  • Cor it seems like forever since I was on here! Just popping on to say baby Robin arrived on the 1st July (his due date) weighing 8lb 8. Ventouse delivery with episiotomy and second degree tear (ow!) but he's doing well and so am I. Good luck to everyone and lovely to see some graduates who I remember speaking to a few months ago x

Thanks everyone :) I've doing pretty well, I've had a pretty easy ride through pregnancy, *touch wood* it continues! I'm due on 21st November and just starting to feel pretty big and uncomfortable too now! I finish work next Friday the 14th October and I cant wait, although I only work in an office sitting down all day is so uncomfortable and I know what you mean about leaning forward and baby going crazy!

I wasn't feeling baby moving much last night and this morning so I had an appointment at the maternity unit at lunch time to check he was all ok, turns out as soon as I get on that monitor the little monkey starts moving and wiggling all about! Typical, I'm just glad all is OK as I also have anterior placenta which makes feeling the movements slightly more difficult anyway!

I hope your all OK girls, not too long left! :)

The scan went well and baby is measuring fine, not too big and they didn't have any concerns. The consultant said it made no difference if he was engaged so didn't even bother checking, it put my mind at ease as he obviously wasn't too concerned. I'm due to be getting a sweep tomorrow at 40+5 and was was hoping something might happen before then. I guess there's time yet!

I hope everyone else is well.

  • Beckyy, hope things get moving soon!

Katy, your pregnancy sounds like mine *touch wood*! I also don't really feel baby moving much due to placenta location, mostly it's just when it's pushing it's bum up and out! Hope the rest of your pregnancy stays well :)

Back to thinking about names again now. We had sort of decided on two, but then one of them (Isla) is very very popular this year and now I'm not sure... it's more difficult as DH wants a scottish name so our list to choose from isn't exactly unlimited :(

Isla is top of our list too. It's been my favourite name for years but typically gets popular when we're finally expecting! I really tried to find something else I liked but nothing came close. I checked the 2016 baby records and it's not even in the top 10 where I live so might be worth checking your local records too. I also spoke to friends dotted about all over the country and most of them didn't know of a single Isla!

Thanks, I will have a look. Across the whole of England it has shot up from being unpopular to the top 10 in the space of 2-3 years :(

It's so annoying isn't it! If you love a name try not to let the popularity put you off though. I was chatting to a friend about this very subject and she was telling me somebody she knows was put off a particular name because it was so popular. She named her daughter something else but then 6 months down the line couldn't get used to it and they ended up going and changing the little girls name!
