I know. But it's silly. I was timing the contractions just with stop watch on phone. Recording 'laps' - gaps between and duration of contractions.
But even though I told them the exact times they still tried to say oh no it'll be hours and hours yet.
Is blood sugar was low at the first check - but much better at the second and still good at the third. He's been breast feeding really well.
He went on like a magnet first time. Hes had a couple really good long feeds since then.
They gave him some formula milk to boost his blood sugar up - because doctor said so - even though it meant having to take him off the breast while he was feeding. Midwife had wanted to try expressing into cup from the other breast to top him up while he was feeding.
Anyway he hated drinking the formula from the cup - should have seen the disgust on his little face! Made him really windy.
He's really amazing - very handsome and he's just so lovely and calm! just looking around taking it all in (even though he can barely see!)
When midwife had to !!!!! his foot to get blood for the test - he whimpered for a few seconds then just calmed himself down.
He was wrapped up like a pass the parcel so many layers - with his little head poking out. To keep him warm. The one time he did start to cry - I just picked him up straight away and he stopped within a few seconds.
Aww I miss them!! Just couple hours left ten I can get back. Must make sure I bring plenty of food for myself this time.
My OH was so amazing! Really brave - she coped so well. I wouldn't say she made it look easy - but she just got on with it.
We were talking with the midwife about possible further pain relief - as they not offering drugs constantly! I suggested we wait the 20 minutes til her next examination and see where we're at first - didn't want her to use the injection too early. But then it turned out she was pretty much already there!
The active labour was easy - the pushing was hard - connections several minutes sort by that stage and she was just exhausted bless her. She'd not slept that night - or the night before very well - or the one before that because of her sore throat so she had very little energy.
She was just so brave and didn't give up - or even really complain - probably too knackered to.

Hahah, I forgot the say in the last post - you were right! Glad everything happened while you were at home too. I hope OH's cold is on the way out.
Really pleased to hear that you're all doing well and baby is feeding well too. Do you know when they'll both get home?0 -
Aww Freddie, you'll never be bored again as just watching your child is amazing.
My pushing stage was 1.5 hours so definitely not the best. I don't think being on your back is the best position for it.
I found the labour made both my OH and I so proud of each other and so close to each other. There's nothing like it. I hope you're back in there with them soon.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
Aw Freddie your post is so lovely and full of love it brought tears to my eyes*

Glad to here baby is doing well freddie. Oh blood tests on babies are horrid. I hated it when seb had to have them. He had ones which were just a quick !!!!! and a couple of drops of bloods, but the ones where they needed more blood was horrible to watch as he hated it and they tried to squeeze enough blood out his foot to put a reasonable amount in the tube but it took ages. He was fine with his cannula and having iv antibiotics it was just the proper blood tests he hated.
Hope they aren't in for too long Freddie.
I agree kynthia, it's definitely made me and oh even closer as oh has been absolutely amazing and I know he is so proud of our little boy and proud of me for everything I had to go through (both the ttc journey and this pregnancy and labour).0 -
Aww you guys are all making me feel mushy
My poor DH has had mood swings from me this last couple of weeks, although in general I don't think I've been bad at all! So he has had it fairly easy until now
Counting down the days until I finish work... my temp cover is useless and driving me insane, I literally just want to bash my head on my desk repeatedly. Got the in-laws coming down this weekend for my baby shower so lots to do when I get home, tidying for them and baking for tomorrow. We finished decorating the nursery last night, and it looks fab... just need a light shade and curtains now but not in any rush as the baby won't be in there for a good few months anyway.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Freddie!! Huge congratulations on your new arrival, and a massive well done to Mrs Freddie on a brilliant labour. I am so happy to read your posts, what a journey you've been on to get your beautiful boy, and its only just getting started!
That's really made my day, enjoy every minute and I hope they are home with you asap XxMancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0 -
He's snuggled under my shirt right now.
OH is exhausted she hasn't slept. He fed for nearly 4 hours. She's had to nag people to get them to do his tests at the right time. Stitches hurting.
So I'm trying to give her chance to sleep.
Anyway his blood sugar is fine. They're just monitoring his temp from now on. He's passed all the health checks like hearing etc.Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

aww Freddie, that is fabulous news! congratulations to you and mrs freddie!
psychopathbabble - could you add me to the list please? EDD is 2nd Jan!
Im also on the countdown to finishing work - I love my job but the closer it gets to my leave date, the closer it gets to meeting our daughter!
scary to think that I'm now in single weeks until I leave work for 9 months!!!0 -
Due date today, though technically still a few days to go in my mind. No sign yet and I'm quite certain baby still hasn't engaged. It's making me a bit nervous in case he's too big or the risk of cord prolapse if my waters break first but there's not a lot I can do apart from the birthing ball and trying not to sit about.
I've added you on newcook, and updated freddie to the birth list :j
