Thank you for posting the info jtr2803, it's really helpful to hear and I will read up on the links you posted.

I'm glad BF is going well tattybubbly, are you getting much sleep between feeds? I've read alot about BF babies sleeping less at night because breastmilk is digested much quicker than formula so they get hungry sooner. The people who I know who FF do have babies who have slept a lot at night quite early on, and whilst I want to BF I am concerned about OH never being able to really help so getting very, very little sleep for quite some time and how I'll cope with it.

I'm glad it was helpful mancmama (lovely to hear you are expecting again!) and beckyy. I probably come across as anti iv antibiotics but I genuinely do get why people have them, it's just not something I want to do.

Was just looking at due date list and realised I'm actually third on list now with tata having her baby, eek!

Glad bfing is going well with little MJ.

Had my home birth assessment this morning and all signed off! They will attend from thus Saturday onward :T

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

Beckyy, tbh I've no idea. My friend has had two babies - both BF - one woke up regular as clockwork for feeds and would fall back to sleep whereas her second baby wouldn't sleep for more than 1 hour at a time for ages.

I've only been BF for 6 days - last night I got solid 4 hour sleep block, woke up for feed, nappy change and settling and then got another 2 hours, feed and nappy change and then back to sleep again. It was best night so far. It's physically exhausting - your providing nutrition for another person. But OH helps by getting up and doing the nappy changes, settling etc as well. He doesn't see it as a chance to do little - he does everything apart from feeding and feeds me and brings me my snacks etc..

I think once you have a baby sleep goes out the window! On the other side my baby is so impatient - I'd hate to have to wait and listen to her cry while making up a bottle.

Becky - you could always do a formula feed at night, your supply would just adjust accordingly, I started doing that after 8 weeks with first baby as I was completely sleep deprived. It did help us and we used to get a 4-5 hour stint then I would BF in the night and she would wake up every 2 hours after that.
