I had my baby girl at 7.28 this morning, 8lb 6oz. I had a 4th pessary and had my Waters broken at 12 midday on Thursday. I had the IV drip and contracted until 5am on Friday, only got to 4cm dilated so ended up with an emergency c - section. Baby is doing great, i've not been allowed to be moved from the recovery ward as I've got high pulse and temperature so suspected infection. I need to get some sleep as ive still not slept but loving being a mummy, she's beautiful!

Yay congratulations, good to hear she finally made her entrance x

Congratulations Sweetilemon, hope you're not too sore. Sorry it didn't work out how you hoped, rest up and take it easy while you heal. After my emcs the MW told me not to lift anything heavier than a kettle and make DH do all the nappies etc and just concentrate on healing and resting xx

Not liking these last few weeks. I keep thinking there are signs things may be happening and then they all stop. Next day they will start again and stop! Think I'm just imagining things lol

I couldnt lift the kettle!!! I dropped it in the sink because it was too heavy!

I then vacuumed the house which hadnt been done for days, got out the childrens christmas presents, built a crib and did the whole santa thing (DD3 born 19th Dec.. discharged myself christmas eve, got home at 7pm) ... NOT a good period of my life!

Congratulations Sweet... sod everything.. just love that baby and enjoy those first days.

My theory is the last few weeks are hellish to get you through the birth.. you just want the end goal.. which is of course the baby.

Babies then become vulgar teens so we can let them go, cut the apron strings.. it is all part of a greater plan.

    It doesn't actually exist!!

A child is naturally curious and wants to know everything and do everything but their physical limitations and language limitations are incredibly frustrating.. same as is seen in dementia patients and those with ailing health.. the body cannot do what the mind wants it to do so the child gets frustrated and distressed resulting in tantrums and seemingly bad behaviour.. since looking into this further while studying child psychology I've not had any problems with 2 year olds that cannot be explained or diffused with a bit of love, understanding and support.

Is isn't 'terrible' it is a developmental stage.. and 3 is so much worse.. they still have some limitations but also try to push boundaries and challenge them.

My 4 y/o is 'challenging' .. she is the epitome of terrible (from birth) .. we addressed some of the problem medically.. cranial osteopath and reflux treatments.. the sleeping we ended up trying everything and she now goes to bed.. the general behaviour nothing works she is a bit wild but she has boundaries we just need to find a consequence that actually has an impact that doesnt involve food lol.. She is very much like me and I too am a willful little madam who wont be told anything and has to learn by my own mistakes.. I just make sure I am here to try to prevent serious injury and rub bumps and bruises.
