We had a little girl on Thursday 8 at 15.11 weighing 8lb 8oz. We've named her Isla.
I've had two nights in hospital, could have gone yesterday and just had one but took a funny turn when getting me out of bed. All is good now though so we're off home this afternoon.

Not rating this pelvic pain but counting down the days.
Hospital bag still not done ordered a new one over a week ago from debenhams tripp luggage rest of order came with Hermes v quickly and tripp send theirs direct with bloody yodel and 4 attempts now of me sitting in waiting n nothing yesterday tracking even says delivery not attempted why ask you to rearrange then, they have lied about leaving a card on other days n I have been here. Facebook message with debenhams has been rubbish got to see if it arrives tomorrow they know I need it for hospital and I have suggested they send one out special delivery at their cost to arrive by 9am tues or a refund be issued by this time - think I will stick with John Lewis in future.
Have checked pushchair fits in car bit of Tetris event but should be ok.
Cot bed now has sheets on, cot bumper n mobile - all to look nice and poss lay baby in if upstairs but by time baby goes in there will remove bumper. Crib also made up ready.
Ds 4yrs has road tested buggy board n been reminded only for on long walks not just because he fancies a ride.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We had a busy one so I've booked today off work, so glad!
We were very productive and bought our cot! Such a big thing as we've been looking for weeks and finally found one we liked, bit of a gamble as it was second hand off eBay but it's lovely! Hubby wasn't that keen on secondhand so we just thought we'd bid up to a max of £10 and could always re-sell if we didn't like it but it's in near perfect condition and exactly what we wanted and we got it for only £6.50! Bargain! So glad we held out for an oak one that we wanted as now we can get the other furniture we like (IKEA pax wardrobe and malm drawers if needed) so the whole set for under £300! Nursery needs a bit of attention with plastering that hubby will do in the next couple of weeks and then we can paint it and it's done! Such a load off my mind.
My mum made a bit box of baby bits which she brought round yesterday. It was so generous! Baby clothes, bibs, hats, scratch mitts, bath stuff, nappies, wipes and even a cute little brush and comb! Along with our little collection of clothes and muslins we're now doing pretty well. Just need to buy mattresses for the Moses basket (another bargain at £1) and the cot and then try and decide on a pram!
We are also contemplating doing more decorating before baby comes so going to get some quotes and decide on that too. So relieved it feels like it's all coming together!
Has everyone else got a pram chosen?0 -
That was a good bargain Nicky and you can spend the money on other things - babies r us have a good quality matress at mo half price for £80 all one I got for our cotbed was £40 on Amazon n is similar sprung one.
Our pram is sorted got some time ago and is a stokke xplory and brought set hand is the previous model as that's what budget allowed.0 -
I have the same mattress as freebie from amazon. I am really impressed. Only opened it yesterday but it seems better quality than the expensive babies r us one. Fab cot bargain though
We also had a productive weekend. Washed all the car seat and pram covers. All the bedding is washed and away and baby clothes washed.
Still feel very useless as I can't do things as I end up in too much pain. Trying to be positive about labour but still scared of the potential complications. Sure all will be fine. Midwife tomorrow.0 -
Mr knight I sympathize with the pain my pelvic pain is awful.
I only opened the mattress yesterday also and yes excellent quality and got my fitted sheets from asda lovely star print £9 for 2.0 -
Thanks for the advice on mattresses, found them on Amazon, good reviews and great price so another job done and we ordered our pram and car seat today, yey!
I've gotten so much sorted the past few days it feels great. Off to my last parent craft class tonight so might even have an idea how to look after a baby in a few hours! Lol0 -
Hi everyone,
Congratulations to all who have recently had their babiesI see I'm moving up the list and feeling slightly nervous!
I've not been on the thread for ages but have been reading
I'm 37+2 today and feeling big and cumbersome! Been having some kind of insomnia every other night which has meant I'm so tired the next day, luckily my dd (20 months) has been such a good girl, she's been no trouble. Does anyone else wake up and then lay awake for hours?
Sadly my fil passed away last week and his funeral is next week when I'll be over 38 weeks, we live about 2 hours from my parent-in-laws and dh doesn't drive so it'll be me. Just praying baby stays put until at least the day after! Think I'll take my notes/bags with me just in case!
Hope everyone else is well and preparing for their little ones to arrive!
Trying to live a good life on little money :T0 -
