Lemontree - huge congrats  enjoy him x

Gelly - I too worry I may be a bit lonely on maternity leave. I do have friends locally but they will all be at work. I'm only doing the NHS antenatal classes but am going to also go to a sling library/meet and a breastfeeding class to hopefully meet some other mums.

30 weeks today, beginning to freak out a little :rotfl:

  • Lemon- Congratulations I'm so happy for you!! Although I am now third on the list which is really daunting arghhhh.

I haven't been on here for a couple of days and already had to catch up with two pages... it's getting busy on here again :T

Well I finished work on Saturday, whilst I was really excited about it I ended up sad as I will miss everyone (well most people) so that's me done until June 2017  I am going to do the keep in touch days but may as well do them when I am on stat maternity pay, to bump the money up a bit.

I have found that since I can live in my flip flops now the swelling has reduced a lot, it probably helps that I haven't been doing much either :rotfl: I don't know why I am laughing there is plenty to be done.

euro you have reminded me that I need to pick the pram and car seat up, I might have to do that tomorrow. I don't know why but I think he will come early. Oh and BTW has the infection cleared up?

    36 weeks tomorrow

Huge congratulations LemonTree - enjoy these first few days and take millions of photos -they change so quickly at this stage! X

Skint - I didnt do KIT days last time, I didn't realise they paid you for them! Is that standard or does it differ between companies? I might do that too to save me in my unpaid maternity leave at the end! 36 weeks wow!!

moneypenny - where I work I don't get paid for KIT days but I do get a day's leave back for each KIT day. And the best bit is I don't have to attend for a full day for a KIT day, if I just come for an hour's meeting then I get a whole day back :D. Definitely going to do that!

Good to hear all is well Gelly.. I don't do friends and hate toddler groups and the like. I'm not lonely, I don't have time to be lonely, or bored, or lazy or anything lol..

5 school runs left before half term.. I have asked DD1 and DiL if they would mind getting Dot if I can't manage it but I am just sat in the house getting fat and I can't stand it.. I need nearly an hour to do the 10 minute walk now.. and Dot behaves like a total beast on the way home.. but if I stop doing the 4 school runs I do a week what would I actually be doing?

I have a few new kntting patterns I am trying to run through before this arrives.. but other than that and painting the kitchen and hallway, I'm getting nothing done.

I have got some stuff on ebay .. without falling asleep!! lol.. I'm really thirsty again constantly.. possibly because all my body fluid is accumulating in my feet!!! I put on my 'other shoes which fit' today.. they don't fit.. I am in my super uncomfy deaded blowfish pumps with my feet hanging out of them.. they are not comfortable, but they stop my feet fraying!

I've suddenly got a total aversion to smells too.. not sure where that is from but it might coincide with my hayfever now I think about it.. I had to change the bed sheets in the middle of the night the other day because they smelled odd.

I was discussing with DD1 earlier about my bump size.. this baby is not a little dinky thing yet my bump is tiny.. I just had someone notice I am pregnant today and when I said I have 6 weeks left she was really shocked.. she thought I was about halfway through.. really odd when a few weeks ago I was asked 4 times in 2 days if I was about to drop.. amazing what a change of position can do! But I really am tiny with this one, I haven't even worn maternity clothes as such!!

Edward arrived at 12.28am this morning weighing 6lb 14 1\2oz. We're home now and are both well, his sister is taking his arrival in her stride so far, wonder if that will change when she realises he's with us forever.

    I missed this... congratulations!! :T:T

  • Congratulations lemon tree! Brilliant news.

Work have asked me to tell them when I'm finishing. Not quite sure what to do. I'm due Aug 30th, so was thinking 2-3 weeks before. But hospital said if I do need my decision it'll be earlier. Nearer the start of the month. I don't want to tell them an earlier date and waste some of it sitting around doing nothing if I don't need a section. Thiugh by then I'd probably be grateful of a sit around and not coming into work.

My hospital have been a bit useless. Not arranged my whooping cough vaccination. Had to do it myself. And midwife said I'm supposed to have had iron checks done by now, not had those either. This is after they book me in a month early for GTT ans lose my notes when I went in for them..gave them to another girl instead. Anyone know if GP can do iron checks or should I chase the hospital?
