Hi All,
Long time no post! In a nutshell, our baby boy Charlie arrived early at 36+5, 6lb 7oz and is now 9 days old!
It's been a bit of a rollercoaster but all is fine and he is amazing. I'll post properly when I get a few mins to tell the full story.
Hope you are all doing well and sending lots of love to all for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year XxxMancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0 -

Thanks all, its all still very bizarre but wonderful! He is a little gem, I can't believe i'm a Mum at last.
My waters broke one night after our last antenatal class, just as I was getting into bed. Called the hospital and they said as I was under 37 weeks I'd have to come in and stay in, contractions began about midnight, I was 5cm by 6am, 10cm by 11am and he was born just after 1pm.
We had to stay in hospital for 5 nights as he developed jaundice which was quite stressful as he had to spend 48 hours on a heat pad, it was heartbreaking at the time but he has continued to thrive since then and is putting on weight steadily. I was very lucky to have a natural birth and only a stitch for my trouble.
I am thinking of you all and can't wait to see who's next! xxMancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0 -
Wow MancMama, congrats! Hope you had a lovely Christmas with little Charlie. At least the antenatal classes would have been fresh in your mind!0

Well a little update from me (not baby news yet, as too early). I'm 33+4 today. My growth scan before Christmas went well and luckily he's so far not looking like a giant baby (my son was 9lb 7) - he's looking to be around 8lb if he continues on the line he's been following, provided he doesn't go overdue.
My iron levels were low at 28 weeks so I was put on ferrous fumarate tablets (1 a day), however, my consultant said that dose would only maintain my levels so I had to increase it to 2 a day. This hasn't been easy on my tummy though, despite taking them with food.
I've seen a physio a couple of times as I have pelvic girdle pain and she gave me a special support belt, but it hasn't really helped sadly. I'll be seeing her again in January so hopefully she'll be able to manipulate me further to help that way (the area I need support on keeps changing each time my pelvis decides to pop or crunch).
Christmas Day was rubbish for me as I woke at 2am with a vomiting bug, which I'm slowly getting over now. Fortunately my husband was able to take my son to my parents house and I spent most of the day sleeping which really helped and they were all able to open their presents still. Luckily it hasn't affected the baby and triage said to just maintain fluids and not go in, so I avoided a trip to the hospital at least.
On a positive note, this afternoon I'm starting my first hypnobirthing class at home (a friend is a teacher and is coming over at 2pm). I'm really looking forward to it.
I've also bought quite a few bits for my hospital bag, so will start washing baby clothes etc soon so I can actually pack it properly. Quite a few people have been having their babies early recently so I want to be prepared in case (especially as this is baby no 3 and could be a quicker labour).
How's everyone else doing?Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Mouse I'm so glad all is going well, bar the vom bug! I am so excited for you xMancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0

Congrats mancmama! Welcome to the world baby Charlie!
I also have similar news! Our baby girl, Georgia, was born on 21st December - 11 days early and she's now a week old! It was a bit of a shock but it turned out what the midwife told me was the mucus plug coming away was actually amniotic fluid and I was leaking from the Sunday evening. When I woke up my contractions were already lasting a minute and were only three mins apart so the maternity unit told me to get in there asap. I went from3cm to fully dilated in two hours so there was no time for any drugs, gas and air only! Third stage labour lasted 13 mins which is apparently a record for a first baby in the hospital so I had loads of nurses coming in to high five me afterwards lol!
The first couple of nights were tough and I really struggled with lack of sleep. She is great during the day but really unsettled at night for some reason. My husband has been amazing though and I have no idea how I'd have got through this without him!
All that said, she is amazing. Absolutely perfect. And her face just melts me so she is completely worth it!0
