Firebird- I didn't buy anything until about 28/29 weeks so I wouldn't worry. I had colleagues who couldn't believe it and actually cheered when I told them I'd bought a pram and car seat. We've found now the cot is up up that storage has improved- everything is now in the nursery including piled up in cot. Except the pram which we promised my mum is in the loft, but is actually in the boot of OHs car as we couldn't be bothered putting it up there.

My belly button continues to do crazy things. Most of the time it is definitely out, but sometimes it still goes in.

I've had a big increase in Braxton Hicks the last couple of days. Sleep is non existent- last night I needed the toilet on the hour every hour until about 5. Then OH was up for early train. He's staying in Wales overnight, but this is the last trip before baby. My mum has decided she is coming to stay as she doesn't want me to be alone, which is nice but also a pain as it means I've had to put the bedsheets in the wash as I've been using the spare bed and have also done some cleaning. I'm just waiting on our bedroom furniture being delivered and someone picking old sideboard up from freecycle, and then I think I might be ready for a nap before she arrives.

Definitely Penguin, so many babies due within a few weeks of each other. Ah I'm glad your mum is coming to keep you company, but not so much with the extra work. With you on the non-existent sleep. Been awake since 2, and for the life of me could not get back to sleep. Ended up on the sofa watching tv. Managed to use some of my flexi time to have a half day, in hope that I can nap after lunch. OH just text me to tell me they are taking the scaffolding down outside the house so looks like there will be no sleep for me.

After you said that Sweet, I did the exact same thing. 37 days now, and only 5 days left at work  Definitely crazy with driving to Scotland for the weekend. I purchased some raspberry tea and started taking it maybe 10 days ago or so, tastes a lot better than I thought it would.

Firebird I wouldn't worry too much about buying stuff. We've been given loads of pieces here and there, and the only big thing we really bought before 32 weeks or so was the buggy/car seat. I didn't buy the cot until a week or so ago, still need a mattress for it but hopefully will get that Friday. As you've said its just the organising through things to know what you do/don't need. I did that this weekend just past, and can't believe how much stuff we have, and that's without adding in the clothes we bought in the sales for the later stages. I also wanted to get my hospital bag finished as my family tend to go on the early side. Knowing that, I will probably be the one who bucks the trend and end up going overdue :rotfl:

Arbrighton hopefully they'll get a decision to you as soon as.
  • Eurgh, feeling heavy when upright today. Just a mild (but nevertheless annoying) ache in my lower abdomen. Luckily it eases away when I sit down.

I suppose it's much more manageable than the hip/buttock pain I was experiencing walking a few weeks ago so counting myself lucky!

32 weeks today. Last antenatal class was good but too long! By the time it was finished (9:30) I was feeling overwhelmed with information and absolutely starving with a headache to boot! Luckily felt better this morning. There was a new couple there who had been drafted in at the last minute as the wife was being induced that evening at 38w and they hadn't been able to attend their planned babycare workshop in time. Not sure why the early induction but I got the sense they were both a bit overwhelmed by things and not ready! Really hoping it all goes well for them. Although induction isn't the ideal I will admit being a little jealous they get to meet their baby soon!

Had a chat with boss today who wanted to confirm I'm happy to stay until the end of May which I confirmed. They definitely want me back after maternity leave which is great as that will take the pressure off if/when I re-enter the market. I have no idea how motherhood will make me feel about work so playing by ear but I do love this current role.

Got midwife next Thursday - getting impatient now for each appointment as they become closer together and we approach d-day! I also wanted to say that as with most of you my fetal movements have changed to more rolls and stretching out (ouchie!) plus hiccups rather than the violent kicks of the late-20-weeks. So it's reassuring to read that is normal!

DH is impatient to pack hospital bag now so I think I need to construct a list of the last few bits (off the top of my head, nappy sacks, muslins, cotton wool, maternity pads, breast pads, nipple cream, clothes for labour) and finally get that packed.

Looking forward to next month's baby boom and all the birth stories! Not long now ladies!

Enjoying sending hundreds of pounds a month to savings rather than debt repayment!

I've started buying some bits for hospital bag- baby's is done but I need to sort mine. So some big pants and toothbrush/ toiletries etc bought today. Need an actual bag for me, as bean's things are all in their changing bag already.

Also bought a pair of non-mat jeggings. Hen do this weekend and I need something to wear... Bride to be will be in nice jeans and we haven't been told that's not acceptable. I can't face buying another pair of mat jeans that won't really fit very well and cost twice as much

April- hope you managed to get a nap. Nearly there! I found the last little bit of work really hard.

Snow- that's great news about work! Definitely good to have options, even if you don't feel ready to make any decisions yet.

Arbrighton- I'm amazed you can go on a hen do! I'm ready for my bed at 9.

Our furniture came and I love it! Had a good sort out downstairs, and the old side board was collected so we are definitely re-claiming space that had got messy due to baby bomb/carpets. I also feel like I wouldn't be embarrassed to have someone in my house now- had visions of having the baby and my house being safeguarded by midwives as it was so bad! Ha. Just waiting on mum to arrive and hopefully we'll have a chilled out evening. Had news from someone at running club that his daughter gave birth this morning- she was due day before me (19th may) so that definitely makes it more real!

The hen starts at midday, I'm not the most pregnant one going and it's very much a come to what you can thing since at least two of the non-pregnant hens have babies under 1! And it's only a bus ride from Oxford city centre to where I'm staying.

And actually, I've slept the last two nights. The only difference I can detect is that I had socks on in bed....

I've just realised that my parents have luggage stuff of all sizes so my potential hospital bag is probably there. We're going away at 32 weeks and I guess it might be an idea to have it done for then, along with notes packed etc. We'll have the new family car so it'll fit. And if not, definitely ready by the weddings at 35 & 36 weeks. OH and I were both born before EDD although I doubt that has any bearing!

As far as I can tell, no antenatal appts again next week as midwife said 31 week one was redundant when I'm due a growth scan at 32 (although that's pushed back to 33 as i'm a fool who booked a holiday)

That sounds manageable then - I had to cancel a hen do last month as it was the same day as nct classes. I originally planned to go to the meal, but it was booked but 8.30om and the thought of driving into Manchester for it filled me with dread!

Don't know if it helps anyone, but I've just seen on hotukdeals that asos have 20% off maternity clothes with code BEBE20 it runs out tomorrow at 8am. I suspect it's too late for many of us, but there might be some nursing bits?

Yeah and I've booked myself in from friday to take my time getting down- timewise it's driveable on saturday but pregnantmewise, not so much!
And then i've kind of committed to trek off to the olympic rowing lake on sunday as a mate is racing then have to drive back that evening which might be more ick. But take it gradually etcetc, stop lots
