I would suggest having some spare towels by your bed as mine went in the bathroom but then a lot more came out later when I was back in bed, so you may find one towel isn't enough.

Good idea think - I was wondering how I'd get too and from the bathroom. We do have a vax carpet shampooer if the worst comes to the worst.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

  • Haha sexymouse, when more of mine went I had to run to the toilet with a pillow between my legs as we had just (literally a week or two before) put down a new carpet in the hallway!! (I decided it was easier to buy a new pillow than risk ruining the new carpet!!!)

Aww, that's a sweet story Mouse!

We've just put a new memory foam mattress topper on our bed, so have now got some lovely incontinence pads under the sheet to protect it! A towel by the bed is a good shout too. Only had the tiniest of trickles last time round, but who knows what'll happen this time. My husband is talking about keeping a couple of towels in the car as well.

Still not heard about the GTT results (no news = good news???). Got my consultant appointment tomorrow though so all will be revealed. Although if baby follows in big brother's footsteps I'll go into labour overnight tonight - scary thought! Highly doubt that'll happen, lol!

Big5- my SIL's waters broke in her hubby's car (he is very car proud). They did have some towels as it was enroute to hospital so not a surprise, but I'm not sure he's forgiven her yet!

My husband's thinking of getting a new car later this year, so I'm sure he's just thinking of the resale value, lol!

GTT result was normal, so consultant happy for me to wait for spontaneous labour, but has booked me in for an induction at 10 days overdue. Hopefully that won't be needed though. He recommended the midwife give me a sweep at 40 weeks, so will have to see if they'll do it at my next appointment (39+5) or not. Has anyone had one before? Got no idea what to expect.

Pleased to hear that your GTT results were good big. I've not had a sweep before (trying to avoid one this time too) - from what I've read, there's no evidence that they actually work unless you were going to go into labour anyway (the cervix needs to be favourable), and they can cause cramping and spotting and still not lead to labour. For this reason, I'm not going to decline one personally. Also, doctors are really keen to try to induce etc, even though 2 weeks either side of an EDD is seen as term. In France, you're not even considered at term until 41 weeks I believe. EDD are estimated so can't be used as gospel. Luckily the policy where I live is not to recommend induction until 40 +13 (unless there is a genuine medical necessity for it).

4 days after me Vanilla :D can't wait to meet our little boy. Getting real!

Hope everyone is doing well- wondering if the no news from Sexymouse means anything?! Fingers crossed for good news soon.

Plodding on here at 26 weeks. Sleep has massively improved this week, down to one trip to the loo on a couple of nights! Lol. But still feel just as tired and nausea and acid reflux has continued, although I've not been sick again. Hoping that our room will be finished tomorrow and we can start on bumps! It's only a tiny room so shouldn't be too big a job, just need to move the desk into the spare room and put some stuff in the loft.
