Rampant Recycler I've been Money Tipped!
Moog that sounds a bit pants! This is why I'm glad my parents and in laws live 5 miles away, as there'll be none of this staying over for days/weeks lark!

Work has been quite frustrating. My manager has been signed off and the other girl started her sick/maternity leave at 22 weeks, so for the most part it's me, my boss and two new guys. My boss is very busy so most of the day to day training falls on me, and I just want a nice relaxing last week in the office! After tomorrow my boss is on holiday for a week (so I won't see him before I leave) so it'll be just me and the newbies!

My hands hurt. Dr Google says it's carpal tunnel. I guess it will go away once babies are here as I *should* lose all this fluid I'm retaining!

Congrats on the births! Sorry it didn't go as planned sweetilemon.

I have read everything but I can't remember any of it. Besides pigpens flatulence XD

I've been to have my bloods repeated today. Looking for a cause for the extra fluid they saw, not that they're expecting to find anything. I've had 2 extremely useless appointments with doctors who basically updated my book with the same info that was in there already. I've been booked yet another scan. I don't really want it. They're just looking for the sake of it now. I've already had 3 separate scans and 4 people tell me that they can't find anything wrong. I've got another appointment before then though, presumably to discuss the blood results from today. If that's negative I plan on telling them to leave me alone! (Any advice on telling them to eff off in a polite way pigpen?) I've also got a midwife appointment at the surgery and then my 28 week bloods to get done at the hospital before they plan on doing this scan. I'm well and truly miffed tbh. I don't want all this stress when they can't find anything wrong.

I just let them make the next appointment, ring up and cancel it and when they ask why say because I don't want it/don't want to come/don't think it is necessary..

BUT!! ... I have never had a potential problem with a baby, it has always been me that is broken! I may feel differently if it was the baby.

I've had a 'fun' day today. Ended up at the hospital being monitored for reduced movements, but the little tinker woke up as they strapped the sensors on so at least everything is OK. This evening I've been feeling uncomfortable with what I assume is the start of BH. They've started a fair bit earlier this time and it's just not 'on'!! ☺

Always the way Lemon Tree. Quiet til they get as extra attention :p

I'm not exactly sure what the point in the extra scan (maybe scans?) is. Everyone that has looked has said they can't see any problem. Including the cardiologist. He was even annoyed that I'd been sent to see him rather than having another standard scan. He said from what he could see, had that rescanned before referral, they would have seen that everything was fine and wouldn't have needed to bother him (he's even sent a letter to us all saying so). It's like were being poked and prodded hoping they find a problem.

Through all this I'm obviously under a consultant. Which means no midwife led unit and no calm, natural, water birth that I want.

bamama.. in my experience the medical staff find a reason to make you worried in every pregnancy, whether it is founded in fact or not.. I cant be bothered with it.. given they have absolutely no idea about most things anyway, a scan only shows structural detailing and even that can change after birth, they cannot fix most things that do go wrong and most pregnancies that have a sad ending have been perfectly straight forward with no actual sign of anything wrong until everything is wrong... they seem pretty useless when you look at it objectively.

I have been told all sorts of absolute rubbish to try to scare me into complying with their unreasonable demands... I love to ask for statistics to back up their claims or evidence and they simply can't do it. I've had midwifes telling me your waters don't break before 37 weeks.. we ALL know thats a lie! We might hope they don't, but they do! Apparently after 'that many' children you MUST have a slack bladder so probably just wet myself.. er.. no, to both! My pelvic floor is quite healthy thank you!

In the letter I got from my consultant last week it was full of unsubstantiated rubbish.. I kept it for amusement. I'm waiting for a MW to turn up on my doorstep.. I know exactly who they will send... I've known her 22 years :)

I hate being lied to.. I don't tell lies and I loathe liars. I used to lie lots.. then I decided the truth was better.. :) It has such a better reaction.

Do they not have a pool on the main labour ward?? Ours has 2. There is no mw led unit here just the normal cattle shed ward.. it is vile, impersonal and dirty... I am still kind of hoping to spawn this at half term when we arent at home! Would be kind of sweet to have this one at the hospital where OH was born.. I'd have to leave asap though.. the thought of OHs mother with the girls for any length of time is a frightening one.. Dot is a bit of a handful!!

The local hospital only had a MLU. One pool and 3 other rooms. I had a choice of 2 with doctors present then. One direction which has 2 pools (I think) but those are on the MLU not the labour ward there so probably wouldnt be allowed to use them anyway. The other is in the other direction with no pools. But... I've opted for that one (which I don't think I need to go to anyway) because my mother is a clerk in maternity at the other hospital and I don't particularly want to be near her lol. She'd end up following me on the system to get details of the labour.

I think I'm well and truly into my nesting stage. Cleaned the bathroom furiously last night. And on the walk to work, I couldn't help but think 'cor, this road needs a good tidy up, and it could do with a sweep'..... That's weird, right?!

I think I am part mule... I nearly killed myself doing this mornings school run my hips are dead... OH asked if I wanted the crutches out of the cupboard.. so i snapped his head off.. No, I refuse to use them... now I know they help, I just wont relent.. if I give in I have 3 months of the hateful things.. I actually would cut off my nose to spite my face.. the best part is i am fully aware how stubborn I am!! If I was anyone else I'd slap me!

I'm refusing to do nesting.. the house can fall down, I dont care!

if the MLU is in the main hospital with the main labour ward then I dont see why you cant use those you'd be minutes from the main ward surely?... start demanding a home birth, they will give in to anything just to get you to hospital.. ;) .. that does actually work!
