I had everything sorted by this time last time but nowhere near ready yet! Vaguely thrown a few things into a bag for a hospital bag as I've come across them, washed some baby clothes and bought one new outfit for the new arrival. Beyond that I'm not even close!0

Ah enjoy maternity leave LemonTree, rest up. I'm counting down the weeks til mine, feels like an eternity at moment, 10 weeks left but have 1 week leave in middle of that.
Glad you got checked out Toots.
I haven't even thought about hospital bags. I have bought some bits like maternity towels but nothing sorted. I am hoping to wait til after our mini babymoon in 4 weeks to pack it as want to use the same bag we are taking away!
Ordered our cotbed yesterday from Mothercare. It came with free mattress, I had £10 off voucher and got 5% cashback too, and paid on Tesco CC so get some points too.
Had a very busy weekend so feeling it a bit now, plan on having a lazy bank holiday weekend though. May set aside sometime to sort through bits n bobs in house but we are saving the nursery sorting for our week off as need to go to Ikea to get chest of drawers.
Kitten is gaining in confidence, still no name but we are narrowing it down (god knows how we will chose a baby name :rotfl:). OH's kids adore her and got to play a bit with her yesterday which was nice.* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Yay brill news lemon!
I am back in work on Wednesday, still in pain with my back and now wrists/hands so I am going to speak with HR and bring my maternity leave forward, I don't feel as though I have much choice as I don't think I could make it to the end nowSo with adding my annual leave on beforehand hopefully my last day will be 16th May. If I feel I can go longer then I will have to re evaluate.
I have started to do my hospital bag, as in I have put in a nightie and new toothbrush. I bought a pacapod changing bag last week and am using this for the babies things, I have almost finished packing it now, just need to add his blanket and his clothes now.

I sort of stuffed together a bag this weekend too.. we must all have had the same thought!
Loo roll.. don't forget one.. ours hospital never has any.. and if you have a small shoe bag.. you know the draw string ones.. they make it super easy to do loo trips.. I struggled to carry a clean pad, pants, wipes and loo roll without crutches, it was impossibe with.. so just stuff it all in one of those..
binbag for washing... you might not want OH to be carrying bloodied laundry through the hospital.
I need a couple of cardies, muslins and a hat for the inhabitant and a cardy for me and I think I'm done.

Hi all
Just back from a planned scan and consultant appt. All good - my dates appear to have shifted back 3 days (but consultant said it's been like that since 20 weeks - nobody told us) so new EDD is 18th July. Her measurements are all good apart from her belly is still a bit big - showing 29 weeks but nothing to worry about.
They also think she's about 3lbs already and head down but she has been head down for the last 3-4 scans.
I had the glucose tolerance test 2 weeks ago and it's negative but consultant wants me to have another one at 34 weeks.
Last time I was weighed (approx 2-3 weeks ago), I'd only put on 2lbs in pregnancy because of all the sickness so I think I've let the "weight loss" go to my head and have been eating a bit too many sweet things since then. Will reign it in a bit and eat more healthy until she arrives now.
Just had a salmon and cucumber sandwich on wholemeal and now munching a mixed fruit pot - yum.
When do you guys recommend preparing a hospital bag? I've still got 12 weeks to go so I'm guessing in the next month or so?

When you get round to it Gelly.. I only did mine now because I'd washed the baby stuff and it wouldnt all fit in the drawers.. and I have mine early anyway.. and because I struggle to do anything now so getting it done before I am utterly incapable seemed a good idea.. we don't need the bags again until at least the summer so they make excellent storageLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Gelly, your one or two weeks ahead of me and I've started to get things gathered up.
I've wrote a list of what has to go into the bags. I'm taking one for labour, very small one, just with essentials eg nightie, plastic bags, straws for water, lip balm, socks and flip flops, hair bobbles and one set of clothes for baby.
I'll have another one packed for staying in (they usually do 2 night stay here) and it'll be easier than lugging a pile of stuff around as we change rooms etc..
I am pretty organised though as I'm off work ATM so I've time to get things in line. I've heartburn today so I've relented and bought a packet of Rennies as its needed. I've done my yoga class this morning as well. Lovely teacher and I can see the benefits of learning to breathe correctly. That and adjusting my posture makes baby feel less heavy.094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250

I started prepping mine weeks ago Gelly. Around the number of weeks you are now. But that was mostly excitement, nerves and my usual need to organise everything as much as possible! lol Having had the BP scare earlier on, I didn't want to get caught short, so I'd rather have it sitting there ready for weeks and not need it, than the other way around.
Glad the scans have all been going well
Sorry to hear you're struggling skint. Bringing forward the maternity leave seems like a great idea in your situation. I hope it all eases soon for you.
After today I have 25 working days left (ie 5 weeks), as I have 2 days holiday immediately before leave starts, and we have 2 bank holidays between now and then.
Totally jealous of the pacapod changing bag! I had my eye on one, but couldn't justify the cost. Have you got a linky to the one you bought? I bet it's lovely!
Flutter, it sounds like you got a bargain there! I think you covered all the bases with discounts, points and cashback! lol Fabbo!
We saw MIL and step-DIL on Saturday, as it was her birthday on the Thursday. That was nice. Then DH's friend popped round unannounced. On Sunday we were bust in the garden, followed by an impromptu visit from DIL and step-MIL in the afternoon (they did call ahead thankfully). So it was lovely, but quite busy for us. I must admit, I had to peel myself out of bed this morning! lol This weekend won't be any quieter as my parents are coming for a visit from Friday night until Tuesday morning. They are staying in a nearby hotel though (as we no longer have the room), which makes things a bit easier.
I seem to have got to the stage where no seated position is comfortable for more than 10 minutes. PITA! lolFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Thanks ladies, we're having our kitchen replaced at the mo so no kitchen to use from tomorrow and the new one is not being fitted until 10th May. Got lots of work being done in the kitchen before they can start.
Once that's done and being put back together, we'll start on the nursery and then I guess the hospital bags will follow soon after.

Gelly, last time and I expect this time as well I was adding stuff to the boot the morning I went in for induction. I've just started with lists and tick off as I get the odd thing. Once again I'll have a bag to take in with me and have a bag of spares in the car boot otherwise I'll need a suitcase lol0
