I think I am in theory?! Argh that's crazy!! Yours could surprise us though lol.

6 working days left now woooop although so much to get done, which at least means the days are going quickly. Now my problem is just making plans for mat leave which keep me busy but don't wear me out...

  • Congrats big 5!! and exciting that cats you are just around the corner!

Clarabell, sounds like the time off cant come quick enough, trying to squeeze 5 days worth of work into 3 sounds stressful, no wonder you broke down!

i too have been painting over the weekend and came home tonight to put another coat on one wall. This is our bedroom - haven't tackled the 'nursery' yet!

Penguin let us know how the mothercare event goes, mine isn't till next week

Thought it was time I head over to the big thread. I'm now 25+3 with DD being 3rd June. Waking up throughout the night has kicked in again thought I might have had a bit longer before they did.

    Hope everyone is well :)

Evening ladies, hope everyone is OK?

Thought I'd update after the Mothercare evening. It was much more relaxed than I expected- no hard sell, but really helpful staff. They had talks on car seats, prams, nursery furniture and first aid. Not much else in terms of nct, baby groups etc. Overall we found the evening helpful, but I don't think it was much more than just going to the store and speaking to the staff, but it was good to get the discount. In my goodie bag I got:
    Huggies wipes (56)
    Pregnacare sample (7 days)
    Decaf Yorkshire tea (10 pack)
    Aveeno baby soothing relief (29ml)
    Milton sterilising tablets (4)
10% off voucher (instore or online) valid until 12.03.2017
    5 Instore vouchers for £5 off £50 or £10 off £100 valid from 13.03.2017

We ended up going for the journey travel system and it should arrive in the next couple of days, it seemed easily to steer and fold away, and seems pretty good value for money. We don't have isofix cars, but are likely to get one in the next year, so we might change the car seat at some point, but for now we're happy with the one included. My mum is a little bit miffed we getting it delivered home as apparently it is bad luck to have your pram in the house before your baby, but as she lives 70 mins for the hospital, is midway through house and is on holiday the week before due date we didn't feel we had much option!

Otherwise all OK here. Hoping to get more decorating done- I may have made our nursery sound a bigger job than it is! It's currently a white box room with a desk in, but as we want to replace all the upstairs carpet we are just going to give it a fresh coat of white before we do that. So shouldn't take long. Same with the landing and stairs.

Anyone else being given lots of stuff? So far I've been given a travel coat, a mobile and promised a bouncing chair and a moses basket by colleagues, which is really sweet of them. All of them have said they are just sitting in lofts and they don't want to throw them.

We went to our mothercare event today as well Penguin - much the same but we didn't stay long as it was crowded and demos weren't as helpful as just going into the store normally. Spoke to a woman who runs hypnobirthing which was useful -
my OH was reassured that she was so practical and told us she didn't like the term 'hypnobirthing' as it makes people think of not being in control when it's actually the opposite! The goodie bag was the same and pleasantly surprised that the discount lasts a few weeks so no pressure. We also got Cadbury caramels and bananas

We have our Mothercare event next week, so looking forward to seeing what it's about. It's good to hear that the vouchers have a bit of a date on them, means we can have a good nosey before we decide on a cot. Not in too much of a rush, as we have decided to go ahead and sell. Fingers crossed we can get it all done before baby makes an appearance. Will probably get a crib in the meantime just to be on the safe side.
  • Just a heads up to those who haven't been to the Mothercare event yet. We went last night and yes the 10% voucher does have a longer date on it, but it cannot be used on items already reduced unless you purchase on the evening. For example, we bought the ORB pram which we were delighted to find reduced to £299 (from £439) we were told if we purchased on the night we could also have the extra 10% off, but if we used the voucher after the shopping evening then we wouldn't be able to get the extra discount The same applied to the Moses basket we bought which was also on offer. Just thought it worth a mention seeing as this is a money saving site!
  • Hello everyone,

I've not been on here for quite a long time, after having quite a rough time of things almost a year ago I'm now happy to say I'm 13 weeks pregnant with my first baby! Just had my scan on Monday, due date is 31st August!

So happy to see that so many of you have recently had babies or are just about to. Looking forward to hearing all about it!
