I don't know why but I won't use the supermarket own brand ones. I know they're probably fine, I just can't see them being as good. I'm the same with own brand lotions and baby oils and things like that. I'd rather go for a brand I know.
Weirdly if it's fruit and veg, cleaning things, biscuits, tablets..most other things, some I'm still picky on, things for us in general, I have no problem with any own brands. Just not for her.
It's strange, I took part in a live chat the other week for people in their third trimester. Get paid £40 for an hour or so typing/chatting to other mums to be about baby brands and what you like. And everyone else said the same, that apart from the mamia ones they felt like me about it. I think I'm just going off what friends and family have always used and told me are good or bad.Book a week challenge: 11/52. Competitions won in 2021: 120 -
Congrats Tata!
Aldi nappies are amazing. The in laws keep buying us pampers though and won't listen when we say they're nowhere near as good as Aldi! (personally I think it's because they know my parents buy us Aldi and they want to "one up" them!)
Aldi sensitive wipes are also brilliant. I've found that the Huggies wipes are incredibly dry and rough.
Our girls are 3 months old now, and they've decided tonight that they don't want to sleep, so it's taken us nearly three hours to get them to settle. I think their gums and the heat are to blame. They're coming along so well, S did an army crawl from me to OH last night. She doesn't have the strength in her arms to actually crawl but the desire is there!
btw anyone with a BHS still open near them, childrenswear is 50% off. We bought two raincoats in 18-24 months, and two pairs of 6-12 months pram shoes for about £30 altogether (plus 3 bottles of prosecco for Xmas!), the coats were £26 each full price! Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

Ladies, bit of a random one. I've got a few summer maternity dresses off eBay as its just too hot to wear jeans. However, being so hot my legs chafe
(hate admitting I don't have bambi legs!).. Can any of you ladies recommend any of the shape wear type shorts for maternity? I don't want actual shape wear, just something thin to wear under the dresses

Nothing worse then chub rub, on days that it is too hot for legging under my dresses I use "body glide" it is like a deordrant stick that you just apply and the balm helps stop the chafe, failing that evans I believe do some bloomer type pant things for this reason!Living in a superhero induced haze :A:A

Lulu - my little one had a terrible time settling tonight. We've chalked it up to the heat. Despite our best efforts the room was still 26.9 at 10.30pm. And because of neighbours smoking, we had to close the window!
I've Just reopened them now and it's already dropped to 25.7 and still dropping, thank god!

Congratulations tata and gelly on the births of your little girls! Hope you are recovering well
I've bought one pack of nappies from almost every maker - pampers, Morrisons, aldi, asda etc so I can see which I prefer. I have absolutely no allegiance to brands, such a false economy! I did buy a box of water wipes on the prime day last week and we bought two boxes of the aldi wipes in the last baby event.
Midwife today and hopefully booking my home birth assessment, doula bringing the pool next Monday and work finishes tomorrow, yay! Picking us isofix and pram from friend on Friday and then i think we are almost ready...
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

I can say that the water wipes are amazing for night time changes when you don't have the energy to go get cotton balls and water!
We bought lots of wipes and I plan on using them in a few weeks when baby MJ is a little bigger. I haven't bought any baby products as they smell amazing without anyways. Usually washing in water is better for their skin I think094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250

Psycho - ah I hear you. I found some great under shorts in Yours Clothing last summer. They are lightweight, silky and smooth. Much cooler than the Evans comfort shorts and they aren't shape wear so not restrictive. They aren't maternity ones but I've just rolled them under my bump as I've got bigger and they've worked fine.
These are them - http://www.yoursclothing.co.uk/white-thigh-smoother-brief-with-lace-detail-hem-p
Awful nights sleep, seems I can only manage 40mins on either side before I acheand before I could roll onto my back for a respite but now I can't breathe when I do that! And it was so hot. Dreading today's heat and being forced to stay indoors to shelter from it. Last night me and OH did manage to pop out for a walk around 9pm and and ice cream, yummy!

Thanks ladies, I will try your suggestions.
I don't envy you ladies that are further along than me... we had both bedroom windows open and the fan on last night and it was still too warm!
I forgot to mention (I think) that I am now just over 24 weeks so have officially graduated from the 12-24 threadIt's going so fast! We were watching my tummy move last night where baby was kicking me... I still don't feel a lot of movement but what I do feel is definitely stronger
We have our 4D scan next week and my in-laws and my mother figure (not my real mum, long story) are coming with us so that's exciting... we are worried we accidentally see whether it's a boy or girl though! I'm going to ask them to look at the scan first before showing us so they can just check they aren't revealing anything they shouldn't!
