Both my babies were over 10lb and after having 2 C-sections im not sure it would be advisable but I will check out the info
They will spin you any bull to put you off. The biggest risk is lack of experience. The "risks" come into play when a consultant delivers you rather than a midwife. Consultants pull baby out with weird manouvers - the experienced (if you can get!) midwife would be completely hands off and leave the baby to deliver itself. Someone touches baby - baby startles - head goes back - and theres your "head getting stuck" risk. Yea arm yourself. I learnt ruddy shedloads from that group! Breech is only a variation of normal.
When I Was planning a new months back the midwife I spoke to (experienced) said that the 2 risks do not make any risk higher - risk of scar rupture - same as in a nromal vbac (whcih is where I am now) - risks of head entrapement - cord prolapse blahdy blah - all hyped up - do your risk on teh stats and the best birthing positions to minimise these risks - the midwives know what htey are doing - the consultants make it into a drama as lets faces it every woman they see is having a non normal birth/delivery that they need to intervene in. They tried to throw the well you have never delivered vaginally card at me but I had done my home work - so she was quite shocked and said well that makes no difference whatsoever as that would still be the same "problem" had I of been cephalic and delivering my 1st baby any way ... I could go on but I won't ;) It's my soap box and I was left angry after CS 1 that I never knew any of these true stats or that I had any rights at all :cool:

Is anyone else a bit fed up now? I'm 32 + 3 and am beginning to get uncomfortable. Plus work is beginning to tire me out, even when I'm trying not to do as much, which is making evenings just a time for me to flop on the sofa.

I appear to be in a bit of a grump today :o

I know what you mean slowly fading - I don't have any problem getting through a days worth of activity but definitely feel it a bit more in the evenings. Not imagine that is going to get better anytime soon.

Rebekah - bit unfair to suggest all consultants would act in that fashion. There is agreed protocol for breech deliveries and it is always hands off. I've seen this done by both doctors and midwives. Everyone is pretty much sat on their hands waiting during the delivery as it goes against your instincts.

Need to get out of my denial box and actually start properly packing my hospital bags.

I missed your post slowlyfading, but I've been done for about a month now and I'm only just coming up to 35 weeks! I actually feel surprisingly good most of the time, bit tired in the evenings as you'd expect but generally pretty spritely still & doing most of the things I did pre-pregnancy. However, it's the impatience that I'm struggling with. I am by far and away the most impatient person I know, and whilst logic tells me I really need to enjoy these last few weeks, I just want to be due now and meet him or her!

I've been pretty organised with hospital bags. Baby's has been ready a while (I got a bit excited around 30 weeks!), and the things missing from mine are still things I want to wear or use before I can pack them. I'm going to get it properly sorted once I go on mat leave in a few weeks, then attempt to leave the damn thing alone rather than unpack and repack like a loon!

Every little thing is tiring me out right now! I have a lot more energy in the evenings but just doing the school run exhausts me and it's only a leisurely 10 min stroll each way!

I've started trying to follow the flylady thread again in an attempt to get the house into some kind of order before baby arrives, although I'm sure DD will mess it all up over the summer holidays!

Starting to think about my hospital bag but probably won't start packing for a few weeks yet. I'm going minimalist this time as we only live a 10 minute drive from the hospital. With DD the journey to the hospital could take anywhere between 40 minutes and 2 hours depending on the time of day so I packed for every eventuality!

Can't believe my due date is next Wednesday!!! My hospital bag is packed- well, my (what seems like) massive case!!! I could have got away with a smaller case but loads of room is taken up by a bag of presents for my husband from me and my son to be.
Don't suppose being a first timer helps either, I've packed for every eventuality (and packed a zombie apocalypse amount of different snacks and sweets etc.....)

Nattykins - snacks are essential! With DD I was in for 2 days before she arrived and couldn't eat a proper meal so existed on Ribena and cereal bars. I was then in for a further 3 days after she was born and I was at the mercy of the staff remembering to take my order while I was attached to a catheter!

Right, I'm looking for some serious pram advice ladies!

Ever since I was TTC I have been coveting the Uppababy Vista. It is so beautiful and does everything we want. A little pricey but my Mum was going to buy it with her staff discount at John Lewis. I've spent this week clearing out the hallway so there is enough room to get it in and out of the house but had completely forgotten to check that it fits in the car boot. We have a Ford B Max, not huge but certainly not a small car! So I popped over to Kiddicare this morning and got them to try it in the boot. The boot is a couple of centimetres too narrow for it to go in the most obvious position. We can turn it on its side and remove the big back wheels (seemed quite easy to do) and it will go in but there is little room for anything else.

Having had a look at everything else in the store my heart is still saying it's the one to go for, but my head is saying it could be an expensive mistake. Will I be getting annoyed with having to take the wheels off all the time or not?

    Points to consider:
Will mostly be used for walking DD to school and for walking trips to the local shops (big shopping basket would be very handy)
    Very occasional bus use
If I was doing weekly shop would not need to take pushchair
Most of my usual driving during the week involves ferrying DD to dance classes, again pushchair not needed for this
If we go out for drive/walks at weekend it is unlikely we would need to take lots of stuff in addition to pushchair in car
The biggest problem I can foresee is visiting family who all live a way away so we have to stay overnight. I doubt we could fit pushchair and stuff for four of us in at the same time, however I'm not convinced we would need the pushchair for these visits anyway

My heads a mess! Any thoughts or suggestions?
