Hello,
How is everyone doing ?
I will be 34 weeks tomorrow and feeling ever so tired. Don't know how I will manage the last 4 weeks of work.
Did so much today three loads of washing and drying of all baby clothes and done packing a changing bag and clothes bag for baby for hospital. Still need to pack my bag for hospital but feeling so relieved that I got something done.Saving goal for BTL mortgage - 28600 / 60000 ( July 2021) , 37600/60000 (December 2021) , 39300 / 60000 (august 2022) , 41000/60000 ( January 2023)0 -

Nicky this is the furniture we currently have in the nursery:
Cotbed: http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Nursery/Cots-and-Cotbeds/Cambridge-Cotbed-in-Natural(0099941)
Wardrobe: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S29876651/#/S29032661
Chair for nursing (we only bought this 2 weeks ago but it seems to have disappeared from the Ikea website, very similar to this though): http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90078462/
Bookcase, which I've had since I was a child lol.
None of them were part of a set, but seem all go together ok. Never really considered Babies R Us and were originally going to get a cotbed from Mothercare, but the stores we went in don't stock any and you have to order them online for delivery which is a pain because both of us work full time more or less and taking time off work is tricky for both of us at the moment. Same benefit with shopping at Ikea if you're close enough to one. Plus wardrobe fits a lot in (shelves, drawers, hanging space, wire basket etc) whilst still being compact.
We aren't getting a changing unit but will be getting this: http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Bathing/Changing-Mats/Cot-Top-Changer-in-Polka-Dot(0015905) - space saver and much more reasonable than some cot top changers I've seen.
Thanks for the heads up about the vista. I doubt we'll be getting the new version but just went on the FB page and it seems like a lot of retailers won't be replenishing their stock of the current version and sure enough JL are out of stock in some colours already. There are some deals on online stores but we face the same problem with getting stuff deliveredSeems a bit of a racket that some shops won't be reducing the price. Perhaps we'll think about ordering it sooner rather than later..
Thanks for the reassurance about movement - that's what I thought too.
How did you get on with the craft class?
Loveactually do you have an active job or is there a possibility you can take a day's leave now and again before you go on mat leave, to help the tiredness a bit? Best of luck in the forthcoming weeks to you and Angela0 -
Hope everyone is ok. Finally getting sorted and I am wondering how I could possibly have done another week at work. Unfortunately I am in quite a lot of pain and feeling a wee bit miserable about it. Hubby isn't great either so trying to get on with things and look after a toddler but it isn't easy at the moment. No family near but we did have my mum for a couple of days last week which was such a help. Just wish my lo would sleep.
Met the HV last week....she is very to the point.Has anyone seen bringing up baby? Her views reminded me of the lady who had the 1960 approach lol. No idea what she will think of me as I am in between the dr Spock and continuum concept. Already when I mentioned about my lo being a bad sleeper she was straight onto controlled crying. To be fair I am going to try and follow the baby whisperer routine just so baby can learn to self settle, think that was my mistake last time. However I will have to see how this baby responds to it
Have a nice Sunday everyone. I have the slow cooker already on with a stew in for tea.0 -
Chair for nursing (we only bought this 2 weeks ago but it seems to have disappeared from the Ikea website, very similar to this though): http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90078462/
sulphate - I love that chair! I really like the fact that you can still rock, but no moving bits for baby to get fingers caught in nor any rockers (had an accident when I was 3 - week before I turned 4 - with a rocking chair rocker going through my upper lip!). The only downside, the seat width is 55cm and I need a 70cm width.Just means that I'll need to keep looking (or see if I can get one like that without the arms!).
I am finally, now in my second pregnancy, officially joining this thread! I'm 23+5, 24 weeks on Tuesday!!!! Due on 24th February, and we don't know what we are having yet. Little monkey had it's bits wedged behind my belly button at the 20 week scan! We have extra monitoring due to what happened with Dale, and I have scans at 28 weeks, 32 weeks, and 36 weeks. I'm so excited to finally be here officially!

Hi Mrs TM, lovely to see you over here!
Thanks for sharing your furniture info sulphate, that cot looks great and a bargain price! Think hubby has his heart set on an oak colour which is causing some trouble but we both like the IKEA wardrobes (either stuva like yours or the pax where you can pick number of shelves, drawers etc) so may end up with birch rather than oak!
We went to see the vista again all set to put the deposit down and then tried it in the boot of the car, eek its a tight squeeze. We have a VW golf so fair sized car but the boot is a bit small as you get a lot of leg room in the back instead. So the current vista just about squeezes in, bit easier if you pop a wheel off but the new vista is about 4cm wider so a bit apprehensive about picking that one without seeing it in the flesh and trying it in the car! I've done a bit more research today and it seems like travel systems are just big no matter what. The baby style oyster might be a good alternative though. Think we'll end up going back to the current vista and hope we don't need a tandem in the future, I've looked at loads of prams now but just keep coming back to uppababy! For info they are going to carry on making the current vista and rumble seat, they are just renaming it the legacy.
The parent craft class was good thanks, a lot of info on the stages of labour and what 'should' happen and how the body is designed to handle it and not really any mention of pain relief just an assumption all would be fine and we'll all have water births that go perfectly! However, session number 2 tomorrow is about potential interventions, induction and pain relief options so glad we will get all that info too0 -
Morning
Nicky you may be worth checking ebay for furniture even if u don't want second hand lots of sets n individual pieces as buy it now n New think lots is last season design or slight seconds like a minor scratch or no packaging or a customer return as didn't want. May save u some money.
My furniture is second hand - cotbed was £20 n changing unit £20 both still being sold at £189 each in babies r us. Wardrobe n chest drawers were mine for the too many clothes I had so massive sort out n now babies.
I have stokke xplory it's a slightly older model but cost me £250 second hand and has everything Inc carrycot, seat, foodstuffs, rating etc etc New would have been nearer £1500.0 -
Just had worst nights sleep ever back ache n hrly toilet visits for a wee think I get more sleep during a night nanny shift.0

Welcome sulphate and MrsT_M
Poor you having slept badly freebiequennie, and you loveactually feeling tired. Hugs to everyone that needs one!
Last week I was thinking, this is what the last few weeks will be like - upset stomach and backache with no sleep, feeling terrible every day, so I'm very pleased to have slept the last 3 nights and not had that much backache. I can't eat much at a time now; if I do I feel very very uncomfortable. 32 +4 now
Not looking forward to work today - really counting down the days! Have far too much to do in the time available, but am not willing to do excessive hours. Just a case of doing the doable and ignoring the rest as best I can I think!0 -
Timeflies hope work goes ok.
Am 36+5 today - just back From school run waiting for laptop to load barely use it so can do my tax return and then have a nap.0
