Congrats all that have had their babies!

My two are 24 weeks now and we begin weaning this week! Eek!

We chose Isla as a middle name for Niamh. I've always loved the name but was aware that it was becoming very popular around here.

One of DH's oldest friends had their baby girl yesterday. Guess what they called her?

Isla!

It wouldn't be a huge issue calling our baby Isla too as we don't see each other much at all (they live up in Scotland) but it would look a bit strange!

PinkPetal, the next to me feet fold flat against the bed and then you have to secure it with a strap. We have a divan bed with a drawer underneath and ours fits fine

ooh thanks isla, from the pics the feet looked really long. I'll need to go and test one out in store then as they are much more reasonably priced than the snuzpod!

Hello all how is everyone?

We did a water birth workshop on Friday (not sure it was worth it) and an NHS parenting class on Saturday which was good as we got to have a look at one of the rooms with a birth pool in it other than that, we had a fairly lazy weekend. I finish work on Thursday and can't wait!

I am absolutely shattered. We went to a caravan park for the weekend and took my daughter to Peppa Pig World while in the area. I was actually allowed on some of the rides with her which was nice, but queuing and walking around all day was exhausting! The look on her face was worth it too.

I'm sure baby has had another growth spurt as my bump seems really big now. I still find her movements painful though. I also feel sad as I finish work on Thursday and I'm probably never going back as my whole department is being made redundant in spring. So after more than 12 years I'll be out the door and job hunting on maternity leave next summer/autumn. I worry I'm going to miss out on the support they offer exiting employees too.

Kynthia can you have a chat with the HR department before you go and see if they can offer you the support that they will be giving the other employees? I don't see why you should miss out just because you are on maternity. Good luck.

Hi, I hope everyone is keeping well?

Baby arrived! We're both doing good. I woke up to contractions, they got to about 4/5 minutes apart and lasting about a minute... had a bath, then another bath, then another... Managed to wait about 3 hours then went to the hospital expecting to be told to go back home but was 9cm! All the MWs were amazing and it was much better experience than all the stories I'd been told and was expecting! Feeding is going but having its challenges, I'm finding positioning quite difficult so seeing the MW that specialises in BF later to try and sort it out before I get too sore.
