Thanks Pinkpetal and newcook for the welcome!
It does seem to be pretty quiet just now. I hope you're all well?
I'm not long back from my GP again today getting a second opinion for these itchy spots/rash that I have. That's over 2 weeks I've had it now and it's driving me nuts and keeping me awake.
The heat seems to flare it up and it is worst on my chest again. This doctor has said it is pregnancy related dermatitisI've never suffered any skin conditions but I do have sensitive skin.
I have now been prescribed an antihistamine and bath oil for the itch and been told to keep cool during the night and use the emollient prescribed last week.
She has said that it should clear up on it's own and if it doesn't within a couple of weeks just to go back and see her.
Fingers crossed as it is really getting me down and couldn't face the thought of another 15 weeks of this until baby is born!!!0 -
I'm here!
Sorry to hear that Clara - how annoying! I'm almost 27 and a half weeks now, officially past the "3 months to go" mark as well as our due date is 12th March - not that I'm naive enough to think she'll come on that day!
I'm still doing well, finding bending down a bit harder now but otherwise all good. Bump still neat, not put on much weight and keeping fit and active so can't complain really!
Can't wait to hear of some more babies arriving from you all soonxx

Hiya! Hope everyone is doing well
I'll be 31 weeks tomorrow, time is flying by at the moment. My bump has become a lot more obvious now, I've had a few people comment on it this week.
I was wrapping Christmas presents earlier and it's a good job I labelled things as I went along because I now have no idea what's in most of them - good old baby brain! I almost wrapped a couple of things I'd bought for my hospital bag this morning too! :rotfl:
Hope your prescription helps Clarabell. I developed a rash on my hands and arms after my son was born (think it's because I was washing my hands constantly) and it was so itchy and uncomfortable. Fingers crossed yours clears up soon!0 -
Hi everyone, how are we all? It's so quiet on here just now!
I had my 38 week midwife appointment today and apparently the head is 4/5 engaged...whatever that means! I now don't have another appointment til 5th Jan which is 4 days after my due date. I thought they'd want to see you more regularly towards the end! Since last night I've felt like I was leaking, at first I thought I'd wet myself but it was just clear. I woke up at 3am feeling like I was having a heavy period but again it was just clear. I've had to wear a sanitary towel and change it every hour or so. But the midwife said this is normal and is probably just the mucus plug coming away. I've only to phone them if it is discoloured or looks like there's blood. I feel quite anxious about this, surely it's not normal!
I've also had a terrible cold for the last week so am way behind on everything I said I was going to do. Less than two weeks to go and the nursery isn't finished and the baby has no hospital bag packed. I need to get a move on!0 -

Just popped on to mention this happened to me with my second son, years ago but I thought I was just leaking urine. When my contractions started and I got to the hospital they found out my waters had gone.It does not always go in a big gush.I had to have an emergency caesearean because they said there is more chance of infection if the waters have gone.0 -
I'm here! I check most days, but it is indeed quiet. Hope that's because everyone is just blooming and doing well?!
Over 28 weeks here now...crazy! Midwife on Thursday then will be 30 weeks by the time I go back to work in the new year and 8 working weeks left - eek!
We have done NOTHING so far. I own 2 baby outfits and some Bambino Mio nappies I picked up in the Black Friday deals. That's it. Suppose I should start thinking really...!
Still feeling really good with the exception of some hip pain from sleeping on my side, but really can't complain. Even still in some non maternity clothes! Definitely growing by the day though so think I'll be ready to wind down in the new year.
Hope to hear some news soonx

pink petal, 4/5 engaged means that 4/5 of the head is down in your pelvis. 4/5 palpable means that the midwife can feel 4/5 of the baby's head above your pelvis, so only 1/5 is engaged.
My waters also never broke dramatically, just trickled after I'd started having contractions by then. It's common to get increased discharge but your mucus plug would be mucus-y to the best of my knowledge and experience. I don't reckon you'll have long left now! Take care0 -
Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well and looking forward to Christmas?!
I've not been on for a week or so! I got myself into a bit of a state at the weekend, upsetting myself with this stupid rash I've got. It seems to have died down a good bit now that I have stopped using the moisturiser the doctor gave me! The rash is still there but the itch isn't as intense.
Feeling a bit cheerier today! It was my birthday yesterday, our cot is being delivered today (got it on offer!) and only another 3 working days until I have 2 weeks offI'll also be reducing to a 3 day working week after New Year as I need to use all my annual leave for next year before my mat leave. Then I will finish 2 weeks before my due date :j
They are holding interviews tomorrow for my job (fixed term contract) to get cover until I return. It feels very weird :rotfl:0 -
How exciting Clara!! Although a bit mean that your work makes you use holiday now, our year is Jan-Dec but I can carry mine over - so I'm using annual leave to do 4 day weeks in Feb then finishing 2 weeks before, but Mat Leave won't start til literally my due date (unless she comes early!)
So glad the rash is improving - what are you going to do on your days off in the new year!?Officially Mrs B as of March 2013

My leave year is also Jan-Dec but we are not allowed to carry any over. Ideally I would have loved to add them onto the end of my mat leave but this solution was the next best thing.
It works out quite well though, going down to 3 days will mean that I'm not as tired in the run up to baby coming and will have a full 2 weeks off before my due date and my mat leave doesn't actually start until my due date (unless like you say, baby comes early!)
I don't have any plans for the extra days off as yet but it will mean I don't have to cram all the housework into the weekend for a start :rotfl:0
