Freddie - here in Wales you ring a specific community midwife to book them at 28wks. There is a sticker on the front of my maternity notes with the tel no. If you don't have this just ask the MW for the no and what to do.

  • Flutter, maybe buy the Katherine Graves book and have a read. That may help?

Freddie, you can look on the NCT website if you don't mind paying for them. Or you can ring your midwife and ask about them, they should really have mentioned them to you... I booked in for mine at my 20 week scan as I just walked down to the booking office after. Best to ring asap as they fill up quickly and so may not have space. My local hospital offers antenatal, hypnobirthing and feeding classes.

Psycho - I've ordered the book and cd, should come tomorrow. So hopefully that will have a bit more information.

I've also treated myself to a tablet, got the Kindle one that was on offer on Amazon yesterday. Figured it will keep me occupied during night feeds!

Thanks, did ask midwife, she just didn't really say anything helpful.

I'll call the children's centre to check.

Got the travel system today. It's great. Trying not to play with it. Just got everything out to check it was all there. Looks great though, very solid.

Just tried to put car seat in - multiple attempts - shame and failure. Had to watch a YouTube video showing how it's done!

Freddie- we booked ours in at about 22 weeks, the midwife had said to do it a bit later but I was ringing them anyway about my mat b1 so they booked my in then, ours are based at the birthing maternity unit that my midwife is based at.

Little one almost caused me a meltdown yesterday by being so quiet, and even eating lunch and a sugary drink didn't help, I left work early to then work at home but he was still fairly quiet but did move a little bit which reassured me and then today he has been moving about loads!! He kicked a lot as I was treating him to new bits in the next sale!!!

Glad the pushchair looks good Freddie. We should probably get ours out the box soon for a play and practice with the car seat!! We have the isofix base so hopefully that will make it a bit easier.

That's a shame flutter, we paid quite a bit for our course and I have to say a lot I already knew but that's because I've done so much reading and research already.

We practice most nights with hubby reading one or two scripts to me while I'm on my ball or laying in bed. I do pelvic floor and up breathing practice every day as well as listen to the positive birth affirmations. You still have time! I think the book is also a lot about the physical part of labour but that's because the more you know the less likely you are to fear I understand.

I've been doing pregnancy yoga for three months too and the breathing awareness and visualisations in that were good prep. I've also got a good idea now the triggers for calming me down, welcome to pm if you want to chat about it any further.

Hope gelly is doing OK and fingers crossed the bed rest helps your BP tata.

Only four more days in the office, hoping to start work on birth preferences next week as well as get my homebirth assessment done!

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

Had it at about 28 weeks. Had a bit of a panic that I'd been too late as a leaflet I got said book it at 30 weeks, but when I asked midwife and also the nurse they both said I had to have had t at the latest by 30 weeks. So booked me in right away for it.
