Hello I'm hopping on to this thread for the first time I think, I am 25 weeks
It's very exciting to be reading the birth announcements and the hospital bag talk, although I've till a while to go before I tart thinking about that really.
A urine sample at the MWs had keytones and protein in it, my MW did not say what that meant but just asked me to do it again. Waiting for the results from it but I'm not sure whether I should be worried or not. I've read that it can be a sign of infection or pre-eclampsia but I've been feeling fine.
We don't have a nursery to decorate this time round, baby will be in our room until it can move in with its big brother or sister. I do really need to sort our bedroom out though, it is a mess and needs furniture shifting around to fit a cot into! I'd love new carpet/laminate, but it's a rented house so no point really. Also, I came across this article and wondered if anyone on here delayed decorating until they baby was a year old?
I don't think I have many things to buy. I will reuse the pram from last time if I can get the wheels repaired. Baby needs a new cot though so I'm considering an Ikea one, and new carseat, and then we're set

Hi gayleygoo!! I was wondering when/if you were going to join this thread! It's not too scary here after all!!! (well, at the moment it isn't!)
Hope everything is ok with your urine sample. It could be a UTI ("waterworks" infection) and apparently they are fairly common in pregnancy and you can feel quite well with them with no apparent symptoms. Good thing it's being followed up though.
Interesting article - although it appears to focus exclusively on flooring issues. We're leaving the carpet as is (it's a kind of neutral beige/brown/grey colour) so fortunately that won't affect us.
We've bought a few things off ebay and we've been given things. MIL has kindly bought the pram/buggy. All we NEED to get now is a car seat and it's doing my head in - just can't quite decide!!!!!Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
Hiya Ladies. 25 weeks now so joining the last thread, how exciting!
Suffering a bit with SPD and morning sickness still but otherwise ok, and baby is a right little wriggler.
We're not really organised at all in terms of buying. So far we've got a bouncer, Moses basket, playmat and clothes. Need to decide on a buggy and car seat, although the Maxi Cosi cabriofix is half price at argos so that might be the one
Hope you're all well xxStarted Comping Jan 2014

Hi georgie!!! Hooray! Welcome to the thread!
This is the Argos Maxi-Cosi that's half-price. It's only the colour black - but they do have red with 1/3 off. I think I remember that some stores will price match but not sure which ones. Most Argos stores are (not surprisingly) out of stock now.

Welcome to Georgie, Phoenix and gayleygoo :hello:
Nicky Noo Na - sorry to hear you've been really unwell, and also having to undergo major renovations! Don't try to worry too much about rushing with the nursery, as remember baby probably won't be sleeping in there too much until they are around 6 months. I've been doing the same worrying about the state of our nursery, but have to keep reminding myself that baby will be in with us first
Trixsie - sorry you're feeling a bit down at the moment with lots of tests coming up. Try and focus on your wedding, that should be a huge happy occasion to look forward to and take your mind off things. How is everything coming along with the wedding?
Princess - I've not weighed myself for months because we don't have scales at our house, but I'm going to my mums later so I'll try and remember to weigh myself over there. I'm not looking forward to finding out how much weight I've put on
fuzzipeg - wow you sound like everything could be happening very soon! Fingers crossed it all works out and you've managed to find some spaceLooking forward to an announcement soon
Aunty - thanks as always for updating the listsHave you given any more thought to getting your breathlessness looked at before your 28 week appointment? When I mentioned it to my midwife she just said it is all normal, but if you are feeling that you actually can't breathe then I would be tempted to have it checked out. Better safe than sorry!
Tilly - another one with builders coming in, as am I (although no idea when) We must all be mad organising building work so close to our babies coming, but then I suppose better for it to happen before than when baby is here. Hopefully none of the work overlaps or goes on for longer than expected!Hope your consultant appointment goes well on Monday.
Always - glad you're feeling a bit more positive about everything. How did your appointment go?
Lotti - how exciting that you are now on maternity leave. Now its just the waiting gameHopefully you get lots of rest and relaxation in the last few weeks, enjoy your last few weeks of freedom!
Phew! I said before I need to try and come on more often to keep up but that clearly didn't workNow I'm back at work it has all gone slightly mental. I've got marking coming out of my ears - my dining table has now vanished under all the work! - and its now coming up to report-writing season. This is obviously on top of my normal weekly planning, so I'm feeling very busy and overwhelmed at the moment
5 weeks until half term, bring it on!!!!

Just weighed myself and I've put on 12kg, going from 73kg at my first appointment to 85kg today
I've logged it into my pregnancy app and then read the attached information, thought I'd share as it may be of interest to some of you:
A woman who is underweight at the beginning of her pregnancy will need to gain, on average, between 28 and 40 pounds (13 and 18 kilos) during her pregnancy. A woman who starts her pregnancy at a normal weight will need to gain between 25 and 35 pounds (11 and 16 kilos), while an overweight woman will only need to gain between 15 and 25 pounds (7 and 11 kilos). A woman who is expecting twins can gain between 35 and 45 pounds (16 and 20 kilos). All these values are based on your starting weight and should be discussed with your doctor.
I would class myself pre-pregnancy as normal/slightly overweight, so looks like I shouldn't be putting much more on, if at all! I do think Christmas has a lot to answer for thoughWhilst I won't diet, I will make sure I eat a but more carefully and try to exercise more. Back to the swimming pool for me!
