Hi all, as quite a few sites I've been reading lately have told me I should be packing my hospital bag around now (I'm 30 weeks so I'm sure it's a bit premature yet), I've been starting to think about things like maternity pads to go in it. Does anyone have any that are recommended or in a way, more importantly avoided? I used kotex night time pads from poundland when I had my daughter, but didn't have any stitches etc then, so need to consider that this time.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Hi ladies, really sorry for the delay in updating but the last few days have been a bit of a blur. I am pleased to announce that little Natalie Rebekah Jane Trelfa was born at 19.39 Friday after going in to be induced Thursday evening as I was 42 weeks (was supposed to be gone in Thursday morning but they were busy.) needed a little assistance right at the end with a forceps delivery at the end as I had been awake for so long I was absolutely exhausted and had nothing left in the tank and she was getting tired too.House purchased November 2013

Aw congrats Rachel!! Lovely name! Enjoy getting to know your little lady!
How is everyone? I had my 36 week midwife appointment yesterday and thankfully baby has moved and is no longer breech! Head down as she should be - woo! The midwife asked me if I'd thought about the type of birth I want and I said yes but then she didn't ask me anything else...does she need to know in advance or will we just deal with that when I'm actually in labour? I thought we'd have discussions about it but she just moved onto he next thing!0 -
sexymouse I used boots own thick maternity pads to stRt with as the padding helped... After a couple of weeks I used always night ones, as they were big but thin so great for nighttime. Yes bear in mind if you have stitches then mTernkty ones are apparently softer than normal ones. My stitches were irritated by all pads at one point though.
Califig is also very good at helping you go to the loo after too!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Congratulations Rachel! I hope you're both doing well.
Sexymouse, I liked natracare organic maternity pads. Very thick and soft for the first couple of days until you're ready for something a bit lighter.0 -
I just bought some of the Superdruig own brand maternity pads as it's next to my work so I'd just popped in the week I decided to pack my bag! I wonder if I should invest in some better ones??
Last day at work for me today. Really mixed emotions about it...I'm looking forward to having a rest before baby comes as I'm shattered but I'm going to miss everyone and all the chat etc. I also work for the same company as my husband and 7 years later we still see each other most lunch times so I'll miss that - pathetic as that may sound!
They did a baby shower for us earlier which was hilarious, played a few games and got loads of lovely gifts...just made me feel even more emotional!0 -
Congratulations Rachel, hope you and your little lady are doing well.
My hospital bag is about half packed (well, have about half the things I need chucked in it), will do it properly after Christmas. I've got 2 packs of maternity pads from Boots, no idea if they'll be any good but they were the only ones I could find in town.
Had a growth scan last week, baby is doing fine and around the 50th centile. Going back for another at the end of the month, so my little boy will be happy that he gets to come - he missed last week's as he was at preschool and he wasn't impressed!0 -
I've also got a growth scan next week big (Wednesday) and my son is coming along to see his brother for the first time. He's also missing nursery.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Everyone seems to be having a growth scan, it's not been mentioned to me! Is this something everyone gets? Don't like to miss out! Haha!0
