Congrats on your bfp GreenFairy, exciting times ahead! Have you seen the less than 12 weeks pregnant thread? You're more than welcome here of course, but the other thread will have more more parents-to-be due around the same time as you (rather than us grumpy third trimester folks!).
Saw my new community midwife today for the first (and maybe last?) time. She booked me in for a sweep on Monday, but I had my show this evening so might not make it that far. Also managed to break a tooth today, so here I am hoping not to go into labour until I've seen the dentist tomorrow! This could only happen to me... :rotfl:0 -
Oh not long now then big5!
Nice to hear of your news mouse :-)
Penguin i have been sleeping better too - less loo trips. Since being prescribed omeprazole my acid reflux has gone too and sleep is miles better because of it.0 -

I'm jumping in here for the first time...got my bfp yesterday.
It's our first, and we've been trying for nearly four years. I completely gave up tracking my cycle in November, as was resigned to the fact we'd have to start saving for ivf. I started feeling really tired over the last couple of weeks and even though I'm very irregular, knew I was late.
We can't quite believe it. I know I need to book in with my gp but that's as far as I've thought ahead right now. It's all a bit surreal, tbh!
still surreal here at 20weeks! +1 for the less than 12week thread. Usually more traffic too.
Re GP: check with reception. They took my word re BFP and just gave me midwives' no to book myself in. I saw GP in order to discuss meds but if it wasn't for that, wouldn't have seen him at all...0 -
My baby boy Harrison Michael arrived on his due date Feb 16th. He was 7lb 12oz, so nothing like the growth scans were predicting! Started losing my mucus plug on Tuesday evening and that continued through Wednesday, then mild contractions began Wednesday evening. Headed to hospital in the early hours of Thursday to be assessed and was 4cm dilated at 4.30am. Had a pethidine injection to help me get a bit of rest as I'd had no sleep, but it soon wore off. Felt ready to push just after 9am and he was born at 9.35am. Hurt like hell, but he's worth it! Had a night on the ward to get some help with breastfeeding, early days yet but seems to be going well. Was stuck in the delivery room waiting for a bed on the ward until nearly 7pm though, crazy!0

Yeyyyy!! Congrats big5!! Almost my turn!
37+1 now - had an extra scan as madam is on the small side but all fine just little like her mum (I'm 5ft1). I was born at 5lb 13 and 37+5 so she's about in line with that seemingly. Just a little family!
Really excited to meet her now after reading about all these arrivals - although I'd like a bit more than 4 more days since I don't finish work til next Tues Officially Mrs B as of March 2013

Congrats Big5! Sounds like you did really well.
Enjoy your last week in work cats. We had a productive weekend clearing the study/ soon to become nursery and throwing lots out. Got the Mothercare expectant parents event tomorrow so think we might buy our pram and car seat. Also made a list of what we need- we've decided a cot is not essential right now, but if we see one we'll get it. Same for decorating the nursery beyond painting it.
Definitely starting to become real for me. I found it hard at work at the end of last week- my sort of replacement has started (not intended to be my cover directly, but having been short staffed for ages, we have finally recruited to the post and it just works out with me winding down) so it just made it more obvious the transition in roles I'm making, and I'm pretty sure that when I come back my job will have changed. That's not a bad thing, but having been very career- focused for the last 10 years it's hard to let go of it in some ways. Definitely a new chapter starting!0 -
Congratulations and well done Big5 - I have the hugest admiration for those who manage to get through that pain without pain relief. I have had an epidural for both of my sons now as I could no longer cope on gas and air. xxEnjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Thanks penguingirl
i agree - it feels very weird as i've been very career focussed too! i'm genuinely worried about mental stimulation whilst on leave - I'll need to make sure I have plenty of grown up chats as well as mum ones!
I agree about cot & nursery - it feels weird having ours as baby won't be in the nursery for probably a good 6months. I would have waited and just bought the crib for now, but the cot we went for was on offer with the changing table/drawers as a combo so made sense. And it is cute looking at the "nursery". We haven't even needed to paint ours though so it's essentially just the spare room with a cot and changing drawers in it!Officially Mrs B as of March 2013

Congratulations Big5! A big well done also
Another beautiful name! Hope you are both keeping well?
I haven't been on for what seems like ages! I've been having a bit of a hard time at work, cutting back to 3 days but still trying to do 5 days of work in the 3 with the added pressure of trying to train my replacement at the same time!
I cracked on Thursday and broke down and told my boss I wasn't coping! My boss works off site so hasn't been able to see the stress I've been under. My replacement seems to be struggling to pick up even the basics  it's completely the wrong attitude, but soon it will be someone else's problem!!! I only have 12 working days left spread over 4 weeks and finish on 16th March when I'll be 37+6 - cannot wait now!
We finished off the nursery yesterday and I'm so pleased with it! Hoping to pack my hospital bag soon, probably next weekend.
I had my breast feeding workshop last week too which was very informative!
Sorry for the long post and hope everyone is keeping well?!
Cats are you next????0
