Snap...
Had a midwives appointment on Tuesday and apparently baby is still only 3/5 engaged so it doesn't look like she fancies shifting anytime soon! They recommended sitting and bouncing on a ball - which is exactly what I've been doing since 34 weeks when I finished work...
Anyone have any other ideas?
Hope you're not going too stir crazy as well devildolly and TopQuark! xx0 -

I'm dosing up on vitamin C anyway trying to fight this cold so at least that should help absorb the iron. I'll have a look for spatone if it's good. Would i still take the tablets as well or stop taking them?
I'd ask your MW I guess, depends how low your iron was and whether they're really worried about it - might be that you should take the iron tablets for however long the prescription is and then switch. I don't know that there would be a problem with taking both, you can't absorb most of the iron in the tablets, so it's a massive massive dose, hence why it bungs you up (and makes your poo black!:o)Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -

You could try hip circles and figure 8s on the ball, as opposed to just bouncing, which I think isn't recommended until you're actually in labour? Is she in optimum position (ie not back to back?) if not, you could try some exercises from spinningbabies.com to help with positioning. Gives you something to do and break up the day at leastHang in there, baby will come when she's ready x

Thanks LittleMoog - I'll give the circles and figure of 8's a go, see if it does anythingYup, apparently she's in the perfect position for birth, just not particularly low!
Well, she's got til 31st Jan to get herself shifted towards the exit door - as that's the day I'll get pulled into the hospital to discuss induction, not a route I'd like to go down if at all possible.
I'll keep you all updated if there's any news! xx0 -

I was 3/5 engaged at my midwife appointment, went in to labour 4 days later!0 -
I'm having an elective section this time and will get my date next week when I'm 36+5. My hospital only does clinics on a Wednesday and they wanted me back after 36weeks so could do a check on baby at the same time as I'm consultant led due to BP issues. I'm expecting my section to be between 38 and 40 weeks.
I imagine you'd get your date a bit sooner than that!
No suggestions but hope these late babies gets moving so that you don't need inductions.0 -

Thanks for the heads up! I wasn't just asking for me, someone I know has said she has her section date and she's 7 weeks behind me...Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

I have my 40 week appointment tomorrow. Last time I saw them at 38 weeks I was 3/5 engaged then but still nothing yet. DTD this morning for the first time in months which was logistically interesting. Currently on my bounce ball rocking back and forth. I am getting a few faint cramps now though so really hoping it happens soon. I also want to avoid induction as much as possible.
Hope all is well with the new baby rambosmum.0 -
btw those who have had c-sections, or have had c-sections in the past, when did you find out the date?
Anywhere between 3 minutes before to 3 days before. .. usually closer to the former. The computer systems won't allow them to prebook before 36 weeks here.. and electives are subject to being bumped in favour of emergencies.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I used spatone alone with one of mine as I cannot take the tablets.. my anaemia was much much worse with that one than with any of the others.. it was 5.1Hb at delivery.. usually about 8-9Hb at that point for me.
You can also use spatone as well as the prescribed stuff.. The prescribed stuff takes several weeks to make any difference to the Hb because it is so difficult to absorb. Research the data on the tablets.. they are not much use at all.. the iron stores are what they should be looking at not the hb.. if the iron stores are low then you need extra iron but the injections are MUCH more effective than the tablets and without the constipation which of course leads to piles, fissures and in my case.. a bowel obstruction requiring hospital treatment.
They will prescribe lactulose to take with the iron tablets if you ask but that stuff nearly killed me.. another hospital trip!!! They thought I had another bowel obstruction or a ruptured bowel.. it was just the horrific stomach cramps.. they suggest weaning me onto it.. 2ml would have me writhing in pain .. I was advised not to take either again.. it's always me!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
