Congrats fuzzy peg, estate princess, shorty1978 lotti1982 and frsh start11 on your new year new arrivals (sorry my phone is autocorrecting your names)
Sulphate I can highly recommend the batch cooking, plus any project that you need to spend more than 20 minutes on! Now our baby is 5 weeks old, honestly feeding and looking after her, mainly feeding her, takes up all your day!
So if you want to organise your cupboards, sort out your photos, even buy birthday presents for the next six months, get your next insurance gone etc, do that! I was so bored once I was past my due date, but if I realise d how little free time I'd have, I'd have done more things. Oh and read up on chilcare, especially feeding, I wrongly thought I'd haze time to read that when she arrived, and just read up on labour instead!0 -
Congratulations fuzzipeg!! Sorry you ended up having a C-section, but its the end result that matters
How much did the little cherub weigh?? Look after yourself and little one!
Thanks for those who were saying what they got in their Mothercare goody bag! Hopefully they have a bra-fitting specialist at the one we're going to as that's one thing I really need to get sorted. Will have to take my list of baby bits to see what I can get with 10% off, bonus
RE: Whooping cough - my midwife didn't mention it at my 28 week appointment so I brought it up. I made an appointment with the nurse to have it straight after my 32 week appointment in the surgery, but then the surgery got in touch to say they had to cancel so I'm going in a week later! Annoying, but even though the NHS website it can be given up to 38 weeks they recommend having it between 28-32 weeks.
Timeflies - they sound like great ideas to do whilst waiting for baby to arrive. The benefit of hindsight!
How are you feeling now Princess?0 -
Hi all,
I have been following this blog for a few weeks. I am feeling like a voyeur so thought it was about time I joined in
I am a first time mum to be and am 28+1. Due date 1st May (May Day!). So on the final stretch now.
I am a newbie to blogs so learning all the abbreviations. I am guessing OH is other half? DS & DD darling son and daughter?
All your experiences and advice have been great. Good to know others feel the same. Asda bra is great by the way 😄
Some of you are so organised. We have moved our computer room to under the stairs (Harry Potter style) to make room for little un. We have a cot and tons of hand me down clothes but that's about it. Need to get that room painted while I am still mobile 😄
Been to primary today to get cheap labour nightie. Also got some cotton old fashioned pjs as thought they would be good for feeding with the buttons at the front. Also got a cute spotty feeding nightie for £6.
Next challenge is buying a pushchair. Looks like a minefield of too many wonderful choices.
Gosh, I seem. To have gone on a bit.
Just wanted to say hi and thanks

Congratulations fuzzipeg! Hope you and little man are doing well.
Time flies - I've decided to try and make the most of my time without baby. Got very disheartened last week when my braxton hicks kept coming to nothing so now I've decided baby will be at least a week late and will make plans for next week regardless. I've got some meals and homemade soup in the freezer already but we went out shopping today and will go to church tomorrow and then got several trips to the tip to be done then the house is finished - woop! Monday think I'll clean some windows and front door and need to come up with other things for the rest of the week. Should also try and get out for a walk each day as I noticed I started to feel a bit down last week. Think I need a bit of fresh air, sunshine and vitamin D each day.
I'm all ready for if baby does come but if not then I think it will be good to have a plan!
Hope the batch cooking went well sulphate. I've got a gammon joint to cook tomorrow and might freeze the leftovers to make the start of another meal!0 -
Hello alsomething - sounds like you've got it all under control!
We've gone with the uppababy vista pushchair, seems to give us everything we wanted from it but the chassis is pretty wide. We've spent some time this week figuring out where it will be kept once in daily use!0 -
I'm feeling much better thank you missy.
The nursery furniture arrived this morning, 8 massive boxes! OH & his friend are tackling it tomorrow! Really hope they get a lot of it done! Got a couple or storage boxes & sorted packs of wipes into one & baby toiletries in the other, I also washed all of the baby bedding, cot, Moses basket & crib sheets. Spoilt baby with 3 beds!feels fab & very exciting to be doing these things now, can't wait to sort all of the clothes!
Hope everyone has had a nice weekend so far!0 -
Nate was born 7lb 11oz, which was what they estimated him at a couple of weeks ago - he is quite long and skinny like his dad though, so think it's only an average guess based on their bone length.
I'm healing well though still horribly bruised, but managed to persuade them to discharge me on Saturday, so we're settling into a routine at home now. Mercifully, the diabetes looks to have gone, so there is light at the end of the tunnel for anyone coming after me!The midwife visited yesterday and gave us all a clean bill of health too - quite frankly a day where we're all clean, fed and dressed is declared a win in my book.
Hope everyone else is doing well too xxMFW 01/01/17 - £123,279.40
