I asked to go home last night but the doctor wouldn't sign it off. I'm totally drained, I'm so upset there's been no movement, i've seen 4 other girls come and go to have their babies it's quite soul destroying. Feeling a lot of pressure to take the section, really want to hold off and try the induction again/go naturally just really hope I don't end up with intervention anyway. Gutted my body won't just get a move on itself. It's using up my OH's time off, he's been sleeping on the chair and is not allowed to use the shower facilities so it's definitely taking its toll! I've not brought enough day clothes - brought lots of PJ's, wishful thinking I'd be in labour and recovering mode. Expected things to take time but not this long.

    Hope everyone is doing ok.

Hugs for both Pigpen and Sweetielemon.

Pigpen - I like Sweetie's suggestion. We might be able to find you a deal somewhere. eBay is also a godsend for these things. Anything that is not worth eBaying, could you save up and get OH to do a boot sale for instead? Every little will help x

Sweetie - I'm so sorry it's taking so long. I really hope things get moving for you soon, without intervention. Baby is obviously just very cosy where there are and not quite ready to leave yet. I'd take that as a sign that you've made them such an excellent home in there, they like it too much to leave! :D

Sorry to hear baby is taking it's time, hopefully you will be out of there soon and the way you'd like it.

Hope you manage to find a buggy Pigpen

I went for my growth scan this morning and measurements seem fine even though I had static growth from midwifes measurements. Stomach measured 33 weeks with tape measure but at the scan their measurements were at about 38 weeks. Makes baby measure 2 weeks ahead so I hope he/she doesn't put too much more weight on :)

Sweet, I hope things get moving for you soon!

Had my 28 week midwife appointment today. Everything fine and measuring 27 weeks so all normal. I did mention to her that I was a small baby (about 6lbs) and my mum had me 2 weeks early which seemed to worry her but my mum only had me early because she had high blood pressure (something I've never had). Anyway she said she might refer me onto hospital for a growth scan but don't think I will need it.

Booked into "Parent Craft Classes" in May as well. Good excuse to get away early on a Friday afternoon!

Sorry it's taking so long Sweetilemon, rubbish that they wouldn't agree to you going home. If you don't want a section, and you and baby are both well then stick to your guns xx

Oh Sweet I'm sorry things aren't progressing yet. Stand your ground about not having a section. As long as baby is fine they should respect your views, especially as they can't give you a medically justifiable reason for c-section.

Keep us posted, although I hope we don't hear from you for a bit as you'd be in labour!

pigpen, that's rubbish about the pram. I agree, let us know what kind you need and we'll keep our eyes peeled. I almost cried at how much the bugaboo donkey was, as that looked like our only hope. It was only by chance that I saw the mountain buggy set up in a way I wanted it and it was £600 cheaper. Ours was £866 but we bought two carrycots with it so I imagine you'd only need to buy the one, although some reviewers have mentioned the older models are quite narrow, so not sure if it'd be good for your Pixie or not!

Sweet.. they cannot force you to stay.. if you want to go home.. go, there isnt a single thing they can do to stop you, you are not a prisoner!! There is no way I'd have a section without a very very good reason.. It is the one part of me I cannot bear to think about.. I feel mutilated and disfigured, I need surgery to repair the terrible internal damage that resulted. Tell them to rebook an induction and you will be back then.. and go home and rest..

Pixie is the size of an average 4 year old and most seats only go up to 15kg.. so she either has the hood right on her head or dangly legs with no support and usually the straps are too short! I give up.. she will just have to walk! .. her poor little legs will fall off.. 3 school runs a day! :(

I'm very good at deals.. the only cheaper one I've found is ebay in germany.. but she is still too heavy for the seat.. if it breaks her being too heavy invalidates the warranty..

Due to the section which destroyed my stomach muscles I can't tip most to get up or down kerbs or push a fair few we tried.. and due to my ancient arthritic bones I couldnt even open the straps on a few of the ones we looked at! I'm just plain broken hahaha..

Pigpen pushing a 4year old for 3 school runs a day is no easy task for anyone!! Especially pregnant with health problems. Would she manage the walk?

Yeah I realise I could discharge myself I just want to wait and see if they'll offer me another induction and speak to them about reasoning if they are suggesting the C - section. Still waiting around for my morning consultant appointment though so not holding my breath. At least at this pace I'm more likely to go into labour or at least dilate enough for the IV. It's just disheartening when all the girls around me are labouring and beds are being turned over quickly with girls leaving for the labour ward.
