Good luck today emz :-)
Samtoby; on both my uni courses we could go over the word count by up to 10% with no penalty and tables/figures/graphs weren't counted (I think its because they are the equivalent of images in essays/work)
Slept much better last night; think its partly subconscious because bf is now home and partly because with him in the bed I have him to prop myself up against so I'm more comfortable! Hehe
So glad I only have today and tomorrow at work as over the weekend I have become some unbelievably uncomfortable! Maybe that's subconscious too as I was fine until Saturday but I can't bear to wear those flipping maternity jeans anymore and most of my tops now don't fit right as bump has moved down meaning tops pull up over it!
Invited people from work to go for a meal on Friday (figured its the best weekday as we have three offices) and out of my 19 or so colleagues only 4 (maybe 5 if one makes his mind up) can make it/be bothered! Would usually take that to heart but I know at least two of them would come in a heartbeat if they weren't working their second jobs and the third has had plans for ages. Was going to cancel but I think it will be fine to still have it - it will be me, the chief exec, and three colleagues from my department...that will be fine right? What are peoples opinions?
Sounds awful but I'm not expecting anything from work when I leave - I think I will take in some cake pops tomorrow (nice and quick to make tonight) but I will be really surprised if I get even just a card! I don't mind not getting one, what I mind is every person gets treated so differently by everyone; not everyone gets a card for birthdays/special occassions from us unless I instigate it usually. The others cherry pick who gets treated nicely and who gets ignored for want of a better word************************************

Good luck with the induction Emz.
I am now 1 day overdue and utterly fed up. Went 5 days over last time but this time it doesn't feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel. But it can't stay in there forever!0 -
Good luck today Emz!
Just popping in with my suggestions/recommendations for hospital bag things, many have already been mentioned but worth mentioning again.
Flip flops are a definite- yes, for going for a shower but also I ended up on a drip and my feet ballooned because of it, they wouldn't fit into my shoes so I was so glad I had my flip flops to go home in!
Eye mask- you won't get much sleep on the ward as it is what with crying babies and women and midwives popping in every hour or so, but the eye mask at least helped to block out the light so I could get a little sleep.
Lansinoh- I hadn't packed this and was lucky to be given some little sample packs but pack it just in case! Little man had made a mess of me within a few hours so the cream was much needed!
Witch Hazel gel - seriously cannot stress how vital this is! Put a good squeeze on your pad and enjoy the relief! It's on 3 for 2 at Boots at the moment so stock up.
Vaseline and mints - I found the G&A made my lips and mouth really dry so it was good to freshen up! I also vommed a few times so the mints were pretty vital after that too!
Sweets and drinks - mainly to keep OH going as the focus is so much on keeping your energy levels up that the poor men get forgotten!
Big knickers - and lots of them (that you expect to throw out later!) I bought a 5 pack of big granny briefs and just chucked them all in my case and I'm glad I did as I had to change them a few times over my hospital stay. I was also complimented on my giant pants by the midwife!
0-3 clothes for baby as well as newborn - it's better to be prepared than caught short! My not-so-little man was too big for his newborn clothes (well, they fit, but was a bit of a wriggle to get him in and it's a lot easier to dress a new baby when there's a bit of room in the clothes!) and I was so pleased that I'd thrown in some 0-3 stuff as an afterthought having heard about a friend having a big baby and not having packed any clothes big enough to fit him.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I'm the same re clothes, jumpers are ok but it's too hot for those now & my one maternity t-shirt is starting to expose my stomach and jeans getting too tight so I'm mainly wearing dresses now!
Lush I think you should just go for the meal and hope someone sorts out a leaving pressie!0 -
