Hi ladies, i think i posted once before xmas and have been AWOL since! Hope everyone is doing ok? I've been trying to read and keep up whilst at work but don't seem to have a minute to post!!
I am 29 weeks tomorrow and and time seems to be flying by! Had an extra scan at the hospital today and they have scared the life out of me by advising that i now need to have weekly scans and steroids as baby is measuring small and the chance of a early labour is relatively high.
My ds was 5 weeks early and weighed in at 4lb5 so i was prepared for this one to be measuring small but cried when i was told about weekly scans and steriodsCan't really explain it but the urgency with which they were talking and the language used has really put the frightners on me. I'm supposed to be starting maternity leave on 6th Feb when i'll be 33 weeks but am assuming this might change now so will need to play things by ear.
You'd think after the above and past history we'd be prepared but we are completely not!! No moses basket, no hospital bag, no moses basket, not clothes/nappies/wipes ready. Shall i start panicking now?!?
Anyways, if you've managed to read all that ramble, i congratulate you! and also apologise for the verbal diarrhoea but needed to vent somewhere!0 -

Ah Always, that must have been scary. Don't panic about not being prepared, there are so many websites with lists of what you need, just have a look through & work on the essentials, hospital bag so you're not stressing about that if anything does start early. Baby only needs somewhere to sleep, a few baby grows and a lot of love. Asda have a baby even starting next week, 17th online and 19th in store. Just make a list & get ticking items off. xx0

Hi ladies
Haven't posted for ages but been reading - just struggling to find time.
Congratulations shorty and freshstart!!! Enjoy your little bubbas.
We started NCT classes this week which was really good. The people there were all really lovely so I'm very hopeful of a good time.
We also put up the cots on the weekend - it's quite real and scary seeing the 2 cots in place now. I keep going into the room to just look at them.
Still don't have a lot of things that are essential but we have written a list including all the items needed for my hospital bag so now just need to get out and get them.
Only 4 more weeks of work and I've now started reduced office hours. I have so much to do and getting anxious about getting it all done in time.
Still need to think of names for the babies - I never realised how hard it would be!
Hope everyone's week is going smoothly.0 -
Bubble pops he has turned himself around so we're all ready to go now, congratulations shorty, glad your perfect little boy is here.
Always I'm sure your lovely baba will be absolutely perfect, they're more aware this time of what could happen so it's reassuring to know they're keeping such a close eye on you, I'm sure they'll do whatever they can to prevent an early birth again xxPlanning to be debt free by 11/20. Massive congratulations to freshstart and shorty!! :j
freshstart - hope you're recovering well, sounds like the delivery wasn't very straightforward but at least it was all worth it. Enjoy your little girl
shorty - you've got a big boy there, well done you! And your first name choice is my husband's first choice of name if its a boy
dingdong - just in case you're still around, I have religiously put on some form of cream every night before I go to bed since finding out I was pregnant at 4 weeks (I have it next to the bed so I won't forget) and now sometimes in the morning, then my nan bought me some Bio-Oil so I've now switched to that. So far *touch wood* I've not had any stretch marks appear on my belly, but whether the cream/oil has contributed to that I have no idea. Some people are prone to getting them no matter what they do or how many lotions or potions they use, they will still appear. I have quite a lot on my legs hence why I thought I may as well try early on, but I'm still only 27 weeks and so I've got a lot of growing to do yet!
Carrot - good to see you are doing well. I agree about names! We got bought two name books for Christmas and I've got 3 apps but still not decided! Hope your last few weeks at work aren't too stressful.
Always - I know it seems scary that you have to have scans and steroids, but try and see it as a positive. If a problem arises or baby doesn't grow as expected, it will be picked up in a really good time which can only be a good thing, right!? It just seems scary that you have to have all those extra appointments. And don't worry about not having everything sorted, there's still plenty of time and you may able to get lots of stuff all in one place and done in one go. Good luck!
Apologies to those I missed, I need to get on here more regularly so I don't miss out0 -
Aww congratulations fresh, I have been popping on here to see when you had your baby
. I remember how sore I was with my first, it was agony and I think worse than the c-section pain after the first few days. If no one has mentioned it a jug of water when you wee and badedas bubble bath is brilliant stuff. Enjoy.
Congrats also to shorty, I love the name, was one of my favs.0
