Three is definitely worse than two, DD was pretty laid back as a 2 year old but us seriously pushing all her boundaries at the moment. You can see her watching how we react and figuring out how far she can push us etc, I think she's learning about influencing other people etc. Understanding and consistency only seem to get us so far these days, there's a lot more shouting than we used to have
am hoping it's just a difficult phase with being so heavily pregnant and her knowing there's a lot of changes coming. She told DH this morning that she's sad because she doesn't want to share me

Moog.. she will also be seeing how far you can be pushed because of the pregnancy and they just know you can't chase them like you normally could.
We explained like this..
When a Mummy and Daddy have more than one child their heart grows bigger and stretches to fit more love in so its not like sharing it is like having a piece each and her heart will love the baby too so you will have to share them with each other!.. worked for my lot.. and there are a lot to have a share of me!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
That's what we've been telling her Pigpen, that when a family gets a new person everyone gets extra love to fit the new person in. I think she's worried about it but too small to really articulate it, so she's lashing out at us. Lots of hitting, kicking and pinching etc when she's normally really well behaved, plus a lot of toilet accidents and random tears.
like all the phases since newborn though, this too will pass. Or so I keep muttering to myself

We've got a few books, she especially likes "the new small person" by the same author as Charlie and Lola. Hopefully if we just keep reassuring her she'll be fine. She talks about when the baby's here a lot, how she'll help me look after it etc, it's just been the last couple of weeks that she's been more difficult, change of routine with dropping a couple of days at nursery, plus the baby being nearly here but we still don't know when it will actually come (really bothering her, she asks multiple times when it will come, and can't understand why we don't know!). She's in the middle of a why? phase as well which is driving me crazy!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

Does anyone think a baby monitor will be worth it in our situation: we live a coach house, so all one level, much like a flat. The nursery is right next to our bedroom, and being a new build the walls are plasterboard and not remotely soundproof. I can hear the TV in the living room, with the living room and bedroom doors closed and a hallway between us! Lol we won't need anything straight away as we'll have the next 2 me crib, but even for later on I'm leaning towards not bothering.

I always used the monitor with my 1st, even though I could probably hear him in the room next to us it was more for peace of mind. We have angel care which detects movement so stopped me worrying as much.0 -
We used a monitor for the evenings once DD was going to bed early enough for us to go down and watch TV. Meant we could have the doors shut and TV at reasonable volume, and still get to her before she got really worked up if she woke. We never used at night as our rooms shared a wall and sound carries so much further once the house is quiet. Nowadays I have to shut her door when we go to bed or her snoring wakes me!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

We just had a fairly basic BT one, but the sound quality was really good, you could hear her breathing over it.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

why stages are great!!
Of course she help look after it.. big sisters are the best for passing things and getting wipes out of the packet (not fastening poppers on sleepsuits though.. that almost resulted in broken sternums a few times)

I still check my 20 year old is breathing and my 17 year old is checked several times a night..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
