Hi, Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the advice. I did look in the magazine/booklet i was given and seem to be finding it a little easier. I must say it does not hurt as much as it was when i first commented on it. I have been applying the lasinoh nipple cream and it does work great. Its just when she is mega hungary my nipples get a battering lol.
At the moment i am finding she always cried when she is having a poo or gassy/windy. Im unsure if she has stomach problems. I am going to speak to the midwife today and see what she suggests. Am i right in saying i cant give her gripe water yet, if so is there anything else anyone can suggest. I have been rubbing her belly and moving her legs in bicycle motion. Hope you are all doing well.
crying when passing wind/stools is really common.. their tummy muscles aren't developed or strong enough to squeeze it out but the crying helps.. it will stop as she gets bigger.. so long as the poops are not hard like rabbit droppings they are fine. If they are dark green or frothy she is likely to have tummy issues.. that can be a sign of an intolerance or colic.
Gripe mixture isn't recommended before 1 month... infacol is fine though, you can try that.. and it is wonderful, much better than gripe mixture.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Yes, getting the pram together was very exciting!
The house is beginning to come together now, and we changed things around in the kitchen a bit in order to make space for the freezer to go in there, rather than in the garage. So....we also ordered a freestanding freezer! I am stupidly excited about this, as currently we only have the little box at the top of our fridge which is nowhere near big enough! It's being delivered on Wednesday!
Just need to get the last bits out of the spare room/nursery now, so that DH can put the crib together etc.
2 weeks and 2 days left at work! Wahooo! I can't wait. I'm so tired all the time now. I just need more sleep! lolFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Khal - well done for persevering and glad its getting easier for you
I think gripe water is 1 month old, used to work a treat for us though. I'll be counting the days down if I get a windy baby again! Colief or infacol is something else for colic I think but not sure when that can be used from - give your pharmacy a ring they are always really helpful here for things like that over the phone. Edit: just read pigpens suggestion about infacol
Yay for your pram Tata!!
Euronorris - wow you are doing well to still be working, are you in full time?0 -
Yep, I am in full time still, and will be until 1st June when I will be 37+4. The 2 days after that are holidays, and maternity leave starts officially after that.
They've had a lot of trouble finding someone to cover my work. So, we've now poached someone from another team and I have *just* started training her today! Steep learning curve for her, but she usually deals with the complicated world of pensions and divorce, so, whilst different, my work is definitely simpler! lolFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Edward arrived at 12.28am this morning weighing 6lb 14 1\2oz. We're home now and are both well, his sister is taking his arrival in her stride so far, wonder if that will change when she realises he's with us forever.0

Thanks Pigpen, I am around and reading but so busy at the mo. We're having a new kitchen installed and have been kitchen-less for about 3 weeks- it's been challenging!
Struggling to sleep at night and so busy at work too with absolutely no allowances being made for the fact I'm 31 weeks (still cant believe it ourselves).
Started NHS antenatal classes last week, got the last one this week and then thankfully we start NCT ones in June. Am hoping they are good and we make friends as I'm not particularly good friends with many people - most have had children many years before us so am a bit worried I'm going to be lonely on maternity leave.
Laying in bed typing this and baby is kicking away, my belly is jumping all over the place!
Huge congratulations lemon - it's such amazing news.
Seeing the list of names above me vanish and getting closer to the top is scaring me!
Love to you all
