Flutter - have you been given any scripts to practice or tracks to listen to? Is the course a Katherine Graves one?

It's an NHS course so it's based on a few different people but hers is the main one. I bought her book and CD off Amazon too which should come Monday. We have been given scripts that we/OH
can read to me but tbh this would put me off hence buying the cd!

EEK I'm joint third now

We finally started the nursery bits n bobs today (thank the rain god for cancelling OH's cricket match! :D). We built the cot bed, unpacked all the packages and moved the furniture round til we liked it. I still need to do the cushion covers for the rocking chair and then we will move that up from the garage and take the futon that is currently in there downstairs, and need to do the wall stickers too. We also put together the moses basket stand and put that and the basket in our room. I also started the hospital bags!

Feels very real now, I had a cry when we finished the cot bed :o.

I'm suffering with horrid nausea again for the last 2 days, like I did in first trimester. I have resorted to wearing travel sickness bands again. And heartburn is attacking every evening too.

Hope you are all well x

Mia was 7lb 15oz at birth. Can't remember if I posted that before or not.

With regards to birth plans - I wrote one out in my notes for both vaginal birth and c-section (just in case), but was open to things going differently (which they did). However, I'm glad I did it as, despite things ending in an emergency c-section, they followed my wishes for delayed cord clamping and skin to skin contact with me, and then my husband when I became too unwell to continue holding baby. They wouldn't have done that if they hadn't known it was what I wanted (and I wasn't in a fit state to communicate it verbally at the time).

I have been tracking the travel system...it's somewhere between Dublin and here. Really lucking forward to it, first big baby thing to arrive!

Will have to take it for a test drive with OH's penguin toy :rotfl:

Flutterby was it you who got an Überchild?

All the talk of maternity leave reminded me - I'd been reading a few things on Glow (which is US based) about maternity leave over there and am horrified by how poor the provision is over there.

We're really lucky here in comparison. However I had a look to compare other countries and some are incredibly good. A few do a Year at full pay.

Bulgaria does 90% pay for 410 days, then you can also take up to an additional year off at minimum wage.

USA by comparison is one of the worst - 12 weeks unpaid.
    Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

Oh thank you for that information Euro, will definitely look into preparing for different scenarios and if there is anything specific I want whatever the scenario I will make sure it's clear in my notes.

Have my 31 week doctors appointment tomorrow, not looking forward to the whopping cough injection, but know its better that I have one jab than if little one were to get whopping cough when he is here.

Oh I'm sure your travel system will be here soon then Freddie. I think ours will be staying in its box for a while yet as the house isn't sorted yet for things to come out of boxes and be put together. Let's just hope he doesn't come early as we will not be prepared at all!! I'm hoping that by the time I'm on maternity leave the house will be sorted so I can slowly sort everything out!!

Feeling very lightheaded today so I've a doctors appointment later to check in - hoping all is okay. Thought it might be low blood sugar levels but I don't feel better after food.

I just feel so tired today and want to sleep even though I've just got up.

Freddie - yep we have the Uberchild. It did seem to go on a very strange journey to get here! We really need to set it up again, we did it when we got it but not since.

Tatabubbly - hope all is ok x

Maybe it's your iron levels tata?

I made my 25 week appointment for this Monday, but just looked and I'm only 23 weeks. Does anyone know if this matters? Typical I can't call them to check as its a weekend!

ETA: going by the schedule in my notes I didn't have a 20 week appointment actually, my last appointment was 17 weeks. So I'll just go anyway? It's not that I'm worried about the appointments, I just don't want to waste their time if I shouldn't bother going for another 2 weeks!
