Is the Bednest nice Saffagal? We've ordered one too, it's coming at the end of Feb
With DD we had a moses basket and then a crib (both borrowed from various sisters!), but I wasn't keen on either of them really. My DD wanted to get in the baby's cot yesterday too, after we set it up in her room (she and baby will share once baby is old enough), but she settled on putting all the cuddly toys in there instead in the end
I've just counted and I've got 13.5 days left at work after todayshould probably get on with some actual work now
, lots left to do before I hand over.

It must have been the weekend for sorting rooms. We had my sons new bed delivered so built that and then moved the cot bed and changer plus rest of furniture from his old room into the bigger room which they're going to share eventually. He is excited too that they will be sharing. We still have a few bits to do but the big things are all done which is reassuring before I get too big.
On countdown to finish work too, 6 weeks left but I only do 3 days a week and hoping to take 4 days holiday so should be 14 days to go0 -
Littlemoog, yes I really like the look of the bednest and it feels nice and solid. It took some jigging of the stand to get it set to the right height for our bed; I found it easier if putting my foot on the bottom to hold it and then lift the top bit. Had a good play with it.
I had a moses last time that was borrowed but didn't feel it was worth spending to buy one with a stand when I only got 12 weeks out of it last time. As this is our last baby, felt renting was the best option for us.
I also really wanted a co-sleeper so baby can have a "safe space" beside my bed and DD can still have room in our bed for morning cuddles. For the past few months I have trained her to climb onto my bed at my feet and then climb up the middle of the bed.0 -

My daughter used to do that and I occasionally kicked her off in my asleep state.. she occasionally would sleep on the bottom of the bed and got kicked off there a few times too.. Counting the days rather than weeks left at work definately seems less! I'm training my replacement now so it definitely feels more real. I certainly won't miss the early mornings, I'm really struggling now.
It must be good but strange to know your date saffagal. I'm sure your LO will adjust, especially if you've done so much preparation.0 -
Morning all
We had our last hypnobirthing session last night, and as it was rearranged (due to teacher being a doula and being called to a birth over the last planned session) and we couldn't make the same date as the other couples she came to us and we had a private session which was really helpful. Went over birth plans, how to use the techniques on the day and generally had a good old chat! DH feeling more positive about home birth now, and we've now got the birth pool and a list of other supplies to get etc so starting to feel quite real! I was feeling very relaxed when I went to bed, but then had to get up with DD in the night as she'd wet the bed, and couldn't get back to sleep so back to feeling knackered again!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
That was really good you managed to get a private hypobirthing session littlemoog. We had our last antenatal class last night, glad that's the late Tuesday nights over with! Ive not got any late nights with job number 2 either now - bonus! My boss has told me to take it easy on my last week so with their permission I fully intend to!! Looking forward to the relaxation time before baby comes!0

Hi ladies, hope we're all well today? I'm sitting here, having lunch before going to pick up DD from nursery and it's feels so weird knowing that tonight is the last time I will put her to bed as an only child. This morning was the last morning we had morning cuddles as a family of three... (am going to have to wake her tomorrow morning as we need to leave the house before she wakes so no time for cuddling then).
I am as ready as I can be - mine and baby's bag packed, everything ready at home, presents from baby for DD packed, DD has a bag with presents she chose for baby. Nursery have all the details in case inlaws will need to collect her tomorrow, all the washing is done - just need to finish folding it and pack it away, fridge is stocked to make it easier for DH whilst I'm in hospital and early next week, cleaner has been and the house is spotless... in less than 18 hours I'll be holding baby. I feel a bit  and a bit :j
sweetilemon, glad that you have permission to wind down in your last few days at work. Roll on mat leave!
Littlemoog, wow - that must have been a bonus having a private session for your last hypnobirthing session. Glad that DH is feeling more positive about your home birth.
Shame pigpen, your poor little one! But that's why she comes to my side to climb up; I'm unfortunately a very light sleeper and usually wake with her getting out of bed in her room. DH on the other hand, needs a good thump and shake to wake him!
Take care ladies0 -
Eeek Saffagal, so exciting!
:j Look forward to hearing your birth story when you feel up to it, hope all goes as smoothly as possible and recovery is simple. I've heard it's a lot easier with an elective x

Saffagal that's so exciting! Wishing you and baby a safe and enjoyable experience. Look forward to hearing all about it.
My first day of taking a 'back step', I must say it was quite stressful watching someone else fill my role but not the way I would haha. So controlling! 2.5days left!!0
