FireyFirenze we had a private 4D scan at meet your baby in Leeds - I was really keen to see baby again before birth as I felt 20 (or up to 22weeks!) was way too long to wait.

I'm glad we had it, and that my mum and dad could come as they couldn't come to either of the nhs scans, but it was weird. We bought a groupon voucher for £30 or so (gift from bf) which I think was good value for money but I wouldn't have paid the £70+ it would have been without the voucher.

I had to have chocolate and lucozade before the scan to 'wake baby up' however that theory failed as she slept through the whole thing! It was lovely to see her features and watch her suck her thumb and yawn and stretch though - and we all said she doesn't half look like little niece in the face!

The company doesn't check/confirm gender again at the 4D scan unless you pay extra but the sonographer did check the back, heart, limbs, placenta etc :-)

Just catching up with you all. 37 weeks now and have spent my morning eating ice cream :)

I pretty much have my hospital bag packed but still to get Witch Hazel - what is it actually for ?

    In mine I have

    Nighties (2)
    dressing gown
    Open back slippers
    bed socks
    bobbles and kirbies
    dry shampoo
shower cap ( as will want a shower but want to keep my long hair dry)
toiletries ( just got some minatures)
    toothbrush and paste
contact lenses ( I wear dailies)
spare glasses ( as if wearing my lenses when I GO I will likely forget my specs which wouldn't be good as my lenses would dry out in the hospital)
    maternity pads
    breast pads
    kindle
    spare phone charger

    Still to go in
    Makeup
battery powered fan - need to get one
water spray - need to get
    flannel - still to get
jug for water - still to get

I feel like I have loads but would rather be over prepared as I get anxiety at times when I feel underprepared.

I bought the witch hazel following the suggest of someone on here, bigz I think maybe, for use on maternity pads if you have stitches/general soothingness.

Think I might add a flannel to mine actually.

Need some snacks too - will get flavoured waters, cereal bars, mini malt loaves, treat size chocolates and some fruit I think. Wonder if there's anyway I can have ice lollies in the hospital?!

Forgot to add; I've stuck in an extra purse (old one I keep for travelling) with some cash in so I know I have both notes and change to send bf/mil (no doubt shell be camped out at the hospital!) to get me/bf any little bits we fancy from the shop/cafe

I've yet to add snacks as if I buy them now I will eat them :rotfl: I do however have a list of what we want.. there is a 24 hour Tesco 5 mins from the hospital so may just give the list to a relative when we are heading to hospital and they can bring it to me.

One of my friends said her DH came home and said er where did you get those chocolates from I thought we only got one pack the other day for the hospital bag?! And then she looked at him and was like err yeah we did :rotfl:

There aren't any food shops that near to ours & the hospital shops are really pricey although there is an m&s in there, which isn't as bad and good for sandwiches etc but I know what DH is like for food so we have a bag full of cereal bars, dried fruit and chocolate snacks!

Just had a lovely pub lunch, it's 19c here today! Everyone out in their gardens and stuff. Hope it stays!

    Hi Everyone,

Just been catching up on the last few pages as we were away for a couple days in Leeds which was good for shopping but not good for my legs after lots of walking lol
I did manage to get a few maternity bits from primark in the Trinity shopping centre - our primark in Nottingham doesn't stock them - and was nice to get a Baby on Board top as our bumps nickname is Bob :-)
I also picked up some of the cussons bump shampoo, conditioner and shower gel which were all half price at boots and although I've only used the shampoo and conditioner once I did feel like my hair was much softer and shinier so thumbs up from me so far.

As for Bob there's been lots of movement which still feels weird but in a lovely way and I find it amazing when I lay down and watch my belly move lol It's also nice when hubby can see it to.

As for me I only have 22 work days left before I finish work but that's because I have 6 weeks annual leave to take and then my maternity leave starts on 25th May and I'm lucky that I'm able to take the full year off work so no work for 58 weeks!!!

Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday we are having lovely sunny weather here and long may it continue :-)

After all my busy bits yesterday I had planed to spend today on the sofa and doing a bit of baking however the super nice weather has motivated me and I have some washing outside on the airer, all the windows open and I've cleaned through! As well as having done some baking and I have some meat in roasting for tea!

I've Also painted my nails, rejigged the hospital bags and tidied some of my clutter from the end of the bed. Now I just have clean laundry to put away and washing up to do :-) I haven't done any ironing in well over 8 weeks (or it feels that long) so I might do some tonight...this must be nesting!

Have also realised exactly how uncomfortable my maternity jeans are :-( really wish I had more leggings/ dresses!

    Hi samtoby,

Sorry to be a pain but just noticed that my name on the list is not right there seems to be an extra 'l' in there?

    Clare* :A
  • I'm currently in my garden with OH who is next to me reading a book :) can't believe how lovely today has been, it's beautiful!

I'm very jealous of everyone being able to nest. I really hope we can move into our new place soon so I can start cleaning and nesting.

Baby has been going crazy today too! She seems to be turning herself around (hopefully not into a breech position!) this morning I felt a sore bit on my bump and pressed down gently on it, and it must have been her elbow or knee or something because I felt her move underneath my finger!! And then when I took my hand away she moved back into the prior position!! She must have been comfy like that! Unfortunately it's not so comfy for me, lol!

OH has also been laughing at me for waddling today. I think this is officially the start of heavily pregnant me. Roll on my due date!

I might feel brave enough to post my hospital bag list next week when I'm officially 30 weeks. Then you can all give me tips on what on earth it is I've put on the list that's unnecessary because mine seems so much longer than all the ones I've seen so far!!!

Hope everyone else is having a lovely Sunday!
