Well done Toots. I've got mine on Friday afternoon. I've had it once before, in the bum, and I don't remember it being very painful. Just a standard injection it felt like.

Sounds like a good plan Bamama. I'm wanting delayed cord cutting as well. Everything I've read about it confirms it's really beneficial for baby.

bamama.. I have pictures of my grandaughter as she was being born.. some just her crown and then the head .. obviously I'm not going to share my daughters bits with the world. dd1 loves them and wishes we had done them with her first but she wouldnt let me. I have some nice 'in labour' pics of her too. the pethedine was probably given too close to the birth resulting in his delayed breathing.. they do another called meptid which doesnt have the same dulling effect which might be worth asking about.

having a code word or gesture to indicate preference through OH might help.. I just cry if anyone talks to me and dont speak at all..

Oh I think pics might be a step too far for me. I didn't see it and I'm still scarred by the mental images XD the breathing thing is cause he had the cord around his neck. Muppet that he is.

I don't think OH would pick up on signals. He either wasn't in the room (outside with his mother) or playing games on his phone...

I did, OH makes me watch it! Just irritates me that there's hardly ever multiple births on there, and when one is featured, it's a C-Section and the whole segment is about 4 minutes long! With things like that there's no wonder people think I can't do this without a section!

I used to really like OBEM but the more I've learnt about natural birth processes and how hospital policies/procedures tend to sabotage it the less able I've been to enjoy it :o in the last series practically every mum ended up with an epidural, being shouted at to push. Still cry whenever a baby is born though! I'd recommend watching some positive birth videos on YouTube as well, to see more natural births. They're so much more uplifting :)

Ahh, I'm sorry to hear that Lulu. I haven't watched many episodes before, so I hadn't realised. Hopefully there will be more natural, multiple births this season.

I know what you mean kroberts! I was saying to DH that it was my worst nightmare! I know her Mum was trying to comfort her, and the girl obviously appreciated it, but I'd hate having my back constantly rubbed, or my leg rubbed, or anyone right up in my face all the time......I don't make a very good patient! lol I want DH to be there, encouraging me, and holding my hand when needs be, but I can't be dealing with all the fussing!

You absolutely can do it :) my sisters are twins, they were born naturally after induction at 38weeks. Twin 1 was breech, they both weighed over 8lb and it was all smooth and straightforward. have you joined any twin groups to get stories of twin births etc? Bet there are loads on FB x
