A baby boy arrived last night at 10.52pm after a 21hour labour, 4 pushing. Forceps in the end and a retained placenta so had forceps with no pain relief (NOT something I recommend) then ended up in theatre with a spinal to remove the placenta. Lost 1L of blood and got no sleep last night as he was grizzly (suspected headaChe from delivery) and wouldn't settle in his cot so ended up sleeping on me all night.so I have had 1hiurs sleep in 36!welcome to motherhood I guess!

    Congratulations

Congratulations Rambosmum! Hope you get some more rest today, and are soon feeling better, enjoy your little bundle :)

Hope the ladies who are waiting don't have long to go either! I'm 30 weeks today, but expecting to get to 42 weeks as I had no signs of labour with DD until sweep/induction. We're starting our hypnobirthing class this week, fingers crossed for a natural calm delivery this time :)

Congratulations Rambosmum!! Hope you managed to get some sleep - I'm sure the lack of it is made up by the lovely cuddles. Good luck to everyone at the top of the list! I was told I won't be allowed to go more than a few days over so hoping it'll happen naturally when the time comes but good to know lemon tree it's not always too bad.

    Congratulations Rambosmum! :T:T

I am all well prepared - nursery ready, bottle machine ready, crib ready - only thing that seems not ready is my body!! :(:(

Really hoping I can go on my own and have a good experience, have read lots of horror stories of induction and interventions etc, which I'd like to avoid if possible.

At least you can relax knowing your ready to go whenever! I'm definately packing my makeup for that first photo that gets shown around lol.

I have started buying things for my hospital bag but in my baby brain zone I've lost my nursing bra. Hoping it's still at my flat as it's brand new with tags!

Still need to buy a few things, a matress and bedding, bouncer chair and playmat. Hoping to get a call about the pram being ready soon. In full flow nesting mode here!

Hope you have news soon hieveryone - must be a long wait!

Thank you! It's so exciting getting all your things ready and organised :)

In a way I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll end up getting induced which I was hoping would 'relax' my brain enough to let go and allow baby to come, instead of counting down to a specific day, but no such luck :rotfl:

Im sure when baby is here and crying all night I'll be wishing for these days of peace in front of the telly!

    Hallo ladies

Congratulations to all the new mommies! Hope that babies are letting you get some rest; with A I definitely took advantage of sleep when the baby sleeps - not sure what will happen this time round?!

Rambosmum, A went through a phase of not sleeping unless I was holding her when she was very new. I took to wearing her in a wrap and sleeping propped up with pillows in a semi-sitting position at night. This way we all got sleep, and there was no chance of me dropping her.

I feel so weird knowing I'm not going to be going to work for well over a year again; especially as I still have another 7 (hoping 6 as planned section) weeks before baby will be here. I feel almost disconnected from real life as OH went back to work today. However, I have made a list of "jobs" to do over the next few weeks, mainly on A's day's in nursery! My jobs for tomorrow include packing bags for myself, baby and one for A just in case baby decides not to co-operate with our planned date.

A is being so cute - she keeps lifting my top up to talk to/ cuddle the baby. Am going to take her shopping to choose some clothes for the baby (not that I need any, but she started going through her wardrobe today looking for something that the baby can have so it doesn't get cold). Think it will be a nice present she can give baby on arrival to make her feel included.

I seem to have started with insomnia, not something I have ever suffered with before and it is driving me mad! Last night I was awake from 1:30 until 4am... saw the midwife this morning and she says it is just one of those things.

I suffered with a totally pregnant brain moment over the weekend. I already have 2 stage 1 car seats (2 cars), and A is almost 3, already in 3 - 4 trousers and nearly 14kgs, I decided to buy the Joie stages car seat - use it rearfacing for baby and then when baby is big enough to go forward facing/ A needs the next stage car seat move baby into the stage 1s I have and use the Joie as stage 2 for A. Took OH's car last week to check the fit of the Joie and it's fine both rear/forward. Took mine at the weekend - fits perfectly rear facing but is not safe as a stage 1... d'oh! I don't need it as a stage 1 seat!! Even if I needed both children in a stage 1, I can put my current ones in my car and use the Joie's in OH's car.
Going to pop back and get them to fit it as a stage 2 just to double check that, but why did I not think of this whilst I was there?!

Hope that everyone is having a good day
    Saf x
