Good luck for next Thursday Rebekah. It's sad that your birth ends up like something to be haggled over when you're higher risk - they go one end of the scale making you need to go completely the other, so hopefully you can come to something reasonable in the middle. Stick to your guns
Exciting times nattykins! Good for you for declining the sweep. In principle I'd love for everything to be natural and spontaneous, but I know by my due date I'll be climbing the walls! Having said that I did realise the other day that the majority of my impatience is actually to do with finishing work (1 week left, yay!), so maybe I'll finish and actually be in no hurry at all for LO to make an appearance. Hope things start up for you soon anywayDS - 08/15

36+1 today and baby is finally head down!! Hoping he/she stays that way now so I have a better chance at a successful VBAC.
Plan for this week is lots of walking/squats to help baby move further down.
I hope all you ladies aren't suffering too much with the heat, im dreading the heatwave forecast for this week xxDue 26th July, team yellow0 -
Its really quiet on here, hope everyone is ok?
Soo, its a full moon tomorrow - apparently the slight change in gravitational pull can cause more labours around this time.
Some wards put on more staff to cope, has anyone else heard of this? xxDue 26th July, team yellow0 -
I'm a grump. My 2 year old is being a pain in the ahole. I'm so sleeeepy and fed up. End of rant.0

Good news about baby's position Missyy
Mine's been head down a while but I'm unsure about their level of engagement - they were 'brim' last Thursday, & whilst I'm getting my fair share of 'daggers' down there, I don't really feel bump has dropped. Breathing is easier though so fingers crossed!
I'll admit this to you guys because you may know where I'm coming from and hey, you're strangers! I was walking around Sainsbury's last night and had a bit of a panic thinking my waters were trickling - well they weren't, but it wasn't pee either. Late pregnancy is so grim! Hopefully another sign baby is engaging if things are...increasing down there.
It's getting to that stage for me Rebekah and I don't have a toddler to deal with! I love the sun I really do, but this stuffy muginess is making everything so much harder! Only 2 more days of work though, so I'm sure I'll feel better once I'm finished.
Hope everyone's okx

I've worked on three labour wards in my time and I've never heard of this!
Hope everyone is doing ok in the heat.0 -

I heard about it in my last pregnancy, down here in Brixham people are more in tune with the full moon as it affects the tides due to the gravitational pull, during the super moon the tides were so high that the roads flooded - its interesting if nothing else!!
I ordered an air con unit yesterday which was delivered today, im sat in front of it naked haha xxDue 26th July, team yellow0 -
Well one of the units was Torbay!
Maybe it was the sort of thing the midwives would natter about but nothing ever came of it.0 -
How's everyone coping with the heat? The school run is really doing me in. I tend to be quite a hot person at the best of times but I have to rest for a good half an hour when I get back from school! Strangely though, I have been sleeping a lot better the last few days, only getting up about 3 times a night instead of the usual 5 or 6!
Ordered the pram a few days ago. Can't wait for it to arrive and have a play. We've pretty much got everything bought now, just waiting for my mum to order the crib for us and I need to get a few things for hospital bag before I think about starting to pack it.0 -
I love the heat, but Wednesday was just ridiculous! I needed about 2 hours to recover when I got back from work, and that was including jumping straight in a cold shower!! Envious of your sleep though muso, it's just not been a very restful week for me...and I LOVE my sleep! Glad you're mostly sorted with everything too.
AFM it's my last day of work today!! Woo for mat leave! Not decided when I'll return yet, probably a maximum of 8 months but it'll have to be dictated by finances. Woo - so excited to finish!DS - 08/15
