Argh.. Pixie has turned into a limpet!!! She is wailing because she wants daddy to stay at home.. I think she feels like people wont ever come home if they leave.. She is so bad today she wont even go play in the garden because there is noone else out there! Good job I need to hang out the washing!
My neurotic head wants to buy a new car seat to bring the inhabitant out of the hospital.. we have one which we will be using for it which is fixed in the car but you have to have a stupid carry one for leaving so the staff can see you have it.. I might tell them to bog off and use the pushchair to the car.. if they want to check car seats they can come outside and look! The one I had for the others my daughter uses for her 16 month old still.
Last bits ordered other than the pushchair saga.
I think we are having a growth spurt this week because I am absolutely ravenous!! I have that horrible light-headed feeling and muscle twitches you get when you are really hungry ALL the time.. stodge for dinner tonight, that usually fights it off for a short period!
4 days left of school until easter holidays.. I am REALLY looking forward to not having to do school runs for nearly 3 weeks! We have sorted the days we are supposedly going to OH's mums.. 2nd-6th .. providing his sister is elsewhere.. His mother is then miffed because we aren't going this coming weekend as it is her 70th Birthday on Thursday and obviously easter weekend.. It takes me 4 days to pack on a good week.. and then takes 3 hours to load the car and then I have a million other things that are being squeezed in the holidays.. like counselling sessions, college enrollment, dentist etc.. ooh I need to pop a couple of opticians appointments in there too.. best get those sorted!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I binned the flask! I also binned the sandwich toaster. I love toasted sandwiches, but that thing is a nightmare to clean!!! So it ends up sitting on the side for days, being avoided, and then I avoid using it for months afterwards because I know I will have to clean it again afterwards! lol. So, have binned it, and one day we will get a better one with removable, dishwasher friendly plates! lol
I then went on a massive cleaning binge for the kitchen (it needed it). Still need to clean the oven and the fridge, and go through the cupboards and rearrange/fling stuff etc.
I haven't even started on getting my hospital bag ready yet. I've got time though, I guess. I know which bag I'm going to use too. It's actually a picnic bag that work bought us for our wedding, but it's a good size with lots of zip compartments etc.
My belly button has flattened out and keeps touching my desk. Bleugh. I hate anyone or anything touching my belly button. Cringe!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Hope everyone had a good weekend.
I am currently de-stressing from having the inlaws stay which my husband forgot to tell me about. Spring clean is now under way as I never known people to make so much mess.
I keep getting uterus type pains today but not contractions. Hopefully it's nothing!
Hospital bag is ready for baby but I still need to put clothes into mine, think that will be a last minute thing though. It wasn't completely ready before I had my son either0 -
pigpen, our car seat for baby is fixed in the car, and I don't have a pram/buggy so leaving hospital I was carrying DS. Nurse stopped me and told me cannot carry him out. I had expected some such silliness so had popped one of my slings into the bag. Put the sling on to walk the 200m to the car - took longer putting it on and him in/out of it that it did to walk. I offered for them to come and look at the seat in the car but they weren't interested in doing so. Apparently I couldn't carry him out because I might fall or drop him?! I had already been frowned upon when I'd taken him with me when I went to get my breakfast - supposed to have left him alone in my room as again may have dropped him. Uh, what do you think I'll be doing as soon as I'm out of here?! Anyway, so if you have a sling that is an option.
euronorris, I love toasties but make them in a frying pan on the cooker as can't be bothered washing the machine. You make them exactly the same, butter on the outside of the bread though, then pop into the frying pan, leave it a couple minutes (depending on the heat) and then flip, squash with the spatula and flip again to check both sides are done. So simple to wash up!0 -
My belly button is fairly flat now, but it now sticks out in the place where my piercing was (didn't heal fantastically when I had it done 5 years ago). I'm kind of regretting not buying a maternity bar and not just removing it like I did, although I bet it would be irritating me so much right now!pigpen, our car seat for baby is fixed in the car, and I don't have a pram/buggy so leaving hospital I was carrying DS. How ridiculous!! I'm glad I opted for removable seats now, bargain at £39 each! Not bothering with a sling as the idea of one twin in front and one behind doesn't sit well with me.
I use a George Foreman grill for my toasties! You don't need to butter the outside of the bread either (if you don't want to) so generally it is cleaner. We use ours for everything so have to clean it a lot, although we could do with cleaning it a lot more often than we actually do!Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

I can't use a sling..
TBH I doubt anyone would try to stop me doing anything.. I have a bit of a reputation
I was whined at because I refused to leave the baby in my room to eat as well.. you could take the baby to the dining area but not IN the dining area which is just as bad IMO!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Ohh, now see, DH likes cheese toasties (or combinations), but I only like baked beans toasties (as am allergic to cheese), and I'm not sure they'd work well in a frying pan or a George foreman. They need the sides to be sealed to keep the beans in. And yes, they do taste different from beans on toast! lol Great idea for DH though! Thank you
SIL's due date is tomorrow. Very exciting. When that little one arrives it means I'll be an aunty to 10 in total!
Littlemoog is quiet. I wonder if she's gone into labour? If so, I'm sending you lots of positive good luck vibes Littlemoog!

Congrats Laura and Sweet. Hope you are both enjoying time with your babies!
Got a call from the midwife today, I have anaemia. That'll explain why I am so tired all the time. I've been prescribed iron tablets so hopefully they will "pick me up".0 -
Nope, no signs here yet! Thanks for thinking of me though Euro x
We had in-laws here for lunch yesterday so was a bit hectic. Was really annoyed with them, they rang Saturday morning and arranged to come mid-morning as they needed to leave around 2. We've not seen them since October as they're abroad most of the time. They eventually arrived about 12, DD was so overexcited waiting for them and then got really overwrought, and we had a generally difficult day which was exhausting.
They're only here for 2.5 weeks, so obviously I want DD to see as much of them as possible, and for them to have plenty of time with new baby, but they seem to forget that other people have lives/plans - we were going to take DD to the zoo so ended up not going, just to see them for 2 hours which spoiled the rest of the day for us all.
