Welcome Krusty Louise!
I've got some hypnobirthing CDs - I hope they work! I'm also going to Lazy Daisy birth classes which have been really helpful. They focus on breathing techniques and movements to help in labour etc.
Ooooh, pancakes!!! What a good idea!Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
Hi Ladies, hope you are all feeling better than I am ! I have a streaming cold with the full works of shivers and sweats and aches etc and it's my 4th one this year - I'm getting really fed up of it now - the joys of a 2 year old who brings them all home from nursery:(. I gave up on work yesterday lunch time and have been off today and mainly watching scooby-doo with DD1 who is also suffering. Thankfully she's gone for her nap now so I can have a quiet afternoon and some chocolate ! Take it easy all and enjoy the sunshine.:D0

Welcome krustylouise
Always - I'm glad you did get checked and everything is ok, always worth it just for the reassurance. Hugs to you though for still feeling worried. Hope you're feeling a bit better now.
Mrs_T_M, sending labour vibes but remember, baby will only come when he's ready! And if he's a stubborn so and so, he may want to stay comfy for a few more weeks
Enjoy your walk Nicky, its lovely here too so I've been doing loads of washing, both our own laundry but also baby bits which I just keep starting at on the line like a mad womanCome on baby Noo Na, it's eviction time!
No experience of that pram alsomething, but I found that all were much of a muchness so I'm sure it will do the job fineExciting that the nursery is coming along, I go in mine for the sake of it even when I don't need anything because I love it so much
Hugs jane, hope the chocolate works its magic. Enjoy your quiet time while you can!
milly - sorry you had a rough night again but glad work are understanding. Hope you manage to get some rest later, maybe get OH to make the pancakes
For those talking about pancakes, I scored wife points this morning by getting up at 7am before DH went to work to make pancakes for his breakfastI had a couple too then had a nap on the sofa
Round the parents tonight for more, mmmmm!
I feel like I've been quite productive today, had my whooping cough jab and then popped in to Sainsbury's where their clothing is 25% off so I bought some more of their jogging bottoms in the sporty section. I've been wearing them to work and they are great, they aren't maternity but they're lovely and stretchy. Also got some nice soft bras in there too, plus some non-bio washing powder and conditioner that was all on offer! Also bought some curtains for the nursery, but realised I have to go back out to get curtain hooksOh well, just about to put another load in the machine and then I'll nip into town again quickly whilst I'm still in a productive mood! As of tomorrow, its operation put feet up and mark books...

I'm 40+6 today and feeling like a whale! I think bump has dropped a little so I'm waddling a bit more.
The sunshine is out today so about to go for a nice long walk to try and get things moving!
I looked at pictures of my bump on 2 Feb and 6 Feb and noticed a definite drop! So hopefully yours is on the way!!
For those who asked I have posted my birth story on the thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/67744168#Comment_67744168
Very much enjoying being a mummy unfortunately my stitches have come out which means a bit of a longer more painful recovery timeMy DH is off work til Monday and already dreading him going back.
Also thought it might be useful to post what I found particularly useful/not in hospital?
Useful: straws to drink in labour (also useful to drink when bfeeding!) - thank you to whoever recommended this!, big granny pants, lots of maternity pads, cereal bars/snacks, lucozade, unattractive nighties
Not useful: disposable knickers from Boots, do not recommend, I was a size 12 pre pg and 14 during so bought the size 14-16, they were so small I couldn't even get them on!
If I had to give any more tips I would suggest bouncing on a ball and doing necessary exercises/positions to help baby get in optimum position. I definitely didn't do that as much as I should.0 -
Thank you so much for finding the time to post your birth story sulphate
Sorry to hear about the stitches, but I'm sure every time you look at your little boy it all seems worth it. Hope you're on the mend nice and quickly and enjoy the time off with your OH.
Thanks also for the list of useful/non useful things to take! I'm pleased that I've got everything on the useful list already, although not packed yetand I also decided against disposable knickers for the same reasons you mentioned. I've also heard they can be scratchy and sit on the site of a C-section scar, so I'm going to go for cheapo supermarket granny pants
Another thing about the pants I read online from mums posting their experiences is to get light, not dark colours. That way you can see a lot more easily if you have leaked or had an accident and need to change pads, whereas it can be harder to see on black or dark pants. If you're going to throw them away after it won't matter if they stain, just chuck them straight in the bin.
Welcome wendz, pleased everything is going well for you so far0 -
Glad all went well Suplate, is a good positive story!
I bought big primark knickers last time but they dug right in still so stuck to my normal knickers in the end!0 -
about the big knickers - I had a c-section last time and the midwife suggested using just a normal but old pair and cutting the elastic off across the front. this seemed to work really well.
I've just been reading some of the birth stories and although Sulphate, your one sounds good there are some scary ones on there. Must stay away from that thread until after the day ! Last time was bad enough but thankfully I seem to have blotted that from my mind.0 -
