Hi there

Not had chance to get on here over the last couple of weeks but just wanted to update you all with the news that our son was born on 5th May weighing 9lb14oz - the predictions for a big baby were spot on... he was the biggest on the ward for the whole time he was there!

Born by emergency c section after his heart rate pretty much disappeared. It turned out he was totally tied up in his cord - twice around his neck, shoulders and part of his body. Both he and his mum made a speedy recovery and are doing brilliantly now.

Wow, 3 birth announcements since yesterday!

Congrats Trixsie, janed & downhillfast - glad all your little ones are doing well, and all very healthy sizes too! Enjoy this time with them.

Interesting to read your experienced janed as my bub is estimated at around 4lb at 30 weeks, & I have a consultant appointment next week. I'd really like to avoid a C-Section, but would much prefer to have one planned than an elcs if it looks like they'll be too big to push. All speculative at this point anyway, but good to know they made the right call for you
