Hi Ladies, thought I'd dip my toes in the last thread...eeek! I'm 24+1 with nonidentical twin girls! I had a mc in June so I can't believe how I have gotten this far!

The only real thing we've bought so far is the pram (mountain buggy duet) and a couple of bits of clothes. It's only until I readabove about 0-3 clothes swamping an 8lb-er that it's made me realise I need to get loads of newborn stuff then! :rotfl:

    Hope all are well :)

    Welcome over Lulu.

I did the same with my first baby Rambosmum, had a lot of 0-3 months thinking I'd have a big baby as it ran in the family but he was an average 7lb13, 0-3 swamped him. Luckily I had been given some newborn sleepsuits so ended up using them. I have bought a couple of newborn bits this time around.

Had my 28week midwife appointment today, GTT results were normal which is a relief and everything else was fine. More bloods taken to check iron levels and blood group.

It's so hard to know without a crystal ball pigpen! I've got size 1 nappies and 0-3 is the smallest clothes I've bought, if we need smaller I will send DH.

I collected my pram and car seat today. Also bought a playmat while we were there. All getting so close, feel like these last 5 weeks at work will drag!

I've got pretty good at gauging the size and don't ever believe the estimate weights they give you with a scan.. they were 3lb out with one of mine.. and he was only 3lb 10 so they almost doubled his actual weight saying 6lb.. he had a large round tummy and gangly legs.. the measurements they use ae the abdomen circumference and femur length!

I knew Pixie was a long one I couldn't bend.. from her head to bottom she was longer than my torso she had absolutely no room to be in any position other than diagonally, there was simply no room. Joys of an OH 13 inches taller than me!

I played some music to my bump last night. I'm not sure if anyone has heard of Rockabye Baby? They do lullaby versions of different artists, and they're on Spotify. I was playing the twins the David Bowie album and they were kicking away to Life on Mars! I'm trying to get them into good music before OH can edge in with his indie rubbish :rotfl:

Hi Lulu - welcome! I like your thinking with the music haha.

Pigpen 3lb 10oz, awww how cute, so tiny! Was that at full term?

I'm just on my way for my growth scan just now, hoping all is normal. I've heard a few people say they aren't too accurate pigpen. I suspect I might have a long baby too, my dad and husband are both tall so might be in the genes!
  • Good luck at the growthscan.

Due date today and .......... nothing!

feel very deflated for no real reason. I read this morning that waking up on your due date is like Christmas and your birthday in one but you have to roll the dice to see if you get a present. So true!

How are my due date buddies doing. Busy having babies I hope!

Awww devildolly5 hopefully you'll have news soon! Have you anything planned to take your mind off it? A nice bath and lunch or something?

Oops, feeling like such a bad mum already. Just opened my notes to discover I've not only left my scan letter at home (took it out to copy for work) but I got so caught up with the GTT results I forgot all about the whooping cough vaccine!! Just phoned the surgery to try to get an appointment booked. It says between 28-32 weeks so I'm just over, think it still works just less effective. Just hope not having this scan letter won't cause any problems.

Sadly...not! I completely get that feeling though - very accurate! Not even any proper twinges to speak of either :(

Best friend is (provisionally) coming round for the evening on Thursday though and I was wondering whether to start some big sewing or knitting project, you know, something really inconvenient, just to see if that does the trick :p Sis in law suggested we start redecorating and stripping wallpaper! :rotfl:

Fingers crossed for all three of us, that it isn't too much longer to wait :D xxx

My friend always said they should give you an estimated fortnight so there's not so much of a build up to a day that rarely delivers. I kind of get it but I'm sure I'll completely get it if there's nothing on my date! I'm super early for my appointment - was lucky finding a space in the hospital car park for a change! Feels weird not being with my OH for the scan but he's taken time off for the antenatal classes that start tonight and for the next 6 weeks so didn't think it would be worthwhile, he's been to the other 3 scans which were the main ones. Feel bad he's missing out seeing the baby but I want him to save his AL for when he or she arrives. Hoping the scan won't give the game away, don't think u could keep that to myself!
