Eugh! Heartburn! The bane of my life atm. Milk helps. Other than that, Gaviscon liquid or Rennie tablets.

I'm open to other ideas/suggestions on that one though.

34 weeks today. Can't quite believe it.

I was at the midwife yesterday and FH is now back to normal and my blood pressure too. So all is good. Baby has also turned from 2 weeks ago and is now head down but midwife wasn't confident she would stay like this for long.

I had whooping cough vaccine but as others have said it is a completely personal decision.

We have been on a money saving quest this week. We have saved £70 a month on our mortgage, I have saved £100 a year on car insurance and we have cancelled Netflix as we never use it! Feeling quite chuffed with all that.

    OR!??!!

I have gaviscon AND rennies.. and I eat them until it stops hurting.. usually 4-5 huge gulps of gaviscon and 6-8 rennies over the period of maybe an hour.. but I will go several days without needing any.

As for vaccine info.. the GP and midwife etc will only give you info to make you do what they want.. I'd recommend searching for info yourself from other sources.. you will never ever get impartial information from someone who is trying to make you do what they want.

Tata.. that article makes my point.. there is no control group/unvaccinated to compare with so there is a high likelihood those babies wouldnt have been exposed or contracted the illness anyway.. more biased information.. this is why I never believe a word any of the medical bods say!

You can be surprised by Doctors Pigpen, maybe cos I'm abroad but my Ob laughed when I suggested it! But then we explained people coming from Europe where there has been outbreaks and he understood. I know where I'm from there have been quite a few outbreaks and wouldn't want to risk my mum/mil being carriers - my sister is a carrier for the chicken pox!

It's hard with vaccination studies - its difficult to get a control group as I can't see many parents willing to do a blind test where their child may or may not have received a vaccination at the correct stage.. Very similar to a psychological study on pornography and men, they couldn't get a control group as so many men had been exposed to it!

Ive been trying to not go mad on the old Rennies - I actually hate the taste... Bleh! Hate smell of Gaviscon as well - my stepdad drinks it by the litre.. Yuck. I'm just being a big baby about it I think!

You're definitely not being a big baby about it tata! Heartburn is absolutely horrid! It feels like it's trying to burn a hole through my chest some days, and/or might make me sick. I hate it!

Plus, certain foods trigger it off - anything spicy, for example, will make it 10 times worse for me :( I don't like things really hot, but I do like the odd bit of spice now and then!

  • I'm exactly the same, thought I had escaped it! I can only stomach the Gaviscon tablets so I just try and take them before bed so I can actually sleep. Other than that I drink milk by the gallon!!

No, I can't, they are all bullies and liars and I wouldnt trust one as far as I could throw them! I have a general dislike of midwives too.. they lack any sort of useful knowledge, dismiss conserns yet throw hysterical fits over nothing.. and I hate being spoken to like I am 3 and they do that ALL the time.. it doesn't make them sound nice it makes me want to eat their livers!

Being over-full sets my heartburn off.. and ice cream.. but I love it so wash it down with gaviscon and rennies.. I should just tip them on the top like sprinkles really lol

Whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion, that is quite a generalised view of health are professionals.

I have had nothing but excellent care and support throughout my pregnancy, birth and first 11weeks of being a mother. Even when I went against the grain, at no point was I made to feel inferior.
It is v sad that you gave received this kind of treatment, but not all doctors and midwives are like that.
Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated
