  • The cot has been delivered, yay! The delivery company called me to tell me there may be parts missing so we have to open it all up to check... BOO!

JTR we probably won't use the nursery for ages anyway, but I didn't fancy having to sort out all our boxes of junk when sleep deprived and emotionally wrecked :) Luckily we don't have to do any major renovation as it's a new build house, just need to decide what painting/decorations we want.

Haha I did wonder if I was jinxing myself but so far nothing. I've popped to town to pay in a cheque and get some nursing tops from h&m. I also got 3 big baggy tshirts from Primark for £2 each in the sale to go over the nursing tops, and a nice new colourful stripey large fleece blanket to cwtch under during night feeds. We won't use nursery for few months yet but I wanted it set up and I will do night feeds in there on the nursing chair etc.

Knackered now. Had to sit down twice on the old lady benches in town cos my back was hurting! Home now so going to rest up in front of crap tv for few hrs.

  • I have box 2 of 2 but not a box 1 of 2... And the delivery company don't know where it is. I highly advice against using mothercare until they change their delivery company... This is getting ridiculous now. It's a good job we have a while to get sorted as this stress could induce labour!

    Hello everyone,

We had our first antenatal class on Monday. Was fine, all stuff we already knew - just healthy eating info etc.

When we go back to start the ones in September it will be the more practical stuff. Hopefully we'll be able to get to that before baby comes as she'll be 36 weeks at the start of September!

He's doing amazing movements now. Where here whole belly wobbles and shakes and juts out at funny angles. Like he's doing some interpretive dance. It's great to see and feel. I had a listen yesterday as I'd read you can hear the heartbeat with a stethoscope so was wondering if I might hear anything with my ear.

Just very loud thumping sound from him punching/kicking - it was very rhythmical!

I love Ikea, and all the furniture we have previously bought has lasted brilliantly. We already had a set of drawers and a unit with boxes both from Ikea in the room that's going to the nursery so we are going to get one of the wardrobes from the children section as it matches perfectly. We won't be getting the cot bed though until he is ready to go into his room, so probably next April time. It seemed pointless getting it now to then have to store it .

I've still got another 2weeks til my antenatal classes start, am looking forward to them though as I feel clueless at the moment so I hope they are useful.

Hope baby doesn't leave you waiting too long flutter.

Have a look on Amazon for a stethoscope. I picked a decent one up for about a tenner a while ago to put away for when we would be able to use it, and I can hear her now. I'm 35 weeks and first got to hear anything last week clearly. I can often hear the whooshing sound you hear at the hospital, I can't remember if it's blood flow or placenta or maybe both. But can now make the little fast heartbeat out too. But until last week I couldn't make anything out so think it does have to be quite late on.

Our nursing chair from them arrived damaged, it looked like the box had been dropped. It wasn't awful, a small scuff and 2 of the popper holders were bent so they wouldn't pop in. We got a 10% refund, which was fine for us as we'd paid with vouchers anyway but it's a shame to hear others have had problems too. I hope 1 of 2 shows up soon!

Congratulations! There's another thread for people 12-24 weeks. (Obviously post wherever you want..here or there) But this group is for people 24 weeks and over. It's great to find the other thread as everyone is at the same stage as you and going through the same things at the same time so you can compare notes. People from that group usually come here when they "graduate".

I did the same thing and posted here first when I was 12 weeks and people pointed me to the other thread instead of this one. It was a big help.

  • Crazy, i was posting here before I was 24 weeks as it doesn't say that it's for 24 weeks plus. I guess most of the conversation is not relevant unless you are further along though :)
