hope you manage to have some sort of birthday too!!!
hope all the other ladies get things happening too!!!Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
Thanks ladies- just back from hospital. Had induction pessary and was monitored for a while. They want to try and let nature take it's course but if not then i'm back in tomorrow at 11 to stay until the baby comes.
Going to sleep thru my birthday now so that I am well rested
Hoping everyone else is doing well and that Freshstart's induction is going to plan.
Will keep you ladies posted0 -
Hi all, just a quick one from me but I feel I have to post as I'm so excited - we've bought (and spent
) LOADS today!!!
* Pushchair (plus free changing bag)
* Carseat & base, plus adaptors for pushchair
* Snuzpod and bedding bundle
* Cotbed (plus a free bedding bundle)
Altogether it came to just under £1100  but we also saved around £100 with a 10% off voucher and we got it all in one place so it was super easy. Everything was in stock except the base and cotbed so its starting to feel a lot more real now we have the major purchases out of the way and actually at homeNeed to get back to my list and do some more ticking off
Good luck shorty and Timeflies, thinking of you! Hope to hear some baby news soon0 -
have a good rest shorty!
ooh yes, freshstart, hope things are happening for you today!
ah missymoo - which is worse? the amount of money when you're spending on several items all in one day - or the fact that what you're buying is because you're actually going to have A BABY  lol!
hope everyone else is feeling fabulous....Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
Very exciting missy, what made you pick the oyster pushchair? Have you gone for the pram carrycot too?
We're also planning on getting the Oyster but have just booked a nursery planning appointment in John Lewis next sunday. Give us a proper chance to look through everything. I think they give you tea & cake too! I was that which convinced OH, men!
We order the furniture for the nursery on friday from Mamas & papas. It wasn't cheap but OH's parent have said they'll help us out with it but I don't know how much that means. I find it very awkward talking about money but we might just drop into converstation that we've ordered it & hopefully that will give them a nudge. My mum has given us some money to get the pushchair with but there will be quite a bit left over from that and my dad has bought the carseat & isofix base. I really feel like we're getting there, just need to get the room decorated & the carpet laid before the furniture gets delivered. Got quite a massive pile of baby elated items in the spare room now & I can't wait to be able to put everything away & make the room look lovely, getting very exciting now.
Still struggling to sleep now & again, was awake from 3-6 this morning & had to get up at 8 to get ready to meet a friend for coffee. Hopefully I'll get an early night tonight before going back to work tomorrow, only 7 weeks left. Yay!!
Has anyone had their whooping cough jab yet? I've got mine next wednesday and a few friends who have had it have said they felt quite poorly after it.0 -
Princess Kate - you sound really organised!!! How lovely for people to contribute towards big items. It certainly takes the pressure off. MIL has offered to contribute towards the pram which is nice.
I'm back at work on Tuesday after being off since 3rd November! eek!
I'm having my whooping cough jab at my 28 week appointment in a few weeks time.Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
Princess (sorry if I've answered these already on the FB group!
) To be honest, we chose it first because of looks
My mind was pretty much made up anyways rightly or wrongly, but then trying it out in the shop it was just so easy! Plus it is quite light and folds down to a really good size - it just seems very user friendly! Then when we found out the Aton Q fits (Aunty am I right in thinking you are also looking at this?), our mind was definitely made up as that was DH's main thing he wouldn't budge on because of it's safety reviews - and dare I say it colour! Using Maxi-Cosi adaptors, the carseat clicks in and out so easily, albeit its a little heavy but that's the car seat and not the pram. I didn't even try out other buggies, just felt that this was the one
We're not getting the carry cot as the pram lays near horizontal anyways and is suitable from birth, plus we will probably use the car seat with it more in the early days for short periods. I think the guideline is no more than 2 hours in a carseat, and we can't really think of any time where baby would be in the pram for longer than 2 hours at a time so we will try and do without.
That's good that John Lewis do appointments (with refreshments!) My mum and I were waiting for over half an hour to be served in the shop today as they had only 2 members of staff and both couples they were dealing with were trying out EVERY SINGLE PRAM  absolutely fine to do that as its a big purchase (although I didn't:o) but they should have appointment systems for trials and testing to save us and others in the shop waiting.
That's great that you're having things bought for you or being given money, it really helps lighten the load doesn't it!? We are also lucky in that my grandparents have given us money towards the pram and my parents have offered to pay for the cotbed, so that's actually just over half of what we spent today
Oh no, I've not had anything mentioned to me about whooping cough! I've got my 28 week appointment in 2 weeks, I wonder if she'll just spring it on me with no warning!? I think she said I need bloods taken at the next appointment, so it will be a pleasant one to look forward to then... I'm also dreading the measurement of my bump after all this festive eating :rotfl:
Right, enough babbling from me, off to bed because its back to work for me tomorrow:(:( Night all!

Missy, you're meant to have your whooping cough jab from 28 weeks I think, I've got my 28 week appointment next wednesday & have an appointment with the nurse straight after it to have the jab, think the midwife will take the bloods tho. Maybe give your midwife a ring to check just incase its been forgotten.
We're of the same thinking about the Oyster pushchair. Didn't seriously look at anything else but will have a proper look & play on sunday in John Lewis. I do want to get the carrycot as I've got a thing about little babies in a pram, too cute! Also think/hope it will encourage me to go out for walks! Not sure how that will work out tho! We've got the maxi cosi car seat and isofix base.
Properly back to work today, only been in 2 days between christmas and today and I really don't want to , looking forward to the fact that I've only got 7 weeks left in work! Yay!0 -
I'm so happy that I can finally update this with a gender for our little one! We found out today that we are team BLUE!
