    How's everyone doing?

27 weeks this week, and trying to get organised. What do folk recommend you pack in your hospital bag? With a possible move I kind of just want to be prepared and have stuff packed waiting. I've had a look at lists online, and have tried trawling back through here but I have a habit of forgetting where I have gotten too.

Is there any things I should make sure is packed and things I can miss out.

    Baby's Bag
    -Nappies - newborn
    -Cotton wool balls
    -Body suits/vest 2/3
    -Scratch mittens
    -Booties/socks
    -Baby blanket
    -Nappy sacks
    -Muslin squares 2/3
    -Going home outfit

    Mine
    -Nighty/Tshirt 2/3
    -Big pants 3/4 comfy pairs
-Mini toiletries inc lip balm, face wipes, toothbrush etc
    -Birth plan/notes
    -Maternity/Nursing bra
    -Comfy clothes for leaving
    -Maternity pads
    -Breast pads
    -Books/magazines
    -Charger
    -Snacks

I know there is probably stuff missing, any help/hints would be great :)

I've downloaded the Boots app so will see what offers/vouchers there is on there. I also joined the Morrison' baby club and got a print off voucher for an additional 500 points when buying any baby product. Means I am only 100 or so off £25 voucher which is a bonus.

Good lists April- I may steal them! The things I would add are
baby wipes (although I know some don't like)
cotton wool pads as some say easier than the balls
maybe more muslin clothes as some babies can get through loads (my oldest nephew threw up loads, new one hardly at all)
    nappy cream
    nursing pillow
    flipflops
I'm taking an eye mask and ear plugs in case I'm in for monitoring or induced and want some sleep!
paracemetamol/ ibuprofen- I've heard of some women who wanted it after and found it easier if they had their own
    camera (if don't use phone)
Straw for drinking if I don't want to sit up (that may be ridiculous, but I know other times in hospital it has been needed!)
    Warm socks
    Headphones

I'm sure I also read a suggestion somewhere, possibly on here, to make a second bag at home for if you need to stay in longer you can just direct OH to pick up the new bag, rather than rely on them to pack you some more clothes and then end up with innapropriate pants etc!

All quiet on here. Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Any news cats?

Not much to report here, just had a weekend in and have done first coat of paint in the soon to be nursery after evicting OH's desk from it which is now set up in the spare room. Had hoped to also paint the landing and stairs, but underestimated the prep needed the and overestimated my energy! Hopefully we'll get that done next weekend and then we'll probably need a couple of weekends to plane doors and paint all the woodwork before we can finally order new carpets and buy nursery furniture.

Same here penguin, painted a mist coat on the nursery today. Hope to get DH to do ceiling one day this week and then maybe paint the colour one day next weekend.
Just finished skirting in our bedroom too. Prep work takes the longest!

I went to the baby show yesterday , really enjoyed it!

Bought the vista pram and car seat & base.
Lidl had a goody bag with £5 off £25 this month - their baby week starts the 16th March
There was a goody bag for £5 with lots of stuff totaling over £40 supposedly.
Picked up three free MAM bottles and a sunvisor.
Also picked up bundles of bibs - 6 for £10(Zippy) 16 for £20 (funky giraffe)

Hey all no news here starting to feel big and impatient now even though I have a week til due date! Did most of my mat leave jobs in the first three days off last week so have a horrible feeling I will be grumpy by the end of this week....!!

Trying to see the positives though in that it is now definitely less than 3 weeks until Baby B will be here :-) we're just well and truly ready!
Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 2017

Fingers crossed cats! I have 2 friends due the same day as you and they are similarly impatient, one of them went 2 weeks over with her first and has said she def doesn't want that to happen again!

Vanilla- thanks for the heads up about lidl. That's our local store and where we do most of our shopping so will definitely have a look and am hoping their nappies are good (mumsnet voted them best, but I know fit varies according to baby)

Thanks for the additions Penguin added them to my list.

Thansk Vanilla for the heads up on maternity pads etc, popped into Boots at the weekend and managed to pick up a few bits on the list. Also downloaded the app, which was handy to have the vouchers on.

Cats fingers crossed you go soon.

Spent the weekend down in Letchworth visiting my friend, was so good seeing her but I am so glad to be home. Like others I totally overestimated the amount of energy I have these days. Splurged on a pair of Sweaty Betty leggings and so glad I did. They are so comfortable. I am going to wear them until they fall to pieces.

Also realised this morning I am potentially into single figures for the amount of working weeks I have left which is scary. Baby is properly on the move these days too, so its nice that OH can feel him most days.

Hope everyone else is ticking along nicely.

I've definitely found cotton wool pads easier than balls overall. You can actually wipe with them and they don't lose bits of fluff. I hope everyone is keeping well!

I would also pack lucozade sport drink - not for the drink necessarily, but the sports cap bottles. They kept me hydrated during labour as you can drink at any angle and they can't spill like a cup with a straw either.

Yep cotton pads over balls every time. Cheaper from Aldi than balls and much much easier to wipe with!
