Ah yes it's so much easier being on maternity leave than working at mo. I can get jobs done in little chunks around appointments and naps!

    Hi all,
So sorry for the lack of posting from me. We have an utterly gorgeous baby girl called Jasmine Hope who arrived on Friday 8th July at 17.35 weighing 7lbs 4ozs.
Induction process started on Tuesday 5th but contractions didn't start until Thursday. It was a very long labour - 25 hours, and to be honest was pretty traumatic with reduced contractions at the end, catheterisation as I couldn't pee, an episotomy plus ventous delivery but she's here and she's wonderful.

Unfortunately I bled badly and ended up being rushed straight into theatre as I had a post partum haemorrhage plus both of us had infections so we had to stay in hospital for a few days for intravenous antibiotics and only got home on Weds.

My amazing husband has been our rock and I couldn't have got through it without him. He ended up at 'the business end' helping push my legs back so the midwife could focus on getting her out and is traumatised by what he saw but she is worth every second of it. They are currently snuggled up on the sofa next to me enjoying some precious skin to skin time.

Wishing you all the very best of luck for the future and a massive heartfelt thank you for all your love, support and kindness throughout the long journey we've been on.

Never give up, there's always hope.....

    Love Gelly xxxx

Oh that's reassuring flutter, let's hope it works for me too. I do hope so as I really want to take some of the pressure off my oh. Plus I'm looking forward to not getting up at 6 am plus having the odd nap, as I know this will stop when baby arrives!

    Congratulations Gelly.

I've also graduated from this thread - little MJ arrived via c section on Friday night due to my pre eclampsia becoming more symptomatic. OB was not happy about my blood work and higher blood pressure.

OB discharging me today hopefully, at the moment we are just focusing on our breastfeeding and getting to know each other.

She's a little chub at 7lbs 14oz - at 38 weeks I can imagine what she would have been if she got to 40 weeks! C section was actually not bad at all, OB did a fab job and I've healed well so far. Just down to paracetamol now with the pain but I did take whatever I could have got my hands on first 2 nights.

Best of luck to all you guys still waiting in there!
