  • Tia u tuck the blanket right under the mattress at bottom so only what u need is left out to cover baby or use a sleeping bag.

I had to ask for a break down of mat pay n got told by HR would get a mth into maternity leave contacted payroll who did it in 3 days for me as I asked nicely.
  • Hello everyone, dipping my toe into the big girls thread! I'm 24+6 today and my due date is looming ever closer! We are team yellow and due 11th Feb if someone could add me next time they do the list please?

I have anterior placenta but feeling kicks every day now which is lovely! Had 25wk appt today and all is well, need to give my MAT 1B in this week so need to decide for sure when I want to finish for mat leave, I'm thinking about 4 weeks before due date......what's everyone else doing?

Congrats to everyone who recently had their babies, hope you are all getting on OK!
  • Just a quick one to say hi to all the new peeps- welcome :)

Still struggling with maternity cover it's all a bit stressful.

32 weeks for me tomorrow and baby has certainly picked up in activity-
I think baby is trying to escape from my belly button.

My OH takes my photo every week and there has been some significant growth over the last few weeks- i'm scared for the next 8!!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well- will catch up properly soon

Welcome Nicky Noo Na :) The list is getting quite short now, and we're all moving up it! Glad your 25 week appt went well. I'm going on leave at 36 weeks. I first said this to my colleague, and she said that's early, don't you want more time with baby? I then was planning on 37 weeks, but my midwife put me right off at 25 weeks, saying how do you feel now (the answer was exhausted, I was really low on iron) she said well how do you expect to feel at 37 weeks? She suggested 34 weeks, and I just went for 36 weeks! It's hard to know, when you've never had experience of late pregnancy, when the time would be right! 16 days left at work :)

shorty1978, what's making it stressful with your cover? is it just your boss being horrible, or are is your cover not getting on well?

Top bod at work is apparently undecided as to whether they need to have any cover for me, which is charming, given that I do more than a full time role. I won't take it too personally, as he's never met me or anyone on my site and has no idea what we do...

Bit of both- my cover is quite demanding and I can understand why as there is a lot to learn but my boss is adding extra things for me to do so i'm struggling to time manage both. I have 23 days left and am on major countdown!

That's the problem with top bods- never know what people actually do- shame you will probably be more appreciated when you have gone!!

    Hi Nicky :)

I was planning to work till 37 weeks, but ended up having to be signed off at 31 weeks with SPD which was awful. I'm now on official maternity leave at 36 weeks but think I would have struggled to go past 35 as I was very tired, not sleeping very well etc. One of my NCT friends had to go off 10 days before she expected to (also around 35 weeks) as she just couldn't cope anymore with the travelling and tiredness. But everyone is different, I know a few people who have worked up to their due date.

Angel treats, good luck with midwife tomorrow.
In my box is just gloves, little bowls, absorbant pads etc.
Having read other forums it depends on area whether they bring the box before hand or just when they turn up for the big event.

Half term is fun with my other 3 being full of energy, and this is one of my fav times of years with the lovely autumn feel and pumpkins and sparklers etc.
So pleased this little one will have such a lovely birthday, either a halloween birthday party or a fireworks birthday party!

Took my boys to the teddy bear factory the other day, theyve made the baby a teddy and I recorded them saying Hello Baby Sister to put inside. So cute!

Sigh wrote a reply here yesterday but it obviously didn't post.

Nicky - I am starting maternity at 37 weeks if I make it that far. Am on half term at the moment and have 4 weeks when I return which I am already dreading after a week of being able to sleep and laze around.

Freebie - thanks for reply about blankets. Now thinking maybe I should buy a proper one rather than just the cellular ones. I intend to use the sleeping bags but read that the baby must be a certain weight first.

Have bad back ache this morning and couldn't sleep because of it and stomach pains. Anyone else had this?
