No, I can't, they are all bullies and liars and I wouldnt trust one as far as I could throw them! I have a general dislike of midwives too.. they lack any sort of useful knowledge, dismiss conserns yet throw hysterical fits over nothing.. and I hate being spoken to like I am 3 and they do that ALL the time.. it doesn't make them sound nice it makes me want to eat their livers!
Being over-full sets my heartburn off.. and ice cream.. but I love it so wash it down with gaviscon and rennies.. I should just tip them on the top like sprinkles really lol
Whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion, that is quite a generalised view of health are professionals.
I have had nothing but excellent care and support throughout my pregnancy, birth and first 11weeks of being a mother. Even when I went against the grain, at no point was I made to feel inferior.
It is v sad that you gave received this kind of treatment, but not all doctors and midwives are like that.Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated0 -
I have always found that, with the exception of my parents in law, if you treat people with respect they will treat you with respect.0

Lucky you.. I have met a few half decent ones like I already said.. but lots have been pretty unpleasant.. I'm not going into details for you because none of you would sleep for a month.. but my experience isnt good and noone is doing anything to persuade me otherwise!
When they have support groups (plural) for people who have had traumatic deliveries does that not tell you something is failing somewhere? More than one group because having one got more like a conference there were so many attendees.. the whole idea that it should be necessary is terrible. I find it appalling.
Lemon.. I do exactly that.. they treat me like a fool I do it right on back! I take people as I find them but trust and respect has to be earned and very few manage that. I don't really want their respect, I want competence and truth and professionalism.
And I am STILL waiting on the rest of the blood results from December.. I have dodgy antibodies that could potentially be a problem for tiny.
I really need the prescription exemption too which they refused to do.. along with refusing the physio referral..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Not sure if I should be worried and ringing MW or not, but last 24 hours baby's movements have changed. It's much softer and at different times to normal. Got myself a bit worried in middle of night so got a cold drink and lay on my left for an hour and felt nothing, then rolled on my back and got a big kick in upper bump! Normally I feel movements low down not high up. Maybe baby has turned round? I didn't get any movement this morning when I woke up (I normally do) but I have felt some movement this morning since being in work, just much softer than normal.* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Flutter - my midwife has told me several times, if babies movements reduce or change, always call in to either her, or the DAU at the hospital. Her words were 'you know her movements best - if you're worried, get it checked out!'.
She even said to me yesterday that, although last Friday turned out to be just a migraine, I absolutely did the right thing in calling the hospital about it and I shouldn't feel silly that it turned out to be nothing serious in the end.
Just give them a call hun. You'll only worry all day otherwise xxFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -
I've had good experiences with midwives in my area. Every one of them has been lovely, helpful and reassuring so far.
I can't comment on the doctors as I have yet to meet one face to face! My surgery is overrun, basically, so I've only ever had a phone appointment. My past experience has mostly been positive, at other surgeries for other issues. I've had the odd negative, but I don't think that's 100% avoidable as healthcare professionals are human after all.
I've never had a seriously negative experience though, which resulted in something detrimental to my health though.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
flutter, defo call your midwife. Don't worry about bothering them, I thought this but she told me to ring with even the slightest concern.
I had reduced movements last Friday. Usually she moves like mad when I am driving into work but I never felt her at all and then at work she was extremely quiet despite drinking lots of cold water. Phoned midwife who told me to go straight up to the hospital to be monitored. They were great and monitored me for about an hour, she was moving about whilst being monitored but I still couldn't really feel it although turns out she had moved position (anterior placenta wasn't helping).
Since then she hasn't stopped moving and is definitely enjoying kicking my ribs!0 -
I complained about mine being quiet so it spent the next week being anything but quiet!!! They have quiet days too.. I wouldnt be concerned unless there was literally no movement at all.
Mines been a little quieter than usual this morning.. just little wriggles rather than the breath stealing stomps on my bladder.. it's lovely haha.
If you're concerned flutter ring them.. it is their job after all.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Thanks all. Since posting I've had a lot more movement!
Still softer but almost constant since I hit post :rotfl:. Going to keep an eye on it and see how it goes and if it gets quieter again I'll ring MW.
