  • I managed to see my midwife this morning as it was the day she's at my GP surgery. She said it's all normal, the baby has moved round and is head down but has it's bum sticking out on the side & legs & arms on the other side. Heatbeat was fine, she has referred me to physic tho, as so many women suffer from this, she's referred me for pelvic girdle pain, they run it as a class once a month so you're not waiting too long to see someone. Phoned work & I'm going to stay off the rest of the week, hoping a bit of rest will make walking a bit easier & I haven't been sleeping great due to waking every time I moved so I'm feeling pretty shattered too.

All fun & games isn't it! Glad I got to see my midwife tho, very reassuring & she's really lovely. Hope everyone else is feeling ok! x
  • Also, it's if you take time off sick within 4 weeks before your EDD you have to start mat leave then. The following is taken from gov.uk (https://www.gov.uk/working-when-pregnant-your-rights)

Maternity leave and Statutory Maternity Pay will start automatically If the employee is off work for a pregnancy-related illness in the 4 weeks before the baby is due - it doesn’t matter what has been previously agreed.
Thank you for clarifying this Aunty, I knew I had read something about this, I just wasn't sure of the exact time :)

Glad you're feeling reassured Princess and that you managed to get an appointment, hopefully being off work for the rest of the week will do you some good!

As for me I've been fine, it's been funny as I've definitely popped out more and there's no mistaking I'm pregnant now, but I've been getting comment upon comment about it at work now! Initially when I saw my form class I had an 'Oh my god you're massive!' (yeah, thanks :o), and I've had at least 5 members of staff who don't normally say a word start asking me how everything is going. Of course I love talking about it, but I've still got 12 weeks of this to get through and I'm only going to get bigger :p

Finally, for those of you who haven't got the Mothercare mobile app yet, I got an email through to say that if you download it you will be sent a promo code for £10 off a £50 spend (full-price items only)

  • Hiya ladies (and gents if there are any on here)

I'm around 13 weeks and just wondering if anyone thinks any stretch mark oils/creams etc are worth buying or if it's inevitable I'll get them anyway?

Looking forward to hearing back from you :)
  • Congratulation fresh start! Hope you're feeling ok! x

I think if you're going to get stretch marks you can't stop them, they come from so deep I doubt any cream would actually work.

I don't think that any cream can prevent stretch marks 100%. I'm covered with new ones, but the cream and lotion does help with the itching that they cause!

Hugs to those with aches and pains, hope you're all feeling ok.

Sorry to hear about your building work aunty pickle our house is in uproar, so you thoroughly have my sympathies.

Lottie how did your scan go? Has bubs moved? Check out your organising skills!!

princess Kate glad you've seen your MW and are going to rest up.

fresh start :j hope you're recovering well, and what a lovely name.

Wonder how shorty is getting on?

Sorry if I've missed anyone-my iPad misses random posts out.

AFM-had a (possibly too) productive day yesterday, and spent most of today in bed. Got a little bit done today in the kitchen, and ordered some more bits and bobs for munchkin.

Realised today that my redundancy money is nearly gone, so had a bit of a cry about that, made me realise I'm not contributing anymore, but OH was lovely, and I'm going to ring tomorrow to see what I'm entitled to get. I've always worked, so this is new territory for me.

More kitchen decorating tomorrow, hoping to get it done by the end of the week, so I can start on the bedroom next week.
