restless lately, was awake from 4-6am this morning, but then when it got to 7 and was time to get up to sort DD for school, I could have quite happily slept like a log - typical I suppose.
I made a list yesterday of all the things I want to do this last 6 weeks, such as clean the car out, finish the blanket I'm making, get my small business accounts up to date, have my hair cut/coloured - hopefully it should all help to pass the time quicker :)
One Born every Minute on tonight - does anyone else watch?

I probably need to make some lists. OH and I walked the dogs together yesterday and were talking about the big jobs and what might get done before July. He seems to think i'll be able to get our leaking roof sorted- I've been trying without success to get people to turn up to look at it, never mind give a price and do it for months! Should manage to get my tax return done as long as the banks do their info re interest- need to check that.

We're away next week, when I'll be 32 weeks and I think i'd like to have my hospital bag ready and buy a few more bits for bean prior to that. Nursery will definitely not be ready pre bean as we have run out of weekends for Sister to do murals (plus she's crazybusy at work) or for MIL round trip to do furniture. That bothers me in turns of ticking it off but never mind. So I think I'll be doing a bit of a click and collect order for mothercare this week. Wash the blankets and any clothes than haven't been done yet and move them to the shelves in bean's room rather than the drawer under our bed.

Must persuade OH to read the baby book and do stuff like discuss names.

So basically I feel incredibly underprepared, totally tired and not achieving anything.

As for b-H.... I'm assuming when my bump goes all tight that's what it is. After all reading about it doesn't tell you what it is eh

Pretty much! It took me weeks to realise what they were, but I know I started getting them on our babymoon. I thought it was baby leaning against me at first, but pretty sure they're BH.

Do you want me to ask SIL for the name/number of the person who did a few bits to their roof in their old house? They're local to you so might be worth a try?
