  • hippihaz, I have my first antenatal class this evening so I shall let you know how I get on :) I've booked on to the NCT essential course which is 5 x 2 hrs then a 2 hr reunion after babies are born. I missed out on NHS free ones as they were fully booked, so if you are looking to get on some, no matter who is running it, I would get in touch as soon as possible.

millysg1 - how are you feeling now? I've suffered from that badly a couple of times through my pregnancy but I've no idea what caused it. I do know that the cramps were agony! I actually wondered to myself if this is what labour feels like as they were so bad, and then I thought labour is probably much worse which scared the life out of me! I just tried to drink lots of water, cut down on fizzy drinks and tried to eat more fibre, but whether that helped or not I don't know, perhaps it just passed on its own. Hope you're feeling better.

alsomething, sorry to hear you've not had a great week but as you said, at least it means they are keeping a close eye on you and you get to see baby more often :) Hope this week is a better one for you!

Glad your mum is here safe and sound Mrs_T_M, how often do you normally see her out of interest? My mum lives just round the corner and I see her everyday, I can't imagine her being across an ocean! Get lots of rest as you wait for baby to make an appearance :)

Oh dear Aunty-Pickle, sounds like you're having a mare of a time :( Hugs to you and hopefully everything sorts itself out. Perhaps use the pregnancy card to try and get a plasterer to come in sooner? I know the feeling as we are still in limbo with the building work that we are supposed to have doing but we are still no closer on finding out a date. I know its hard but try to think of the positive that will come out of all the downs you're having, just keep thinking of the beautiful baby that will make you forget all of the crap you're going through now!

Always_Alone - estimated birth weight according to growth chart and also from weight at the 4d scan estimates an 8-9 lb chunk! DH and I were both big babies and my family typically have big babies (my cousin just had a 10lb-er ) so I'm bracing myself :o Oh dear, how many weeks will you be in 2 weeks time if they are looking to induce? That's a scary thought to think you could be meeting the little one earlier than planned, but also a lovely one too to save you waiting :)

As for me, I have just two words which I think sums up me feelings succinctly... HALF TERM!!! :j:j:j NCT class this evening so I'll update you all to tell you how it went. Happy Friday people and Happy Valentines for tomorrow :p

I talk to her on the phone nearly every day. Moved over here in April 2012, went to see family for Thanksgiving (November) that same year, then I didn't see her again until May-July 2014, and now this time. It all depends on finances as to how often we get to visit each other. We are hoping to go spend baby's first Christmas in the States this year, but we will see.

  • Yay for half term missy! Enjoy your class tonight.

Mrs TM enjoy having your mum over, how long is she staying for?

I went shopping with my sister today, stopped for lunch 1st which was lovely & then she bought the baby change bag from John Lewis for us, they had some gorgeous ones which were just like a handbag but a bit much at £200, I wouldn't want a baby going near it! Excited to be able to pack bits in there & I'm planning on doing some washing of baby clothes this weekend to aid sorting the massive pile of baby stuff!! Mainly it's nappies now but have a few other things to put away.

Hope everyone has a good weekend & fingers crossed for some twin by baby news! x

Hi ladies just a quick update. despite my preparing for a 42 week pregnancy baby Cameron arrived on tuesday 10 february at 01:25 weighing 6lb 2oz :j:j:j

If someone could update my details on list would be appreciated!
  • Congratulations sulphate!
  • Amazing news sulphate!! Wow, bet that took you by surprise but at least you didn't have a long wait :) Hope the birth wasn't too bad and that you are enjoying newborn cuddles now. Congratulations to you :)

My class was fine, I was a bit apprehensive at first with the whole 'introduce yourself and your baby', but it was actually quite informative and the group seem like a lovely bunch. I was expecting the time to drag, especially considering the late start time, but it actually went really fast! I'm looking forward to next week - talking about labour! Sulphate, perhaps you could add an insight into this :p

Until the middle of April. I'm enjoying it, even if she wouldn't stop cleaning our kitchen today! Oh well, means I don't have to wash dishes for a while, lol!

  • Once Nicky Noo Na and Mrs T M have their babies, there is quite a gap before the next are due! Though I bet it will go very quickly.
  • Hello people, hi to the newbies and welcome

congrats to anyone I've missed who's had their baby

fingers crossed for all overdue/nearly due etc

just a little update from me
I'm anaemic and have been prescribed iron tablets so hopefully should feel less knackered soon
I had glucose in urine (for the second time) so have been referred for GTT
Our nursery has gone from bad to worse - roofers working on it this week (which is wonderful) but.... all decent plasterers seem booked up until... April. I know baby will be in with us to start with but all furniture etc is stuffed into spare bedroom so nowhere for my mum to sleep when she comes up and I'm just really stressed thinking nothing is sorted....
My SPD/PGP is worse as is heartburn
Mental health midwife and "normal" midwife are being unsupportive of specifications in my birth plan and say I should consider a c-section and if I don't "co-operate" I might have to have one?!?!!!???!!
good news is baby has turned from breech to head down (31 weeks today) so hopefully will stay like that

sorry, it's turned into a bit of a miserable post but I'm so tired and so much is happening and so stressed and still crying a lot.
I'm still reading your posts and sending hugs and positive thoughts etc to people though!

Auntiepickle, no one can force you to do anything, it's your choice. Why are they wanting you to have a c section? Is it to do with your surgery?
